Forged by Kings in a distant realm, the legendary Excalibur has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. It is now available in an updated version which includes a brand new eye-catching, high-viz color scheme, improved propeller assembly, metal-geared servos, and even more carbon and glass fiber reinforcement, the Excalibur V2 has arrived! Its innovative design features things such as a cantilever forward-swept wing, V-tail tail surfaces, incredibly strong construction, and stunning lines.

Just like the legendary sword, strength is paramount, the Excalibur V2 is the perfect marriage of modern design and materials, with rock-solid engineering and performance. The entire model features carefully positioned carbon and glass fiber reinforcement throughout, this reinforcement has been increased on the V2. Super smooth EPO foam makes it super slippery to achieve the lowest drag possible. Quick connect PCB wing plugs, and a quick and simple screw-together system makes for a very fast assembly.
Power is provided by a pre-installed and extremely powerful 3542-800kv brushless motor, and an Aerostar 60A brushless ESC. The factory balanced V2 13x8 folding propeller has carbon-infused nylon blades and a full CNC aluminum spinner which is lighter, and stronger. The supplied, upgraded metal-geared high torque servos are pre-installed and connected to the control surfaces with super-strong, efficient ball links.
The Excalibur V2 is awesome, it climbs like a demon and the power-off vertical dives have enough energy to complete several maneuvers before power is required again. A vacuum-formed nose cone is also supplied so that you can remove the propeller and turn the Excalibur V2 into a very efficient, exciting, and fun-to-fly slope soarer.
Whether on the slope or at the field, rule the sky with the Excalibur V2, one of the strongest and sleekest hotliners around.
    Features:
    • Stunning looks and a brand new high-viz color scheme
    • Includes vacuum formed nose cone for slope soaring
    • V2 is reinforced with even more carbon fiber and glass fiber
    • Extreme speed, awesome maneuverability
    • Unique forward-swept wing design
    • Very powerful pre-installed drive train with improved folding propeller
    • Ready to fly in minutes

Why no flaps Stuart? Unforgiveable to leave those off a V2 glider...

Love the Excalibur!! Had one I flew so much for about 4yrs that it started looking a bit grubby and faded. So I sold it and immediately bought another that I've been flying since. My hangar will always have an Excalibur and I'll eventually get the V2 as well. Not a big fan of the color scheme on the V2, but it's a minor issue.
Awesome to see a V2 of the Excalibur, although I do feel it's long overdue. Well done Hobbyking. Now please bring back the Me-163. 😉

Nice review - but when I go to purchase it its £179.39 and the only shipping option is from Global , so postage comes in at another (at best £89.00) worst £109.18 so that's a good (at best £268.39) - over 286 Euros !!!! and that's before HMRC (Import tax) take a bite - its one expensive V2 for us meek mortals that live in the UK and have to purchase our aircraft.... thanks for the Video - its a shame that HK seems to have walk away from providing the UK Hobby Enthusiast with affordable aircraft.

Is there even a Europe HK now? I was looking at some batteries etc the other day and the only option was shipping from global with ridiculous shipping costs!
Been waiting for these to come back into stock for ages. Bought a used one the end of last year but only flown it once so far.

Try adding spoilerons for landing, they help a great deal in a number of ways. It is fairly easy on the 14SG.

Good the Excalibur is back! I love the V1! Design is not my case. I painted the wingtips red, wing underside with black block-stripes and the fuselage aß well with black block-stripes.

Lovely plane very good quality, the new V2 is better and smarter, ive been flying the V2 already and got 2 other clubmembers to buy it.. love the way the wings connect to the fuse. Very clean and tight..A briljant plane to take on holidays and fly on beaches.. impressing the spectators. Keep on going HK, nice to see that HK listen to owners of V1 and work that out to a V2

I really like the HK products and most of my hanger is Hk with tundra , grand tundra tempest , Brewster and slow poke . But why now can I not purchase from EU being in the UK as no delivery available from EU ? . Now global warehouse only option where its £200 in postage . If only the carriage options were as good as the products and Stuart’s overview!

The best flyer produced by HobbyKing to date! Great for US customers, however without the advent of local Hobbyking warehouses, not affordable for most international customers. It comes up as $380 CDN before taxes and import/customs fees. All inclusive price is close to $500 CDN. Considering I got my V1 Excalibur on sale for $160 CDN years ago, it seems the inflation rate for the hobby is skyrocketing. It's not hobbyking's fault or under their control, just a shift in the less-globalized world economy (Scratch building is having a comeback...)

Nice to see this plane re-released. I have the original with an alu spinner and carbon reinforcements behind the wing. I fly it frequently and it is just a very very good model in my very honest opinion. I don’t care for the new scheme, but that is just my opinion. To me it looks like some cheesy Fila tracksuit from the 90s..

    • @MeanJoeLean

As for flying in a park, it does have going for it that it is quiet. However, it needs a lot of space to land. I put spoilerons on mine and it helps a lot with cutting down the landing distance. Without a headwind and spoilerons you may end up needing quite a long stretch to land…

so.. for slope soaring you take out the popeller and motor?

    • @HobbyKingOfficial

You only remove the prop/spinner and cover with the provided nose cone. motor stays in and you can just use your regular flight battery.

Now that the UK warehouse is no more, and the European warehouse does not ship to the UK, our only option is to order from the Global warehouse. I’ve just tried to order this model from the Global warehouse and had to cancel as the cheapest of three shipping methods offered was £143 ($192). 😱😱😱
