I watched this all the time when i was like 5-6. I used to laugh at the part when he's in the chair and screaming, "cut my bonds!" because I always thought he was saying, "cut my buns!".
Puddleglum is so brave at that point! I can honestly say I don't know if I would offer myself up for Eustace, even as sweet as he's become since Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
When the knight is pointing the sword at Eustace, having been challenged by Puddleglum to spare his life, I could imagine Eustace thinking, “Get that sword out of my face you big bully! You don’t scare me!”
@SusanBaudelaire The Actor's Tom Baker. He also played the Fourth Doctor in the Doctor Who series - Bit of trivia for you there. :) And I totally agree and getting good actors and Puddleglum's face.
The Magician's Nephew is one of the best i think, although i do like the silver chair and the little known horse and his boy is also very good, but The Last Battle is perhaps the most epic. The End Of the World and Tash springs to mind. THe book's actually very philosophical and spiritual. C.S. Lewis' Out of the SIlent Planet trilogy is amazingly good too
I agree. The Magician's Nephew was really good and had some funny bits (Uncle Andrew with his hat smashed over his head for example). Hopefully they'll include it in the new Disney line they're doing.
@Swafferjohn They should have made movies of the space trilogy. I would love to see on the big screen the titles Out of the Silent Planet, Perulandra, and That Hideous Strength. But the Chronicles of Narnia is an Amazing series as well.
Many fall down, and few return, to the sunlit lands. One day I want to say that to somebody just to confuse them. I figure that they may have heard of TLTWTW but not SC so they probably wouldn't have a clue what I'm on about, and that would amuse me.
jill is always complaining i used to like watching this when i was young i though it was good but it's not that good the lastest version of narnia is better
I'm still waiting for the Last Battle movie. Epic novel, as good as any in the series. This miniseries proves you don't need a lot of money to make something great. These new movies are good, and the technology is nice to watch, but there's consistently something missing.
Mightn't they be being used for pumping water out? Steam engines were originally used for pumping water out of mines and this place is pretty deep below ground.
Its a shame, I thought this adaptation was doing so well until they got down to the underworld, but its going downhill now. The earthmen are really wrong (why have they become brutal Roman legionaries; they were described as droopy depressed and monotonous) and the Prince is out of character. All throughout his conversation with Jill and Eustace and Puddle, he was supposed to be Jolly and courteous and chivalrous. Why is he shouting and violent here??
They didn’t quite get the earthmen right, and they were meant to be gnomes. Also the prince didn’t threaten Eustace physically, then Puddleglum when he stepped in (not in the book) to keep a child from harm.
Well in any case there's something wrong with him - they were unnerved by how he laughed at the thought of the people above him not even suspecting that they'll be invaded. None of what he does feels right either way

Now that would be very painful lol 😂
I love how Puddleglum is comforting Jill in the boat! :)
Robin Krauter well i suppose he Used the jelly babies...or no?😂

@cwrinn I can't stop seeing puddleglum in the tardis with that insane magically-always-different-lengths scarf of his XD TOM BAKer IS THE MAN

I don't think anyone who loves narnia *really* grows up ;) Haha.

the effects for the underground city etc. are actually pretty good, considering.
The knight used to scare me
8:15 - 8:20 Wow! That’s almost similar to what the White Witch told Edmund in LWW.
The face of the guy who plays Puddleglump looks like that of some of the goblins and ents from the LOTR movies. Very especially English-looking.
love this movie
Puddleglum said something not too depressing! Hallelujah!
Mr warden
