    I read this part in the book and, while the heroes escaped back into the surface, the underearthmen jumped back with joy into Bism, to reunite with the Salamanders.

    I like this series overall but the snake made me laugh

    Actually, considering their budget and other limitations ... the morphing into the snake is not bad at all. :)

    Fun fact: Puddleglum was based on Fred Paxford, C.S. Lewis' gardener and handyman. Lewis also said that Puddleglum was one of his favorite characters in The Chronicles of Narnia.

    The beginning of this part. Damn. Her screams make me imagine her spirit going into hell and leaving her burning vessel

    It is the Prince! And they cheer as if it was just a plain old procession, instead of finding a long-lost prince.

    Something tells me the witch's snake form would have looked more formidable if it were animated like the animals from the LWW episodes like the winged horse, the griffin, the pelican, the cockatrice, the eagle, and the winged panther/cougar.

    0:02 The most violent death of its time. In 4th grade, girls in my class were horrified and the boys were laughing at this scene. Of course, that was back in my time of 1994.

      The special effects may not be great, but the sound effects are pretty scary.

    Hmmmmm...the problem with keeping a line from the book when you've changed other aspects of the book.
    "I've never heard one of them so much as raise his voice before!" (Rilian about the earth people)
    Really?? I heard them shout and bark orders at our heroes several times

    • @feigekatarina5745
      @feigekatarina5745 3 года назад

      neil brocklehurst lol, not as bad as the newer movies. In Prince Caspian, there's a part where Peter is supposed to say, "the Lord love you Lu, that's the closest you've ever come to saying I told you so." But in the newer movies they ruined that opportunity with a poor joke in the first movie where Lucy flat out said "I told you he's real." In regards to Father Christmas. Great, now you've twisted Lucy's original selfless character.

      David Thwaites and Camilla Power could had potential to be companions in today's Doctor Who. David Thwaites is now a Hollywood producer and Camilla Power hasn't acted in anything since 2016.

    Although the escape from Underland was suspenseful, it’s a shame it was rushed. What about the earthman/Roman centurion Golg, plus the rest of them being overjoyed at finding out that the queen was dead? They flung themselves into the deep chasm, no mention of the land of Bism far below? Also Jill climbed up on Puddleglum’s shoulders, she disappeared suddenly, leaving Eustace, Puddleglum and Prince Rilian dreading she’d fallen into the hands of enemies. There was also a blue light shining down into the hole. When all four of them and the horses broke free, there was the Great Snow Dance in Narnia, the blue light was in fact moonlight. A flawed but ambitious adaptation, as the book was set during cold, not warm, weather.

    when Jill kisses Puddleglum's cheek, she turned all the other Marshwiggles against. Now they're going to kill her because she ruined aany chance of Puddleglum becoming less "flighty and full of bobance and bounce."

    • @80sDude990
      @80sDude990 4 года назад

      Yes in the book Puddleglum was told to stay in bed, as his burnt foot (not in this bbc adaptation), was going to be looked at by a centaur called Cloudbirth, whom a faun called Orruns called a leech. Puddleglum’s hand was completely healed after he burnt it, so he could have gone with them to Cair Paravel when Rilian reunited with his dying father.

    I love how brainwashed everyone is. Forget the technological deficiencies. Technology these days is used to cover up what's most important in a movie - it's story, characters and actors. This is so well acted and produced given the cash on hand, and all people care about is that the snake doesn't look real. Enjoy your inferior movies, if you will. They're just eye candy.
