- 2020 Chrysler Pacifica is Minivan Perfected. It is spacious, comfortable, filled with tech and offers features for the whole family. This is one amazing minivan. If you're in the market, you don't want to miss this review!

I love minivans, they are so versatile plus your seating position is so comfortable when you take long drives it so comfortable to drive you don't want to drive a car after this
I just had this in a rental today.. .. it was amazing, I fell in love, came home to do more research on this beauty. The interior had cream leather seats.. gorgeous
@T Clodfelter Get her to do her homework. Everyone raves about this vehicle.
Same!
Does the inside lights stay on when driving?
Just exchanged my '10 T&C for a '20 Pacifica, both in the Limited Trim. I just wanted a new one. The '10 cost me ~ $1,300 in repairs over its life. (Both front bearing packs and the rear A/C expansion valve.) The people-mover aspect seems to be what most advertising is geared towards, including this review. But here is what I will tell ya: if you haul lots of gear, and my hobbies require this, once you have a vehicle with Stow-N-Go second and third row seats, it will be almost impossible to envision not having this option. FCA should do more to emphasize this aspect. Any mini can haul people, but only the FCA can haul gear so easily.
True, stow and go is really nice
I don't have any kids but find a mini van more practical and usable than a crew cab pickup truck. Pacifica finally wil have AWD which is the main reason I didn't consider it before, since I live where i am driving on snow 6 months of the year
A very unfortunate truth. I wish Toyota and Honda had something similar to the Stow n Go. FCA biggest sell point
Just bought a 2018 limited Pacifica... Stow and go is just incredible for me, someone with lots of hobbies and gear and a family.
@@MikeMPharmaCyclist so apparently chrysler has a patent on the stow and go but I couldn't find anything on when that night expire. Does anybody know?
The cool to your steering wheel trim was quite popular in the 80's..such as in my old 1984 Cadillac Deville, the Olds Cutlass had it, many Park Avenue's did as well..I had a Dodge Grand Caravan with the StowNGo seating..I LOVED it! I hauled a sectional sofa, fridges stoves everything in that van! How versatile! More versatile than a 54 yaer old gay male on poppers!! haha The best feature I think all car makers should do is the EVIC system that tells you the volts, oil pressure AND oil temp, trans temp and many other informative stats..tire pressure to each tire too! If you were to tow a small trailer as it is rated for 3500lbs it would be good to monitor your tranny temp too..and not the tranny in your back seat but the one bolted to your engine!
I’m 13 and I love this car
Saphed Barph hey I’m currently driving in this car and there is this beeping sound on it and idk why can you help us
Excellent review. Keep up the good work, you are doing great!
Thank you!
I have a Pacifica 2020 Red S , I love it 1050 miles so far. So smooth, love the 9 speed trans. I am at 80 in no time. Love the cargo space with the Stowe and go. I live in Mi for the summers , Alabama in the winter. I have FWD, I wish that the AWD was available foe me... so for so good...
I have a '17 Pacifica that I bought new for a contractor driving business. I haul auto parts and drive to remote rural areas. I have 420,000 miles (okay, actually 419,500ish but by the time you read this...). I had no repairs until the quarter million mile mark which initiated with the wheel bearings. I did spend about 7k between 3-400k miles, half of that on various sensor replacements which can only be done at the dealer. Ambient temp sensor which is needed for engine cooling, ABS sensor (these may have been related to the two heavy front end crashes (one from a deer one from a boy with a car fully of hotties not paying attention)... Camshaft position sensor/phaser was the worse at over a grand dealer and another 800 after having indep shops diagnose and replace (twice) just the sensor and not the phaser and having it solve the problem only temporarily. BTW the cause was likely my 10-15k oil change intervals. Now I do 5k!
But having an engine and transmission last over 400k is nice. It did start hard shifting (occasionally slamming really hard into second gear) early on at 187k but so far it hasn't gotten considerably worse. At 100k I asked around about changing the trans oil. Dealer said it is lifetime and wouldn't change it and a couple mom and pop shops were confused at how to do it. At ~130, I started to hear a whining sound just before upshifting. I cringed and called around some more and finally found an independent shop that was competent and had the oil changed and the problem went away. I now change every 50k!
The only complaint going forward is that the new ones don't offer a base LX trim. I paid 23,500 for mine three and a half years ago but would now have to cough up at least 30 for a replacement. I added the hitch for under $300 and a kayak roof rack for about 300 and what more do you need? I will probably buy a used 17-18 LX with 40k miles for half the price of a new one when I finally total this one on the next "Oh, deer!" Okay, that's enough FYI, David.
