That guitar solo in the middle is possibly a top 5 for Metallica for me
what's ur top 5 then? wherever I may roam is in there I bet ..
@@magmasloth3619 Creeping Death
The Frayed Ends of Sanity
Ride the Lightning
Damage Inc
The Unforgiven 3
The Judas Kiss
The Shortest Straw
Those are some best ones off top of my head but they change all the time. Wherever I May Roam is awesome too
The beat is literally called a “gallop”. It’s one of the first think most metal musicians learn :-)
Check out Metallica "Pulling Teeth" live in Chicago 1983 for the sickest bass solo ever by a master at work. It was from the same time album. You just have to keep reminding yourself, that is a bass guitar Cliff is playing. Cliff played the bass like Hendrix did the guitar. Had sounds coming out of it that had no business coming out of it. RIP Cliff Em All
💯% Yes!!!
as much as i love cliff (being a bass player myself ) the sounds he produces in pulling teeth are not that hard to pull off. in general he is just running with a distortion pedal and a Wah wah set in mid position on the bass solo. . to produce teh high pitched barking noises (early on) he is slapping the strings into the pick up (of a rickenbacker bass) while slamming the wah wah pedal into the treble side. this can also be done with any high gain bass pick up but the ric's were the best at reproduing this sound. later at the end of the solo he is just tapping (a pretty standard technique now-a-days ) while the wah pedal is again set into the treble range.
@@DenverStarkey
That's so easy to compose, right? 😂😂
@@DenverStarkey I think the magic of Cliff is that nobody was playing like that then.
That riff was indeed inspired by Sweet Home Alabama
There's an audiotape I listened to some years ago with DAve and Lars jammin in the 80's maybe in the house of Hetfield or Lars , Dave played the Sweet Home alabama riff and he also played some riffs that were later use on Peace sells.
Yup, I seen an interview with Dave where he confirmed it. He called it a "bastardized version" of that opening riff. Said he was just goofing off, but it ended up being kept
Wait which part of the song sounds like sweet home Alabama
@@Pro1938ftc3ch 07:05 that one
@@RÅNÇIÐ wow thanks ♥️♥️
NO REMORSE!
If you like them coming in like you've never heard a band go straight to business before🤘
Back in the 80's for sure there were no bands that could stand up to the combined power, aggression, speed, and creativity of the big 4. There were other bands which came close in one or two categories, but overall the big 4 are considered the big 4 for a reason. While nowhere near as influential today as they were, these songs still hold their own in the midst of today's music.
and metallica is probably the best out of the 4
Good ears, that breakdown uses the same chord progression (think this is correct term?) as sweet home Alabama.
Something about your smile when you catch the beat and start head banging along is so infectious. That genuine look of enjoyment is what I am subbed for!! Great video as always!
Chimaira - “six” (studio performance) 🤞😉
Dave; imagine that these guys were 20-21 when they wrote this......so mind blowing crazy.....🤘🤘......
try 18-19
That drum/guitar pattern is called Gallop... So you're not far off with Giddy Up
The Four Horsemen - Live in Seattle 1989, you will be amazed
The Kill ‘Em All album was their best in my opinion. If you like guitar sounds, you should react to some Jimi Hendrix. Songs like Voodoo Child(Slight Return) and All Along the Watchtower are good ones to start with.
Same here with Metallica. And definitely got to check Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child Slight Return!
I've listened to Metallica since the 80s. I've always known their lyrics were deep and their music was epic. That's why I love them. But watching you react to them gives me a new perspective yet again. I watch your reactions over and over. (You can tell by my comments, lol, there will be one, then another 5 months later, lol) Your excitement is contagious and you make me look at music in a way I haven't before. Plus you appreciate drums, and well, that just speaks for itself🤘🤘
One of my fav songs ever by the mighty Metallica such blistering guitar solos💯
12:35 now that’s a man who’s definitely feelin’ it!
Hit the lights or eye of the beholder. Those songs are fire🔥
I'm watching tons of reactions, reviews etc. and have to say yours are unmatched when it comes to your interpretations, imagery and the genuine fun you get from rocking to these songs. You simply remind me of how I interact with music myself which is fantastic! Keep it up man, greetings from Poland!
This is one deep and EXCELLENT reaction ...I enjoyed watching how much fun you were having with it ...
Great song on their debut album. Definitely one of my favorite Metallica songs ever. It’s so good, the changes are outrageous, just a bunch of young kids with pimples on their faces still.
Hey Dave, hope you're doing well, man...
Just another recommendation, Whiplash from the same album (Kill 'Em All)
Much Love & Respect
Do you want him acting like a maniac?
@@miconis123 🤣🤘
All nightmare long ,live at Mexico !!Badass song .
Badass performance!!
@@Lowrentfilms yes indeed🤘🤘
Metallica - Bleeding me
Also-Metallica is a spectacular live band! The energy is out of this world watching them live. Continue your Metallica journey and find a way to see them live. Welcome to the Metallica family! Love your channel. You have me digging even deeper into songs I’ve been listening to for decades!
