I had never heard of Byron Allen until this interview, and I can't tell you how moved I was by this interview. I would vote for him for president in a heartbeat!!! Thank you, Howie!! I've been listening to your podcast for about a year now, and this was, hands down, the best one yet. Every American should listen to this interview❤
Go watch his interview from Breakfast club 4 years ago. It is equally good. This guy needs to come out more. Very valuable and he is good at articulating issues very well. Few can communicate like him. Hence why he is a good salesman! He has the “it” factor!
Saw Byron Allen's standup years ago. He was ok. There were much better comedians around at the time. He got a few talk show spots, but just sorta disappeared. Now we know what he was doing. Obviously, so did he.
BRILLIANT! The single best podcast you have ever done, and the best podcast I have ever seen. I just gained so much more respect for Byron that I never had. He is just so amazing. I love him.
Very impressed with Mr. Allen and love his highly interesting stories. Wish Howie didn’t interrupt his stories and send him on another tangent. I hope Allen writes a book.
It is this guy Byron Allen that will unite us, as he already has some of us. He has the blueprint. His comics unleashed has brought people from all over different worlds together thru comedy. Therefore he has proven that he is a uniter & a healer. You actually feel better after watching his shows! God bless mr. BYRON ALLEN 🙏🙏🙏 ❤🎉😊 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
I've been working 60 hrs a week since I was 21 also gave all my time and ran a company that just let me go with no package for my 20 years now I'm back to where I started driving a truck and my drive to grow is gone now I'm just day to day 😢
This is one of the finest episodes I have seen. I could listen to Byron Allen talk and tell stories all day. My late cousin met Byron Allen back in the 80's when the show "Real People" did their train tour, I hope Byron comes back on the show.
I was born in 1964. By 1968, my mom and I were living in Hackensack, NJ. My mother and I were shopping at a Modell's (They were not just sporting goods, at that time. They had a grocery store on the main floor and a department store in the basement [which was roped off on Sundays due to Bergen County "blue laws"]) It was 08 APR of '68 and I had never seen a (grown) black man. I went to school with some black kids, but I had never seen an adult. I saw a man at the end of the check-out with a huge afro. I asked him if I could feel his hair. My mother froze. The man bent down and said: "Sure, kid" It was 1968. They were burying Dr. King. Newark was burning and this man knew I was just a curious kid, wanting to learn everything; not some budding racist who was obviously being raised by a racist. Why can't we go back to people treating each other like human beings? "I think education should be free all the way through to your PhD." I think we should pay for their beer.
At 36:00 or so!= My simular story is as a little kid I had a long skinny stick and I would fish quarters out from the bottoms of washers and dryers at 2 different laundry matts back in the early 70's. Later on I would have Yard Sales and they got bigger and bigger and so did the money!
Nope he shouldn’t if he cares for his family and his self worth. Look what they r doing to Trump. Look what they did to Obama. Bush can’t even show his face - have u seen him anywhere?!! Nope i wouldn’t advise any rich man to do this. Find another way to assist. They will chew you up and spit you out like that. You will have a target on your back for the rest of your life. America is too divided and there is too much hate! In Europe and Oceania sitting prime ministers barely have any security and they can go for a walk or to buy their own groceries with literally no secret service - not with any American president.
What a life Byron, and I too love Redd Foxx! I do have a disparaging story about Redd though. My dad worked as head of education at Chino Prison, and Redd was scheduled to perform for the prisoners. Redd shows up with his entourage, and his liquor. They wouldn't let him bring liquor onto the prison grounds so Redd just leaves. I bet the prisoners were real upset at Redd, and even more upset when they found out why he left. 👍😎✌🗽
I am mexican american..... so i might not know what I am talking about. Can someone explain how it is not about race but when he says he went to Harvard to speak to black people. If someone were to say I went to only speak to white people it would be very offensive. Can someone explain. Thanks. This is a real question as I am neither race. I am latina.
And we have a mental patient in the White House right now. We have people in the Congress in the house in the senate who have mental problems and we need to vote those people out and get someone in there that have some levity in their mind. 1:17:21
26:00 our teaching system is outdated. It’s too boring! They need to shake it up, make learning more interesting and fun. Staring at a teacher in front of a chalk board is boring as hell! A lot of people can’t stand it and they drop out.
At 32:25!="I totally AGREE!! American ingenuity is still crazy creative and powerful so much so that now is the time to "GO UTOPIAN!" And unite the 2 political parties and name the 1 political party!=(( The United Utopian Party! ))
Now I have to check each episode before I watch it just to make sure Lou isn't on it. Cause I don't want to be let down and have to miss a great Guest like Dan Soder again.
Soder was on a bunch of podcasts around this time. I see nothing wrong with mixing it up a bit with someone like Lou, and I think Soder had fun and interacted with him in an entertaining way.
Education doesn't give a person hyper projection! Only GOD grants hyper projection! It may inspire ideas for a few selective people to do great things, but it doesn't give them creative abilities or help them brainstorm. All of that is an awesome gift by GOD.
Why would McDonalds spend $$ on black media companies when, as Byron says, blacks are already 40% of their customer base? Like the song Blue on Black, it doesn't change a thing. I love his sentiment but I think his business sense is skewed in this case.
Look at advertising dollars versus demographic coverage. The majority of consumer advertisement is geared toward poorer classes. However, the top end advertisements are geared toward white-washing mistakes and biases that corporations want you to forget.
Howie Mandel you have outdone yourself this is an interview that I'm going to share with my mother when I get home and you will bring her to tears I love both of you guys
Fantastic interview and great to know Byron was a paperboy like I was. When he mentioned getting .03 a paper, I had to calculate what I was making back in the early to mid 70's. Turns out I did a bit better at .04-.045 a paper for delivery in San Francisco. Jeeze, the things we did as kids to put $$ in our pocket:-) Great storytelling by him a well!
He gave a group of extras on a judge Judy type show the best motivational speech first thing in the morning for a long day of shooting.....the man is really a positive force and his stories are incredible. Best Howie episode I've seen!
And as for the mental health issues... my sister was mentally ill and she would take her meds until she felt better and stop taking them.... And it was a vicious cycle cuz it happened over and over....
Thank you byron for the education on the 60's and the 70's... Yes it was Highly subsidized by the state and the federal government making it very inexpensive to go to college and create opportunity for oneself... of course that mostly ended by the end the 80's and reaganism took hold... guess what? we are still there man! ...only it's much worse.

