    This couple appears to have stepped back in time as they parade in their 1930s attire.
    Ruth Shelley, 28, and her partner Robert Oestmann, 27, are a match made in heaven as they both share a passion for living in the past.
    Not only do they wear vintage clothing, listen to wartime music, but they have also decorated their home to match the 1930's era and even own a vintage car.
    Robert, who sells whiskey for a living, is a keen cook who will often experiment with recipes from the 1700s onwards.
    Ruth, a research historian, from Bilston, West Midlands, praises their vintage lifestyle for having a beneficial impact on their relationship.

    I don't see anything wrong with living this way. After all, this is not fictional. It's a time that really took place in the world. I think this is beautiful.

    That sounds like so much fun! I love the 30s (40s, 50s, 60s...anything vintage, even victorian!) I think it is a great idea. My grandfather was a young man in the 30s, and I loved who he was. Quiet and gentle and sweet. Neat clip here.

      To be fair, not all women are like that. Also, look at the man’s wife in the video-I would rate her a 4, but she’s sweet and respects her man. You can’t expect a 9 or a 10 to treat you like that, they’re usually superficial & entitled and act like the women you were describing.
      So yeah, great women/wives are out there if you don’t base your decision on looks. @@ColdBeatz

    • @ColdBeatz
      @ColdBeatz Год назад

      @Claire Rousseau if we look at the vast majority, you'll find that what I said is true and is being done by every number on the scale... you are right, there are decent women out there, some are also 9s and 10s, not all the pretty ones are trash but my comment was based on the women of today, if we base this on generations I'm sure you don't need statistics to see that the women of today are nothing like our grandmas...

    • @clairebordeaux
      @clairebordeaux Год назад

      @@ColdBeatz Yes, you are right. I was just discussing this with my husband the other day, because our sons are now early 20’s and actively dating.
      They have expressed disappointment in the available women in general and I agree. I’m 43, have been married over 20 years now to an amazing man, who generously still thinks I am an 8 and I think he’s still a 9. Our sons are very handsome too, but they say that doesn’t really matter because the girls they encounter are money-hungry more than anything.
      I think it goes a bit deeper than that, however, because there’s always been gold diggers and always will be.
      I think the bigger problem is the shallow modern culture, highlighted by the self-obsession of social media. This wouldn’t have been possible if feminism hadn’t already poisoned many women’s minds. Feminism has taught women that they must be masculine & independent; the opposite of our innate wiring. So now they are loud, aggressive, and even hate the most beautiful thing about being a woman-becoming a mother, and refuse to give their man what he needs most from them…respect.
      Unless they unprogram themselves from believing the lies of feminism, they will never be good wives.

    I really like vintage style, I'm now up to the 1920's(because of the centenary of this iconic decade), but, I really would not like to be *stuck* in a decade forever, wearing the same clothing, hearing the same music, the same style for the rest of my life, would be very boring as I am a person who likes changes. As we say in Brazil: "É pra frente que se anda"(It's ahead that we walk).

      And it's behind that built the very path you walk on along with 100% of every idea around you. There should be no reason why we dismiss and shun other from celebrating the lives and society of the past. Much like real life you may change each year. 1920 fashion is not 1921 fashion, and 1924 fashion is certainly not 1920 fashion. No use staying in one exact year.

    Good on them. Happiness is so hard to find and they have found it without harming anyone else. Of course, it’s not entirely living in the 30’s as they have mobile phones and, presumably, use the modern NHS. But they are to be commended for taking what they like from each era.
    It is a fallacy to assume that all couples were this happy. In the 30’s, divorce still represented a social stigma for the ordinary people and wives were generally treated very badly financially after a split. In addition, there is no reason to assume that domestic violence was any less common than now, albeit better reported and with statistics more available.