Takin it back
ALLLLLL THE WAY BACK
this entire album is fuckin killer
Hey Dave, been waiting for this one! New you would love it. When this song plays, my whole world comes to a standstill. Gives me chills to this day even after listening to it for almost 40 yrs. Love how you visualize music.
All the best 😉🤘
metallica the outlaw torn or bleeding me
I wonder why so many metallica fans don't mention these great songs . to me they are in top 5
@@rezaasadi890 The Outlaw Torn is probably in top 10 for me. A masterpiece
@@nachocheez9690 Outlaw Torn is just amazing. I don't care who wrote that song, what they wrote before or after, as a stand alone song and musical experience it truly is in a world of it's own. I love Metallica, almost every song they wrote is good or great. But Outlaw Torn is something else.
Now it’s only fair that you do Megadeth’s Mechanix. This was one of the songs Dave brought to Metallica but after he was kicked out Metallica made some changes and as a result the Four Horsemen was made.
And thank god cuz mechanix really is nowhere near as good
Hands down the best song off kill em all! 🤟 good to see your channel back man missed you
Are you from my old hacked channel? Good to have you back!
@@whatitdodave ye I am man, was wondering where your last channel went for ages only found your new one just there today
Btw, the first solo is Kirk Hammett's and the last solos are Dave Mustaine's work. Both played by Kirk Hammett yet.
Glad Kirk did them on the album, mustaine's solo's were mindless note spamming. Kirk improved them a lot, they were more emotional and melodic
“that was illegal” great reaction my boy hahaha
The call of kthulu s&m version Metallica with a symphony
Amazing Visualization to this song. couldn't describe this song any better.
I subscribed when you said that solo is for jail 😹 illegal! Epic comment man! Just epic! Cheers from Greece bro 🍻
Obligatory listen to the Mechanix commment
awful lyrics
Four horsemen destroys it
Megadeth Mechanix = speed great badass metal. Metallica 4 Horsemen = magical, epic, shocking, leaves you speechless! There's no other band that could've had the imagination for it!
@@eazye519 Don't think so, unless your just talking about speed with no imagination, which Metallica totally rules with! Megadeth's imagination could fit in a grain of sand. Their just thrashy, it's nothing special.
@@metalmellie4371 mechanix sounds like a bad cover of the 4 horsemen. You're a dope
you had the same reaction i did first time i heard this song. really shocked & amped by what i just heard.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! My Fav metallica song brotha!
Maybe check out "Turn the page" a Bob Seger cover! Thanks for the content much love!
That 'Growl" towards the end was actually Cliff on bass. Check out For Whom the Bell Tolls for some awesome bass om that track
Well done. My first Metallica concert was in 1991 and I've seen them over 25 times. I only say to provide backstory of how big a fan I and but you pointed out details of The Four Horseman I din't know. SOOO GOOD! You know have a new Subscriber
Hell yeah this is one of my favoriteMetallica songs. Just to know they did get one of the four horsemen wrong. The four horsemen our death, war, pestilence, and conquest. Time is not one of the four horsemen. But this song still is amazing anyway though.
No, Famine is one, not Pestilence though.
somelamename how about mr.jukebox yeah that was my bad. Left out famine. Apparently pestilence and conquest are the same and interchangeable. From what I could tell it was originally called conquest around the 14th century it was changed to pestilence because of the plague.
Dude, I swear if nothing would happened to your channel I would have been the first one to watch this. Amazing reaction as always bro! And as I did recommend this song I knew It wouldn’t disappoint 🤘🏽🤘🏽
METALLICA are indeed The Four Horsemen!!
seek & destroy is my favorite song from this album, right after this one of course, if you are a sucker for heavy and rhythmic guitar riffs like I am you should definitely check it out
Awesome reaction! I love the way you analyse the composition, it shows people that the story can be told through music, which is what Metallica does, as even their music composition is deliberate to convey a story.
I love your reaction to the solo in the end. You're just feeling it man, from the heart.
One of the better reactions and breakdown I have seen in a while. Thank you! You really take you time with song. Too many reaction posers on the Tube nowadays. Not you my man. Keep it up!
Yeah ..thats called a gallop ... its called that because it mimics horses galloping .. they are often triplets...but can be all any count... megadeth uses them ad nauseum..
pretty sure they gave Mustaine the credit he was due on this one right?
MarsupialJr he wrote most like 50-70% of all guitar riffs on kill em all.
@@linus5171 haha
I love your analysis bro. great reaction. just subscribed
You're the first reactor I've heard mention the driving guitar / bass resembling a horse running. That was my prevailing thought when I first heard this song
Another live performance must see is from a band called Sepultura live from Barcelona 1991, will sound amazing on your headphones.
Indeed very good ... Love Metallica now let's try some megadeth please " skin of my teeth' would be awesome. Great reaction my friend ❤️
Literally the 4 horseman riding!
And that's their first lp. AmaZing
Would definitely check out the Live Seattle version :D
Seattle great version.. Now city destroy And ST.. Four Horseman fit right in for that City ST
Just so you know I ran it back after you ran it back. Great reaction!! Metallica's the best!!
