Thanks for using my footage for the Shin Megami Tensei entry! If anyone's interested, the footage came from a big video I did all about the history of the Persona series which can be found on my channel!
When talking about Dragon Quest, you forgot Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below and Dragon Quest Heroes II, the Dynasty Warriors spin off of Dragon Quest which is different from the Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime spin off series despite having the same name. Also Dragon Quest Treasures , which was a spin-off of Dragon Quest XI. Not to mention when Dragon Quest shared the stage with Mario in Fortune Street for a Monopoly-like party game. There might be more, but those are just the ones I know about. It's a *huge* series.
Sonic in a racing game where he's in a vehicle always gave me a laugh. This is especially funnier when Sega gave a press release years ago about Sonic's actual speed.
Super Mario is a bad example. Why? Because Super Mario Bros. was originally considered as a Spin-off from Mario Bros. which in itself was a Donkey Kong Spin-off. You started somewhere in the middle of the branches instead at the stem.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Resident Evil Outbreak games. They were team-based online classic resi, and they were great, but the amount of faff needed to get the ps2 online back in the day, and how they removed co-op from the European versions entirely, meant it wasn't worth it for most. If they remade them in the new engine though, woof!
I really thought that Shin Megami Tensei would be number one. When your spin-off series is more popular than the main one, then you know the spinning off is going off. You could even argue that "Shin Megami Tensei" is technically a spin-off of "Megami Tensei". It sorta is, but "Shin Megami Tensei" just basically became what the entire series is known as now.
The most recent Sonic game is a spinoff. A free visual novel murder mystery April fool's game. It's also one of the highest rated games in Steam history.
Would Luigi's Mansion be considered a Mario spin off, or nah? Is the green boy popular enough to just say he is his own character warranting his own series?
Street Fighter Has Too Many Spinoffs The ones I Enjoyed were the Street Fighter EX series and The Capcom Vs series the live action film Tie In game can go in the bin F*** that game
Except no Kingdom Hearts games are spin-offs. Sure, there are three times more non-numbered entries than numbered ones, but every single one of them is an integral part of the storyline. At this point, the thing that a numbered KH game means is that particular game will feature Sora as the primary playable character for over 90% of the gameplay.
Resident Evil CV isn't really a spin off, is a sequel to RE 2m RE 3 is the actual spin off..... that is because Capcom had a contract with Sony and they werent' happy that RE 3 was coming to the Dreamcast, so Capcom changed the namesRE Nemesis to RE 3 Nemesis and RE 3 to RE Code Veronica.

Shut up, I'm already lost
Maybe you could tell me which title "I'm not a bad slime, you know?" comes from? I am coming up empty.
Honestly, a lot of Japanese games have this but the Fate franchise comes to mind
It’s the price we pay for massively popular games some of these spin offs spawned their own genres and are amazing in their own right.

Halo: ODST was diggity dope...my favorite Halo single-player campaign game.
the funny thing about Mario having so many spin-offs is that the main Mario series itself is a spin-off
correction: Shin Megami Tensei could never have enough spin offs, let alone too many
Sounds like we got enough Mega Man games for a every game from worst to best 🤙

Is final fantasy’s greatest spin off technically Kingdom Hearts? Which has its own spin off line?
Spin off ing...... Good one

FF with over 90 spin offs and more to come😂

Why they haven't just made a Chao garden spinoff is beyond me.
@@wanderlustwarrior they might now that Poglings is a thing!
I'll take every Final Fantasy thing I can get
Would Luigi's Mansion be considered a Mario spin off, or nah?

Spawn needs a spinoff game or reboot.
Iv never played them but that Yakuza series is mental. I dont wben know where to begin with it tbh. Seems like spinoff central to me
How about video games that have many BOOTLEG versions?
"Merry-o". Good grief.
Kingdom Hearts gets my vote. Between KH2 and 3, they did everything they could to NOT finish the series.
Megaman Legends were awesome games
my favourite video game spin- offs of all time is mario
After Assassin's Creed 3, the series really lost it's identity.
Street Fighter Has Too Many Spinoffs The ones I Enjoyed were the Street Fighter EX series and The Capcom Vs series the live action film Tie In game can go in the bin F*** that game
Made by the people who did golf
#1 is mario, hands down
Kingdom Hearts ?
You mention Mario but don't mention Rabbids or DDR?
so we just gonna pretend like resident evil outbreak wasn't a thing? cool. even capcom does that
Kigdom heart's deserves its own spot

No COD?
What spin offs has CoD had? Unless you count Black Ops etc as spin offs.
@@LordLOC There's a ton of COD spin offs on mobile and hand held.
👽
Hee ho!
I think it's time Ubi end Assassin's Creed. It has been really stale.
