      It's called a trot.
      Yes, it's a collected trot, then it's a trot in place called piaffe. Yes, it takes training, physical conditioning, and practice to do it *that way* -- but it's a trot, and almost every horse can do a trot.
      And the horse doesn't need to have its nose pulled behind vertical in order to do it.

    • @pumpkinhead8593
      @pumpkinhead8593 Год назад +10

      Take the double bridle/leverage bit out of the equation and see how much that horse is "feeling himself and grooving along". Lets be real, the horse wouldn't be doing any of this if not for his trying to avoid pain.

    • @ladycoyote992
      @ladycoyote992 Год назад +25

      @@pumpkinhead8593If you actually watch the video, you'll notice that the rider isn't using the reins at all, which means he's using leg pressure. The horse is relaxed, ears forward, tail still and he's even wanting to toss his head up and down at some points; horses do this when they're in a good mood. He's not in pain at all. If he was, the tail thrashing would be the first of many indicators.

    • @pumpkinhead8593
      @pumpkinhead8593 Год назад +10

      @@ladycoyote992 Sure, he's using leg pressure to steer.That doesn't mean there is no pressure on the reigns and bit. There is actually a lot of pressure, enough to keep the head right by the vertical, while barely allowing any movement in the position of the head, meaning there is plenty of pressure and pain avoidance on the horse's part.
      Also horses throw their heads when they're agitated as well.
      How can you say he's not in pain when we all know he has a leverage bit in his mouth? Their purpose is to inflict pressure and pain with minimal effort from the rider.

    • @ladycoyote992
      @ladycoyote992 Год назад +22

      @@pumpkinhead8593 Again, if you actually watched the video and understood horse body language, you'd be able to tell this horse is fully relaxed and not in any pain. If you're going to preach about animal abuse, find the videos where riders are ACTUALLY doing it. There's too many out there where no one realizes or even comments on it.

    • @pumpkinhead8593
      @pumpkinhead8593 Год назад +8

      @@ladycoyote992 I did watch the video and I do know about their body language. Don't try to belittle my opinion just because it differs from yours, it's not a good look. The fact that dressage horses go through abusive training and suffer the consequences of being subjected to pain devices is common knowledge. Guess you got nothing to say in defense of the leverage bit/double bridle then?

    From personal experience as an intermediate level rider: I know how hard it is to accurately convey your body queues to your horse! Not to mention staying calm in every situation so your horse doesn’t feel the nerves thru your body and feed off of your anxiety.
    I can see the shifting pressure of the riders seat/butt, thighs, calves, heels, & hands continuously relaying the “ dance “ steps to their partner! Only equestrians with years of riding experience can see that and understand it.❤
    It’s similar to tango. You FEEL your dance partners body pressure to know what steps to take.
    ( in equestrian terms: seat/butt, thighs, legs, heels, weight sitting center, back, or forward, breathing, no nerves, tension, and having the athleticism, mental focus, and endurance to make this communication clear so your horse knows what you are asking. It’s YEARS of EXTREMELY HARD WORK. ❤)

    So that’s what they meant when they said horses could do the slick back dance 😂

    • @MischievousMoth

      I think I heard (or I could just be delusional) that the slick back dance was based on the Extended Trot gait in horses, which is the gait in the last few seconds-