Hit the Lights off Kill 'em All is killer.🤘🤘
Yes you definitely need to hear Anesthesia Pulling Teath live Cliff Burton solo from 1983. Probably the greatest bass solo. Ever.
YEEEEAAAAAAAAH!!!! glad u liked it! It's in my top 5 metallica songs lol Metallica has a cover of a song called merciful fate. You should check out their cover of that song lots of transitions.
Pink Floyd- Money
Killswitch engage- rose of Sharon
Eddie van halen- hot for teacher
Metallica - no leaf clover
An endless sopratic- impulse
Check out the recording of Enter Sandman live from Moscow in the early 90s.
PHANTOM LORD
The galloping riff is a metal standard.
Best MetallicA song !!!!!
Hell yes !!! Been waiting for this !!
It's called a galloping rhythm. You can hear it in Metal all the time. Check Iron Maiden, their songs are full-blown galloping beasts.
Metallica my favorite band and have been since the mid 80s. I love all their albums in one way or another but the first three will always be their best ones! I still remember where I was and who I was with the first time I heard Metallica kill em all album! I was mesmerized and have been ever since. Do whiplash!
KILL'EM ALL is in my top five Metallica album of all time. The Gallup is is front and center of the riff in the song. The sweet home Alabama was joked about in the creation of this song.
You are the best reactor I've seen. The way you dissect a song is unparalleled. Period. Fuck whoever disagrees with me. Yeah, I spoke those words. My bad...I typed them. LOL.
Funny story about this song. Because Dave Mustaine (Guitarist of Megadeth) was involved in the writing of it, he was able to use the melody when he left Metallica and created Megadeth. Thus the song Mechanix - Megadeth is effectively identical to it. You should check it out and compare it to this song. It’s the basically same song with different lyrics and a faster tempo, and a whole different feel.
My favorite album from Metallica.
One of my favourites bro. Keep rocking 🤟🏻
Your visualization was spot on! Rick flair part of the four horseman should came out to this song.
Must see Metallica live purge & binge in Seattle or live in Russia in front of 1.6 million Metal Heads!
Man cliffs bass is just amazing on this album. Kirk does a pretty good job with Dave mustaines solos, but what would Metallica be with James, Cliff, Dave and Lars?
I honestly think the only reason I don't go back to Kill Em All as much as I think its worthy is because of the vocals on the songs. Musically, it delivers. They got better with vocals in each successive album. Songs off this album I think would be good are: Hit the Lights, Jump in the Fire, No Remorse, Seek and Destroy, Anesthesia-Pulling Teeth, Whiplash, Metal Militia.
The Unnatural Growl Dropping Metal of Evil Before The Last Solo I Think was The Bass - Cliff Burton -The Master of Puppets -he Died in 1987 at the age of 24 - Hes The Man - Personality Master Composer Bass Player

Yeah! I was wondering if you did this one before or not, I couldn't remember but doesn't matter still a great song. Nice!
And your audio quality is pro
Megadeth - Good Mourning / Black Friday. Trust me.
Hell yeah bro, love it.
You were going on and on about the first solo......I can’t wait till you hear the second solo as I type this. 🤘
Great hair, Dave. It’s banging
This is a underrated song that a lot of people don’t request
0:59 Kill 'em all,not kill it all...Best of the best
Heh heh.......you couldn't wipe that smile off your face if you tried! Great breakdown and reaction!
That "growl" was a guitar pick being dragged down the bass guitar.
Oh thank goodness I found your new channel, I was afraid RUclips removed your channel. 😮 unfortunate that your previous channel was hacked 😠 I am grateful, however, that you are still going 😌 word of advice - kill Em all has an energy that the other albums lack - I have confidence you'll like the rest of kill Em all - one of my personal favorite songs from kill Em all is Jump in the fire 😉 as always - take care - and have fun with it 😎
Your commentary is awesome
Ahahaha loved it!!!! Solo is illegal! Ahahahah can’t use my headphones anymore!?? Ahahahahahhaa too funny!!!! 🤘🏼🤣
If you like shredding like that then you should react to jump in the fire by Metallica
"No remorse" please. Thank you.
Hey Great reaction. Halo and fire and suicide and redemption by Metallica are other great songs !
You need to hear Holier than thou by Metallica
Galloping is what your getting at I think! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It does have a kind of gallop.
if someday the worlds is about to end and he Four Horsemen appear I better be listening to that solo instead of apocalypse thrumpets or ill punch some angel in the face before going to hell. lol
Metallica rey de las transciciones
STRAIGHT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
38 AÑOS TIENE LA PUTA CANCION. Y DENTRO DE OTROS 38 SEGUIRA SIENDO LA PUTA HOSTIA
In the metal guitar world we call it galloping
Listen at 3:15 and the other 2 riffs that sound like that. If you listen closely, it sounds like horse hooves.
Please react to Mechanix by Megadeth. Trust me you will be surprised
On leather steeds we ride
