What about the app for controlling the Hotwired BT or Tourmaster Synergy Pro BT heated gear? The app will control the Jacket/Vest, the Pants, RH sock and LH socks separately. Each of them is controlled separately with 10 levels of adjustment. It is both a plus and negative to be able to have different levels of heat for the LH or RH side gloves built-in, plus a completely different heat level for the jacket or vest. I chose the Synergy Pro BT for one control for everything (but the gloves) and I like it. (If they add a new set of gloves to their items they can have the controls in the app also.)
I think it is the matter of preference. When I’m riding I like to have physical controls that I can touch without looking away from the road. Anything with screen is distraction when driving/riding because it doesn’t have physical feel and haptic feedback to tell you the action has been performed. Sure, cellphone app is great option that can control better. Some also have programmable options where the heat increases as the speed of the motorcycle goes up. If someone wants to do it app way it is perfectly a good solution for their case, just like I prefer physical controls 😊
