10 years ago, I went to Lyon, a city of France, for the first time to see a Metallica concert. Now, after living in other city, I live in Lyon, and I work near of where I saw this concert : The Hall Tony Garnier. This morning, I changed my routine to go at work, and I ride in front of this place with my bike. I remember the line of thousand of people on the street, waiting to see this concert. I remember the tickets were sold out in 20 minutes few months earlier. In France, there was only 2/3 dates. Now with your video, I remember this was the first time I real listened "Seek and Destroy", which were one of latest songs of this night, with a lot of big black balls over the crowd. Good memories. I like some of this coincidences. Keep going Dave!
Tom Suit the Death Magnetic tour! I was at the concert in Charlottesville where the poor girl went missing and Metallica offered up a 75,000 dollar reward to anyone that could find her. A sad story to come out of a night of pure fun :/ but I got hit by one of the black beach balls!
I think you are missing a track from the Master Of Puppets album which is "Damage Inc." I recommend that you see it in letters so that you understand what it is or what it is about. I'll just tell you it's very frenzied, Thrash maxed out, and very fierce. Great reaction from Seek & Destroy. "Damage Inc" would be the last unexpected goodbye from Cliff Burton, R.I.P.
The thing about the cover art that I find interesting is that the "blood stain" resembles the silhouette of a man in deep thought, like the sculpture, The Thinker. Also, the head of the hammer seems to be embedded in the head of the silhouetted figure. Note that the hand is not grasping the hammer, but seems as if it is reaching to remove it. Is all of this symbolic, or merely an example of pareidolia?
the seek and destroy is a reference to the LA music scene back in late 70's/early 80's nothing but bands in sequin tights and big hair and metallica wernt having it. 🤘
I'm not sure if you're a wrestling fan Dave, but Sting used this song as his entrance music in WCW for years. When this song started playing the opponents would be crapping their pants cause they new imminent destruction was on its way.
Yep. If you watch some videos of them in concert from back then, they were so young, and amazingly talented. Their stage presence was great considering their age. It's only gotten better over the decades
Just subbed and I'm wondering if you ever heard of Fight? The lead singer is Rob Halford from Judas Priest and I believe his best 2 songs are done with Fight. Maybe sometime checkout Into the Pit and Little Crazy. 2 of the greatest songs to not be known by many even though the metal God himself sung em. But really if you likes Seek n destroy you'll love these. Into the Pit hits hard and fast with amazing vocals that I'm willing to bet you've never heard. Little Crazy is like a perfect mix of blues metal and soul. Check em out. If you don't like em then don't take any of my suggestions again but I never met a person that's not liked either of them