I don't normally write a lot of comments but I had to let you know that I was impressed with your review of this mini van. Great job. I am in the market for a minivan and I have it narrowed down to the 2021 Toyota Sienna and the 2021 Pacifica. No other mini van has AWD except these two. Thanks!
Thank you! Hope to reciew both 2021sin the near future.
I have been mini van/suv shopping. I have test drive and checked out options on so mini. I don't think I have missed any. Pacifica has them all beat.
It's hard to beat the Pacifica when it comes to features and how it drives. Its a great minivan.
I've been doing the same thing and the Pacifica beats them all, in looks, comfort and sport and the interior is gorgeous
I think the Honda odyssey has it beat in everything except the stow and go. So torn between the two. I wish FCA had a good reputation with reliability and resale value
@@ctvwrest drive quality and overall interior quality isn't even close in the Honda. The Pacifica Limited trim has an incredible suspension, just like a luxury vehicle really.
Have 2019 Pacifica Limited and love it. Had an Odyssey for years. Safety stuff was what made me choose a Pacifica over Honda. I do wish Pacifica would add the turn signal onscreen camera when switching lanes. Great video.
to soon to know how much money drainer it will become later... or at least to soon to tell about any car...
@@zawaprz I wouldn't trust Chrysler with making a reliable car ever
Can u cast ur device in the TV screens in the back ?
Excellent description of steering feel and handling.
Very Good For Families For The Minivan.
Thanks, great review Would have like to see more detail about the seat configuration.
This is the ultimate vehicle these look more luxurious than the grand caravans
Great review bud! I have a 19 Pacifica S and I love it! the only thing I don't like is the steering wheel sits to high, it doesn't adjust low enough
Thanks Brad! I was very impressed with the Pacifica. Didnt notice the steering wheel being too high for me.
tell us about your Pacifica experience once it hit 120K miles, ok?
Most comfortable minivan today, hands down.
How reliable is it ? That's what matters most to me. The reliability. Every thing else is nice ,but reliability and longevity is first.
Its not going to be as reliable as Toyota but this does not ride like a VAN. I have 2018 limited and so far only thing went out was the strut mount which was covered under warranty tires brakes, tech packages doors everything works well and the suspension is amazing. This Van rides like my Lexus RX.
than run Sindba.. run far awaaaay from it...lol! again..Some people already report troubles (if you research) about so new car.. I have Toyota Sienna, 10 years old, model 2011 - OTHER THEN BRAKES - nothing!!! Aiming for 2020 Highlander (Platinum).
@@zawaprz Offcourse Toyota is the best in reliability.
@@TheSaqibbhai no joke man, I just bought a 2018 limited myself and I am blown away by the ride and overall luxury.
Best minivan.
Keep dreaming, lol!
Lol stupid
@@zawaprz Car and Driver Magazine just picked the Pacifica as their Best Minivan. So they also agree. lol.
So this one isn't the hybrid? And I heard the hybrid get's about 85 on the highway!
Which is better, Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Pacifica?
Awesome vehicle!!
With a congested car review market, you are doing a great job. Really enjoyed this review! Question for ya; does this have the feature where when you put the turn signal on, the side view cameras show in the display like the Odyssey does?
Thanks hum I don't believe so
I see siennas and Odyssey everywhere, but very few Pacifica
My wife had one as a rental and fell in love with it. I am hesitant because I have had Chrysler vehicles before and was not impressed with quality.
I wonder how these stack up against the Toyota and Honda minivans?
setovegeta I had a 2019 odyssey elite for nine months and it was in the dealership five times for various issues. I can’t speak for the sienna’s reliability though.
That is because the Pacifica is a brand new model, only released in 2017. However how many Town and Country’s do you see? This is the model that the Pacifica Replaced.
@@kelseythemerrymama4010 Oh wow..thanks for the information. Hopefully things are a little better for you now.
Another good review👍👍👍 Subbed😎😎
Thank you!
At the end when he points out the bad, he says it takes too long for the 3rd row seats to fold and unfold. He said it took 30 seconds but my family rented one and it only takes 15 seconds not 30 but pacifica is a great minivan tho. Its my favorite!
I thought it was more but it was definitely a long wait nevertheless. Manual straps would be much better.
@@DriversOnly i agree
Excellent review 👍👏👌
Is it four wheel drive?
I have a Pacifica Limited and love the car, but at 5.58 you say you love the silver trim. Yes, it looks good, but even though the wheel is heated, that silver trim is freezing in the winter. My daughter's heated steering wheel on her Jeep Compass feels far superior in the winter! Great video though my friend.
