When I get to Heaven, I can't wait to meet John Prine. I've listened to him for so many years now that he feels like family, but then he seems to have affected many that way with his honest lyrics and love of mankind. His lyrics are haunting. I was praying for him since I heard he had the virus. I would wake up hearing his music. On April 7th, when he passed, I woke up hearing, "I'm gonna kiss that pretty girl, on the tilt a whirl". It was like God was preparing me for the bad news. My heart is still broken and this world really doesn't seem the same. John was one of a kind and nobody will ever fill his shoes. He made the world better just being here. So sad he has left us, but I'm looking forward to the heavenly celebration someday. We all miss you John!

I saw him not six months ago. I wore my best corduroy jacket and sat down in my pew. I paid $100 for a ticket on the first row. Right up front with the yuppies. AS I wrote it I started thinking of all the times I've read people baring their souls to us strangers because of the music and yes the times I've felt safe enough to bare my own soul. Was a true honor to see him through the years until the ladt i saw redrocks what a beautiful performance with the Colorado symphony orchestra. Without a doubt the best performance I ever saw by him. Danced like he was young agian and truly happy with his time here will be missed and always heard.
