thanks for this video, i just purchased the 5.0 fantom cam from the bishop site to try this, i was about to spent $600 on an entire new machine lol. I have the 4.2 Packer model currently
I got a 5.0 wand as a gift, and I’m thinking of converting it to a 4.2 thing lines amazing, but I can accomplish everything with a 4.2, the 5.0 hits a little hard, you can shade with it, but be ready to hold on and be on your A game, and lower the volts. Gonna do a 4.2 conversion for science I think
My cam on my power wand packer doesn’t just slide off after loosening the cam bolt and I tried pulling it but it’s not budging. Do you know if they did something different with the power wands?
Double that figure. each rotation completes teh stroke. So from the cam hole, to the middle of the cam bearing shaft, then double it. The needle travels the full length of each complete bearing rotation back and forth.
Hello Marcus yes you could put a 4.2 on the shader but the shader utilizes a brushless motor compared to the packer & Liner those 2 have brushless motors 💪. ***NOTE-The brushed motor in the shader wand may bog down with longer stroke
thats really gonna save a lot of money, but i have Q.the bishop said the 3.5 wand is brushed motor inside, but the 4.2 is actually brushless,if switch the 3.5 to 4.2,is it gonna be feel just like the original 4.2wand?
Please note there is no gift system in the shader, the motor is simply a brushed motor (weak) so it bogs down easier To “fancy” that problem up bishop started stating the shader had give... 🤦 Also putting in a 4.2 on the brushed motor (shader) wand May not be a good idea as the brushed motor may not have the power to push over the longer stroke in the skin Hope this helps Excuse the delay

@@staceydickson3530 @danny_everett that wasnt what he was asking brotha, im actually wondering the same thing he is.. lol because i have the Bishop Shader, and this has a built in give. Would they be similar, or would one have a complete different affect compared to the Bishop Packer with the 3.5 mm stroke that you installed in this video? 3.5 Bishop Shader vs Bishop Packer with aftermarket 3.5 stroke? How would they compare, how would the differ?
This whole gives thing that Bishop pushed it’s kind of a joke you’re more than welcome and I tell anyone tear in the both machines and you’ll see they’re the exact same thing direct drive, the only difference is the motors between the Packer and shader there is no give system in either one. The shader motor is a weaker motor and so when it runs under load it Boggs down or slows down slightly on its rotation speed, it is a flaw of the small motor used on the shader but Bishop tried to play it as a benefit “give”(which it’s not) That means the only give is in the rotational speed & not a inline pressure Relief system in the (cam/needle bar)*direct drive component that variates the depth of the needle sticking action Note the 3.5 shader wand has that weaker/ smaller motor, trying to size it up with a 4.2 cam becomes even more difficult for the small motor to run under any load again that’s why I suggest only modding Bishop Packers or liners they utilize the same BLDC motor they just have different cams
BURGER KING hello 👋, unfortunately I do not have a 5mm cam. I am assuming that the 5mm cam will only be available by purchasing the 5mm wand I doubt they will be selling the bishop 5mm cam separately I’m sure bishop will want you to buy a whole new machine to get the 5mm cam. Bishop claims the motors in each model are specifically designed for each stroke. This will void your warranty and likely kill your machine prematurely. Just sayin'.
The 3.5 shader does have a smaller motor then the 4.2, this is why I recommend converting the 4.2 up or down as needed. @tat_hack has a side by side of the bishop wand shader and packed to see motor size differences Quick note: 4.2 & 5.0 wands use same motor
