It's amazing to think that the composer and lyricist who wrote this melancholy song (Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg) also gave us all the songs for "The Wizard of Oz," including "Over the Rainbow"!

This song can only be meaningfully sung by Frank and later in his great career. The tune needs an older man with a life full of dreams and regrets

“Wee Small Hours” LP. This song when sung by a younger man it happened last night but seems like ages ago. When an older man “September of my Years” it happened ages ago but seems like last night. Brilliant piece of writing...

This crazy Sicilian seems to me the summation of all human accomplishment.
