  • What Happened To Every #1 Pick In The 90's?
The 90's was a great time for the NBA I mean Jordan basically owned it. But while Jordan was dominating there where some #1 picks brewing on the sidelines getting better and better each year, just waiting for there time to shine!
So just who where these #1 picks and what ended up happening to them?

IIRC, Glenn Robinson was initially selected but didn't make it to the Olympics due to injury.
He was replaced by Gary Payton.
On the other hand, Penny Hardaway had "a pop" on his knee which he kept playing throughout the Playoffs. Should he took the time to assess that knee, it would made a huge difference to his career.

Johnson and Mourning couldn't be on the same page. Both very volatile and physically talented. Actually, Johnson boxed for five years before being drafted, speaking of Scary Larry.

Actually if the Magic screwed up on trading the 1996 instead of trading the 1997 pick because they could have the chance to draft Kobe Bryant Steve Nash or Jermaine O’Neal and that mistake and if that didn’t happen the Magic would have been the one to 3 peat not the Lakers

The recurring theme for these players is "the early years were great!" And really, that seems like a default. They're going to bad teams and someone has to score points; getting 15-18 points on a team that won
