Fun fact if you get the most upgraded version of Skyrim on your switch your get the CC for completely free but the trade off is no mods

There was an April Fool's Day mod where Preston chased you around the commonwealth to tell you about settlements and honestly it was the closest thing to true horror I've ever felt.
We need MittenSquad or one of those type of channels to make a video called “Can you beat Fallout 4 while being chased by Preston Garvey?”

The thing about horror is that it doesn't work as great if the player keeps their 40+ weapons
I still enjoy them in a "haunted attraction" sort of way. Yeah, I'm in no real danger but I can enjoy the story and atmosphere.
Well...Fallout 4 done it good at least once. In the Danwitch Quarry or what is this location called. But it works only once and only if you don't expect it
that's why the fallout new vegas DLC, Dead Money, works so well, you lose all of your shit and have to scavenge for supplies to beat it

I'm also in here voting for Children of Ug Qualtoth. Beautifully made mod. Don't go in weak, and make sure to listen for certain cues to find notes and stuff. Boss doesn't strike me as quite right but it's honestly so great that it's forgiveable.
I will say the one thing that sucks is that the new enemies added to the overworld are absolutely awful.
Yes! And add in the F.E.R.A.L - Feral Ghouls Sounds Rework - + Reverb and Ambiance Overhault + Towbie's Realistic Weapon Sounds + Detailed Feral Ghouls. Make it extra spicy. oOo

The creation engine is just dagger falls havoc engine modified and over complicated beyond belief they renamed it creation engine after elder scrolls 4 oblivion and Skyrim started just to make people think it's a new engine oblivion had glitched drop item physics and another sign is the release version of Skyrim had the leftovers from oblivion where you had to pick up weapons by hand from the ground unlike later patches where the weapon was attached to the corpse npc inventory

Arena and Daggerfall both used their own engine, idk what it’s name is but they did not use gamebryo

The mannequins in Skyrim are actual NPCs of the mannequin race with their AI disabled. But sometimes when you load the cell they walk around.
One of the most common traits of horror mods I've seen is incredibly well-hidden keys.

Using the sledgehammer is sort of like how people turn into ghouls from radiation. Exposure to the sledgehammer turns you into the new Peter Gabriel. Sorta like umbra meets ghoulification.

New Vegas has a damn good horror mod called The Happy Place. Definitely recommend it
I've seen my fair share of good and not so good attempts at new vegas horror.
Let's say it had mixed results.
Children of Ug Qualtoth, Claustrophobia, GRIM, and Whispering Hills are some other quality Fo4 horror mods

The mascot head/bear mask is in the game. Its worn by a raider boss who contracted rabies and is beginning to lose his mind as the virus starts affecting his brain
Oh so that what was wrong with Bosco, i just assumed he was crazy because hes a fallout 4 raider boss
At first I assumed it was rabies, but then he got obsessed with surrounding himself with water, and people with rabies are generally hydrophobic.
@@link11913 If you read his notes on a terminal you will learn he got bit by a dog that seemed to become very aggresive out of nowhere and later he started to become paranoid that his men were poisoning the water he drank
@@sindurwavesismaturf yeah I know that, but usually people with rabies avoid water at all costs. Meanwhile, he seems to surround himself with water, so he's kinda doing the opposite of what people with rabies usually do.

The Whispering Hills mod actually gave me mini panic attacks because the sound of air raid alarms signalling impending doom freaks me out

hey Mickey idk if you know but heres a few little tips for fallout 4: tapping the grenade key allows you to perform a melee bash, holding the activate key will let you grab and move loose objects like in TES iv & v, and you can recolor the light your pip-boy emits in the settings.
although running at dead bodies and falling to your death is objectively more funny that just lifting them with your mind powers.

The shared melee/grenade key is the gripe of fallout 4 players since release.
Oh, and I tend to keep my light in a warmwhite. Sort of a yellowish-orange-white. Feels much more comfortable and seems fitting.
Btw, the key that you got stuck on about 40 minutes in was probably blasted by the grenade you used earlier on the nurses. Explosion physics tend to go through walls in this game.

Honestly the mods that you can combine for Fallout 4 are amazing
I've bookedmarked so many. Even when it comes to horror there's so many mods that exist to compliment the world or other horror mods. It's exciting stuff!
Darker nights, Silent Hill and Zombies, along with True Storms and better gun sounds is amazingly scary
Dust for New Vegas has some spoop to it.
If you can get past the fact your character has glass bones and paper skin.

Not so much horror but very intense, you should try Fallout New Vegas : Dust. Its a super hardcore total conversion of the game that makes its 10x more difficult but recreates the entire world of New Vegas. The fun part is exploring the world
Also the mod author made Fallout 4: Frost which is the equivalent for Fallout 4 but the fun part of it is that its a Fallout prequel mod that takes place shortly after the war.
All really fun

I know two very good mods for Fallout 4. Murderer in Concord and The Kelly Manor horror mod. Both scared me last time I played them.

Fallout 4 Whispering hills is a pretty good horror mod it has like custom modal enemys and locations It heavily takes inspiration from silent hill. Though I'm not sure how long it is exactly. Its got voice acting aswell.

Whispering Hills is an incredible mod that basically puts Silent Hill into Fallout 4. Sadly, I'm pretty sure it's only available on console.

Not only is it on PC, but its one of the main mods for the total overhaul to the game Whispering Chills modpack.
I don't really associate horror with Halloween anyway so this is definitely not out of place

I think Oblivion has the best lockpicking minigame, followed by Skyrim and Morrowind (no mini game in Morrowind). The thing I dislike about Fallout 4 is that you cannot attempt to pick a hard lock without the requisite perks. This ruins the immersion for me, if I want to attempt to pick a master lock, let me. If it's made by the company of the same name I believe I can get it open.

The scariest part of fallout 4 is downtown boston with all of the building pieces being separate instead of combined, causing the games framerate to drop dramatically on every system
Even worse if you got mods installed that break apart the precombined geometry.
One thing that actually helps is reducing shadow render distance.
And just to hammer it home: medium is 3000, high is 14000 and ultra is 20000. But somewhere around 5000-10000 is a good value that performs decent and looks decent. I'm usually running 7000 and that works just fine.

Fallout 3 got immersion in the atmosphere spot on, but ppl didn't like it being desolate
Fallout 4 got the gameplay very much upgraded and graphics didn't look like total booty. New Vegas got the roleplaying aspect amazing. Let's Hope that Fallout 5 gets everything.
I'm always impressed with your tolerance of mods. This looks like a real slog to me. Key hunting, no direction, weak atmostphere, no story. Especially the key hunting. Ooof. Well, props to you for keeping it positive, that's something I couldn't do.
To be fair key hunting with no direction is the very essence of Survival Horror. That's 90% of the gameplay of the OG Resident Evil and Silent Hill games.
Wish there were more unique enemies, sounds, weapons, and people to interact with because this mod currently is reslly empty and boring akin to most empty buildings in FO4.
Then my mod clearly isnt for you, its supposed to be a kinda throwback to the good ol days of survival horror find X key To open X lock to find B lock to exit Side door etc etc

@@Virus_In_Lullaby you did a solid job with the atmosphere and the confined feeling of the rooms. Not sure if it's possible but adding a slow moving unkillable enemy just walking after you the whole time would add some shit your pants moments as you try to find the keys.

FROST Survival Simulator mod. Some nice additions to it: Detailed Feral Ghouls, Reverb and Ambiance Overhaul, Towbie's Realistic Weapon Sounds.
FROST is a complete overhaul of the game, so make sure to back your files up, also get the fps fix patch for it.
