For sure! I don''t even need to see the players' numbers to know who's who! Still a Leafs fan after all those years. Perhaps the Stanley Cup will make its way to our Leafs this season. It will be that much better if they choose a captain to hoist it! My pick is Tavares.
This was a main reason i enjoy and respect and appreciate the Toronto maple leafs of the original six days, they were majestic and tough and won the ganes they needed to win.... something todays maple leafs will never accomplish.... another year another first round exit
They were a better built roster too. The defense was either the best or second best at the time, Montreal having the only close challenger. They also had clutch goaltending, from Johnny Bower and Don Simmons.
It's interesting how the producers of this film synchronized color film footage they shot with an audio tape of the TV coverage, making this look like the games had been broadcast in color. In reality, TV viewers in Canada (CBC, which carried the whole series) and Chicago (WGN, which carried the games played in Toronto) had to settle for watching TV coverage in black-and-white. It wasn't until 1966 that any games of the Stanley Cup Finals (only weekend afternoons) were broadcast in color in the United States; and not until the 1967 playoffs that NHL games were colorcast on Canadian television.
There is very little RAW colour CBC broadcast material remaining from the early days of colour broadcasting as they didnt use colour VTR until the early 70's and archived everything on B&W Kino-scope.
Any use of this video without the express written consent of the National Hockey League, President Gary Bettman, and the Toronto Maple Leafs is wholeheartedly encouraged.

Yeah, you don't hear all of that growling and screeching on a potential scoring chance like we hear from Doc Emrick.
Awesome hockey.
Glenn Hall one of the all time great goalies. I read he’d get so nervous before games that he would throw his guts up.
Hockey´s heroic age.
Great series

I think Hewitt sat in a booth watching this film and did play by play synchronized to the film.
Wild game 5, 8-4 for Leafs
Note at this time players still sat together in the penalty box...in Chicago - separated by an Andy Frain usher.
This is amazing. I heard that these games were televised by CBS and that’s why it is in colour. The CBC didn’t have the technology

Toronto Star Sports columnist Milt Dunnell @ 6:35 , if I'm correct. He was a good one.
Make the Leafs great again.
Dammit, Leafs' management will give it their level best
Good to see this one too bad the Hawks lost it but I have never seen this highlight film before
I am happy that the Hawks lost! Go Leafs Go! LOL...It was great hockey by both teams!
"Hail Hail the Maple Leafs" sounds like "With Cat Like Tread" from "Pirates of Penzance." Does anybody have the lyrics to it?

the vaseline on the face was believed to help prevent cuts
The good old days, the golden age of sport, when men were men and women were also men.
women were women back then but that sounds funny.
FOSTER HEWITT!
Back then it was the Stanley Cup Finals. Now they call it the Final.
ace
Not a hockey guy but can the goalies choose not to wear mask guards if they request it?
i will never forget watching on tv went crazy. GO LEAFS GO were NUMBER 1
