Why Acting “Broke” Is the Richest Move You’ll Ever Make (I use this term *very* loosely)

Pretending to have less is the only reason things like pet health scares, car breaking down, and all that dental work I need haven't completely drained my bank. >.>

    “I can’t afford it.”
The greatest power move when used wisely.

I tell people all the time I'm broke. My closet consist of band tshirts and shorts/jeans with the same shoe I wear daily. But I am not financially worried if something happens to me lol

I started watching videos with sustainability tips and low waste etc, there I found that every thing bought is a problem on many levels. And that every dollar counts, these sustainable items really adds up, even though you don’t buy them you see that a lot of things are actually waste both physical but also economical.
I also saw that in the periods I do more stretching/yoga (currently obsessed with Julia Reppel here on RUclips), my spending gets less. It’s like I find something inside that is just content with what I have and my personality is so much more that just buying things mindlessly.
Love the short-form content here also, fresh break from the more longer ones, and not so short that I just scroll from thing to thing.

👍Excellent! You're a natural financial advisor Always on point! STOP caring what people think Spending habits would change if people would stop trying to impress others with money they do not have I've always down played my financies Much less care what people think Its exhausting trying to keep up appearances
I was raised with beyond discipline! A budget is a must for me I would be terrified doing impulse spending Peace of mind is priceless! Assign every dollar Most people do not have a vision Purpose Plan for their money

I have started to think that I do not have room. When out shopping. I really do not see all the things that are in the stores. I only see what I need on a list.

Love this concept! However I have to share... some people in my family play this thriftiness mess! It gives me mad anxiety because their words and actions do not match! Refusing medical care getting teeth pulled instead of regular checkups. Being unable to see because their glasses prescriptions was outdated years a go. As well with routine maintenance on their properties (yes properties) and vehicles (yes vehicles) is a choice called neglect not frugality ! I do not agree with these behaviors! It has created a lot of conflict ! They are free to sit in their house that has been paid off for years and tell whatever stories they want... the rest of the family are not obligated to participate in the orchestrations!

Always good counsel here. It's so true that if you absolutely act as if you can't purchase something, you can train your mind to look for alternative options & solutions. Buying to create a quick fix doesn't prompt creative financial problem solving, as you so clearly said in this video. And, I enjoy that. I get so much satisfaction out of coming up with a solution that works & saves me money. I love the practical and doable nature of your suggestions. Thanks for the video. 🤗

I retired at 52 and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner. The 9-to-5 grind steals your freedom for a paycheck that barely scratches the surface. My advice? If you’re in your late 30s or early 40s, start saving for FIRE now - Financial Independence, Retire Early. And if you’re in your 50s, invest smartly and break free from relying on your job. Market trends, like the Trump Effect, have made millions for many, including me. Stay focused, stay consistent, and remember: financial freedom is within reach if you make it a priority.

Exactly My point! The 9to5 grind is just not worth it the stress and low payoff. What specific steps did you take to break free?

Working with Lorrie Greta Hillard , a financial advisor, was a game changer. She helped me refine my savings strategy, including retirement planning, and provided expert guidance on investments and budgeting to maximize my savings.

I adopted this thought regarding luxury purses /clothes/shoes. I can afford a Louis V. and other luxury items BUT do I need or just want a $4k < luxury item. Where will that item be in 1 year or two years? Who am I trying to impress??? I really like a cute top handle leather purse 👜 😅😅😅. I save and invest a lot more these days and buy things I really love 💕. 😊😊😊😊😊
