I have a much better understanding of yalls videos now that I have shot my first wedding. Its. Your videos along with pablos and kreg adams gave me the confidence I needed to do get started. Thanks!
Felt like the old days for a moment! Great video! I would want to know how you mentally balance coming from a commercial shoot to wedding shoot as they are two different styles.
Only someone who really knows what they are doing will be able to self-ask those extremely right on questions to begin with, not alone answer them knowledgeably. Amazing! So you are still doing weddings:)
Great video Scott. Im surprised you used the canon eos r on the gimbal. I've been using a gh5s with a native lense and find the autofocus fairly good. Only plays up occasionally! I think the latest updates had helped in some way.
Great video! It funny what you say about putting a lavalier mic on the two people who give speeches. Here in Denmark it's normal to have 8 to 15 speaches. Which normally takes 2 to 4 hours to get through. Very different wedding traditions.
Scott McKenna ah right just upscaling it. There’s not a lot out there with 4k60 with good AF. I’m in such a dilemma with the gimbal shots and whether to get the R. As you know trying to stay in focus with the GH5’s is stressful - thanks for replying.
3 weeks ago I had a DJ refusing to give me a feed. I approached him nicely like I always do. He was like this is my gears and you're not plugging anything. Next he was like please don't leave your $#it close to my booth. We talked it out later I showed him promo videos I do for DJs and explained how we can help each other through referrals.
I shoot very differently for weddings. 95% of my day is on the gimbal so I shoot 60fps nearly all day. Shoot only solo. I like mostly cinematic movement. Check my channel for examples of my wedding videos.
I can only do so many full behind the scenes edits, not much changes each time. Plus we are continuing to move more and more into corporate work and weddings are less of what you'll see.
@@scottmckenna Well that's sucks. That's what brought me to this channel. I wasn't sure if I heard correctly and was going to ask. But I guess you just confirmed it. I don't mind giving it a shot at editing one of your BTS, I'm not the best but definitely not the worst. But I've always loved your BTS.
It’s just not my life long passion. As things change in life and business, so do focuses. Commercial work is something I’m enjoying a lot and it’s a long term thing. Weddings may still be a part of what 4LC Studios offers but it’s becoming less and less my focus right now. Would love for you to still hang out and follow the channel. I think there are other things you could enjoy.
@@scottmckenna definitely not going to unsubscribe, I mean I own a GH5 because of you. Shoot I even got the same picture profile as you and I recently got the Ronin-S. And I've watched your other videos (non-wedding) but I really enjoyed your BTS at weddings. I think it was a great balance to have video with what you started and to what you have grown your business into.
I just shot my first wedding video yesterday, your videos really helped me! Thanks for the awesome and informative content
So glad it's been helpful. Hope your wedding went great.

Good question. I don’t find it difficult but they are definitely different.

I don’t trust autofocus on the gh5 at all. Love the camera for everything else.
Great video... Thanks for that...
Thanks for watching
Very informative video! You always learn something new! 👍
Thanks.

Yes. They aren’t that long here lol
I love these sir I hope you do another one
A couple more wedding based things left.
Good informative vid, Scott! I thought that you used the A7III on the gimble. I guess you sold that one? :)
Sold that a long time ago.
@@scottmckenna Oh really. What about the Canon EOS R do you like over the A7III?
Thank you for your answer!
Scott, if you’re now using the EOS R for gimbal shots, with no 4k60 how are you slowing your shots in post? Thanks!
We shoot 60fps in 1080 if we need it. The 1080 codec on the Eos r is very good.

I miss these!
A few more coming.
Thanks ... awesome!

Interesting. I would nicely talk to the bride and groom in that situation.
very informative
Thanks for watching.
@@scottmckenna Sure, I love the tips and the overall content!
Hi Scott, great video thanks. I've also watched the settings video in the link above. Can you tell me what bitrate you shoot your 4k in? Thank you.
8 bit for weddings.
Scott McKenna Thanks for your reply. Sorry I didn’t ask the question properly. I meant 100Mbs, 150Mbs etc thinking of getting a Gh5.
Why are you stopping doing the full BTS videos
You can only do so many.
I shoot very differently for weddings. 95% of my day is on the gimbal so I shoot 60fps nearly all day. Shoot only solo. I like mostly cinematic movement. Check my channel for examples of my wedding videos.
There's definitely no right or wrong way to shoot a wedding. It's all about preference and style.
Scott McKenna Agreed! Like any art form.
👍
Thanks
why will the next wedding BTS be the last one on this channel?
I can only do so many full behind the scenes edits, not much changes each time. Plus we are continuing to move more and more into corporate work and weddings are less of what you'll see.

Thanks so much for being here.
My sister works finance for BR. Hooks me up with all my wedding clothing.
Well that’s awesome. Sweet hookup.
1:22 beautiful lighting!
hahaha. I know right.
Too much speaking 😂