Well done review. Nice looking vehicle design.
i prefer a thicker steering wheel for gripping and crashing
I had a 2018 I liked it a lots so my kids, but after the 3rd family trips on the way back home from Vegas down the hill about 4000 elevations the transmission started acting weird it's was making very loud noise like it's hesitant to change gears even though it has only 15k. Not sure what's wrong with it but didn't want to deal with it so I traded for the 2019 Toyota Highlander SE and very happy ever since!!
Best van hands down
The best in the business
Do all trim levels have same ride quality? Or do more expensive trim level have smoother ride quality? Thanks
Some manufactures add additional sound dampening / insulation on the highest trims, along with the windows, but this isn't advertised. Not sure about chrysler
@@ctvwrest Thanks for your answer.
I think higher trim levels do offer fancier/ more controlled options, limited is best of course. Google a trim comparison article and you'll see, that's where I remember reading about it. I just bought a 2018 limited and the ride is unbelievably good, luxury car feel. My wife can't believe how nice the van is, did not want a minivan. We call it a super van lol
Which has smoother ride. This one or the Sienna?
Pacifica has a smoother ride in my opinion
@@DriversOnly Wow, how about when you compare it to the other van from Chrysler?
Ride of the Pacifica Limited is excellent, on par with many luxury vehicles.
Yes this car, this color.but i cant buy this car in switzerland😢
How relatable are this can do you know !
English?
Does this one have the stow n vac?
Vac comes with limited model
forgot the vacum
Not the coolest thing in the world but for picking up children’s it’s the best
I have a 2017 Pacifica, and it has been a great vehicle. The chrome insert you liked in your review is really stupid. In the winter when you turn on the heated steering wheel, that chrome insert stays freezing cold. Takes forever to warm up. Odiously of no benefit, except eye appeal in the showroom. Also, the HID headlights are $250 each to have the dealer install. I did it myself, but next time will pay the dealer. Is a real pain to change yourself.
Me in Australia watching be like: Dats on the wrong side.
Is this car reliable?
Of course. Runs great! Great vehicle.
@@Jeremiah17seven how long have you had yours? Any repairs yet (besides regular maintenance)?
I would say no., because it's a Chrysler, and I have a 2013 T&C which has had thousands of dollars of repairs beyond warranty. I love my minivan, has nearly 120,000 miles now, but my next minivan will be a Kia with a 10 year warranty.
Li Edward I’ve been driving my 2019 limited Pacifica hybrid plug-in for 17,000 miles with no issues so far.
Careful the A automatic engine shutoff shuts down after a few months. Needs service.
Harry Gruber every one shuts off after a few months?
I hate power sliding and opening doors because they are slow, and you don't feel power with them.
Any chance you played around with the quality/accuracy of the lane keep assist (you noted it had three settings). I recently drove some Hyundai / Kia and Subaru models and was so impressed that I could put on adaptive cruise and the vehicle would remain in the CENTER of the lane (not ping ponging side to side) even on curves! Will the Pacifica do this? It this feature speed limited, also will it work in stop and go driving?
As a 2017 Pacifica Limited owner since Sept. 2016, I can tell you that the lane keep assist is the Ping Pong type. It's more an active warning that you've reached the lane line and won't steer for you. Also, It's only active after you reach 35 mph. Hope this helps.
Edit: That said, I do prefer it over the 2012 Grand Caravan R/T that I traded in for it.
Yes, more of a ping-pong.
Do you work for Chrysler?
Did you know that "AUX", not to be confused with "OX", stands for "AUXILIARY"?
I think everyone knows that. That is like asking if you know AC stands for air conditioner.
What about parking sensors? Are they good?
Yes no issues
i have 2017 pasifica
Neighbor had some kind of hybrid (2018? 2019? ) and it exploded into flames while he was charging the thing. It was loud and very firey. Luckily outside.
Highly doubt it. Need proof.
Richard IMG_0290.JPG
Don’t know if this will come thru, but this car exploded. No reason to lie about this.
kd RUclips doesn’t allow photos for good reason.
Here is a bit from a Pacifica forum that explains fire hazard.

😀best
No matter 'how certain your voice sounds' you won't convince me toward it's 'reliability', sorry pal.
At least you said I have a warm voice
Yeah, I got my wife a 2017 Pacifica. Long story short, it's crap.
@@RobertKliethermes how so?
But you don’t have to
If it's "perfected", the word "unfortunately" wouldn't exist in the introduction of this vehicle would it!? Derp!
Talking about the quietness, could you stop talking long enough for us to appreciate it? Just a suggestion, but we are here for the car not you mate.
