Black Jamun Fruit Jam Recipe in Hindi | Kala Jaam Jam Banane Ki Vidhi

  • Jamun Fruit Jam is a delicious and easy jam recipe. Seasonal Fruits preserved in sugar are mentioned way back in the Jataka Tales and part of our food culture. (Reference link below).
    This fruit jam is made of Jamun and unrefined cane sugar. Jamun is also referred to as Jaam, Jambhul, Java Plum, Indian Black Berry or Black Plum.
    Ingredients:
    250 gms Jamun
    75 gms raw cane sugar
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    1/4th Cup Water

      This is an instant jam not for long term usage,,, lasts a few days in the fridge

      Some people make it that way by removing seeds first. I find this easier and less messy. And pulp not wasted. Try both and see which you prefer.

      You can try and add for an instant spread. But the texture will be thick and different and you may need little ghee or oil. Also taste of gud will likely dilute the taste of jamuns. Let me know how it turns out.

      Small batches for a week in the refrigerator. For longer storing time sugar quantity needs to be equal in volume with jamun.