Really cool to hear Byron Allen tell his story.
This episode is so good, I'm shocked it only has 10K views.
Been following Byron Allen for for most of my life. He's the wealthiest comedian in history and most folks have no idea who he is. 😮
Saw Byron Allen's standup years ago. He was ok. There were much better comedians around at the time. He got a few talk show spots, but just sorta disappeared. Now we know what he was doing. Obviously, so did he.
BRILLIANT!

This was best episode! Thank you!
Byron a critical thinker, smart and empathetic. We need more good men like Byron.
Very impressed with Mr. Allen and love his highly interesting stories. Wish Howie didn’t interrupt his stories and send him on another tangent. I hope Allen writes a book.

This was the best podcast I've heard in a while.
I was going to say the same thing. I can listen to these guys all day. Mr. Allen’s stories, ideas, and principles are worth listening to.
I agree, I was completely encapsulated ☺️👏🏻
Incredible episode!! BEST ONE YET!!
I've been working 60 hrs a week since I was 21 also gave all my time and ran a company that just let me go with no package for my 20 years now I'm back to where I started driving a truck and my drive to grow is gone now I'm just day to day 😢

"Cunning as a Kid=Genius as an Adult!"~Danny Burleigh 2009
One of the most inspiring podcasts or pieces of media I've seen in a while. We NEED more of this on the internet!
Great interview!! This should earn him parts II and III.

Thanks for that life memory...
Never knew they sold life staples
These are the kind of people we need running for President
omg .. byron should run for a president !!!!!!
At 36:00 or so!= My simular story is as a little kid I had a long skinny stick and I would fish quarters out from the bottoms of washers and dryers at 2 different laundry matts back in the early 70's. Later on I would have Yard Sales and they got bigger and bigger and so did the money!
The BIGGEST mistake that Redd Foxx made was not having Sanford & Son named The REDD FOXX Show!
This is a good interview....
Wow be been sleepingbon this dude
This guy should be running for president.
I finished the video and said this to myself and I was confident I would see a comment like this. 😂👍
Facts! Sad that few people know about this articulate stalwart.
He doesn't want that job. People control you. Byron is his own guy. Being a president is not the best job.

Mr. Allen is awesome. Maybe he helps support a third party run for RFK JR??
I shared this Episode with lots of people
Everyone should

I totally agree about Kanye's state of mind these days. He is a suitable case for treatment.

Summer of 93 was a good summer
Here from H3
this may be a crazy question, but how many hamsters does jakie have by now?
*This guy is going to be President of the USA, I promise you. Especially if he runs Republican.*
What makes you think he’ll ever be a republican. There’s a reason why the modern day republican platform doesn’t appeal to minorities.
Harvard is needs based. You literally pay what you can
You Owe Landon an apology 😔
Yes and funny you should ask
Yep we have to be ONE!
1 Nation under GOD!
Lou dinos would have made this interview more entertaining. .
😂
can the title of this podcast change to increase views? Or is the powers that be stopping this one from going viral?
DOPE!
I hope you get your seat fixed

please bring Byron back! i could listen to him all day xoxox
So basically I'm saying you have to be in the right place at the right time and know the right people along with working hard.
Practicall for anything you do. It's who you know and work hard when you get there no matter how.
Yeah! The “I’m truly Blessed!” Statement. Is exactly what they mean by it.
Also, you do need to work hard, and be smart!
Wow! That was somethin else. What an exciting and learned life he has lived!
Loved listening to Bryan.
Great Episode!
Fantastic interview and great to know Byron was a paperboy like I was. When he mentioned getting .03 a paper, I had to calculate what I was making back in the early to mid 70's. Byron is a special man. I never heard Howie listen so much on his podcast. That's saying something...😂
He gave a group of extras on a judge Judy type show the best motivational speech first thing in the morning for a long day of shooting.....the man is really a positive force and his stories are incredible. Best Howie episode I've seen!

Byron Allen for President 2028.
Byron has ADHD and an incredible mind that remembers everything, almost everything.... He is an amazing talker.....
And as for the mental health issues... my sister was mentally ill and she would take her meds until she felt better and stop taking them.... And it was a vicious cycle cuz it happened over and over....
Great! Thanks!

I could of dropped out of School at 6th grade and I would still have my Utopian Hyper Projection Brainstorming Powers.
Remember the movie about a guy that ate nothing but McDonald's for a month +? Look what happened! Didn't anybody learn? Common sense people!
Byron Allen for President. The 4 E’s is a wonderful perspective. Great episode
Best podcast, I have ever heard! Byron is such a wise caring man. Thank you for all you do for humanity.
