I took my Language Arts GED test today. I've been watching your videos, especially this one since writing the essay had me a little nervous. I got a 5 out of 6 on my essay, and a total score of 170! Thank you for the videos, they have helped me so far, and not only on this test, but I also passed my Math and Science test. One more to go.
I passed my RLA yesterday and I just wanted to share my experience with essay. I was expecting to have two articles for each argument. Instead I had one article with the arguments kinda mixed up together throughout the article. For example in one paragraph there were two sentences about one argument and the third sentence was about the other argument. It was strange. Neither argument had any stats or specific evidence really so it was kinda difficult to pick 3 reasons for the body paragraphs. 1 argument was more opinionated than the other, and that's what I built my essay on. I got 3/6 score on the essay so I must've done something right. Hope that made sense and good luck everyone!
Passed my language arts test today on the first try. I’ve watched every video you have over the last two days and it really helped me accomplish my goal. Thank you for everything!!!
Please can u tell me how many questions were there on the grammar plus the reading side and was RLA REALLY THOUGH ??? AM GOING THROUGH REALLY A HARD TIME ... could u tell me what to do or work on ? Also how about the essay ????
Did any of you pass? I just started studying a bit and doing the social studies this Tuesday. You have 3 tries so there isn’t a lot of pressure the first go around.
I will do my writing test in two days, I’m so stressed out! And thank you Cohan for this video, your voice and suggestions encourage me. Hopefully I will pass it🤞
Thank you for the motivation and encouragement!! I'm going for my ged soon,I'm just trying to prepare my brain with skills that I lost over time. So thank you for your help.
The GED language arts question is not always the same question, every time you fail and retry it’s different every time, so be prepared for different questions, but the same concept apply to every questions.
Harry Chen not tough at all. Try to find something that related to facts or scientific studies. That can be one of your thesis. Find the negative thing from other article to be your second point why the article you chose is a better one. Then, do one more advantage from your the article which looks like the same as the video one. You end with a decent conclusion. I believe you can get at least 4/6
So in the essay we only state who has the better argument ? Based on their evidence. Is it necessary to mention the one who doesn’t have a better argument. ??
Sir can u make a video about how to note or spot the 3 reasons it is really hard and i dobt know how to.Sometimes both give good evidance but i dont know which to pick.. please help!!!
Yes, they do. It's at the end of your score report, which you can access on ged.com. (Your essay on the Ready test, though, isn't graded and doesn't factor into your Ready test score.)
I'm struggling with my GED essays and I have to wrote my exams and I got 100 out of 200 and my points don't go up so I have used chatGPT to help me and they still give me 100 out of 200 of all 4 test essays. Can you please give me some ideas of advise where I can get my points up with the essays please.
The essay isn’t really hard as you think. The introduction is pretty easy then the body paragraphs you just gotta look for evidence like facts, date studies, or data. Then the conclusion is pretty easy like the introduction. Last time I took it I didn’t even finish till like the 3rd paragraph and I still scored 2/6 but ended up with a 144. Lol

Hello David, I'm looking for someone to 'critique' and 'grade' my essay writing in advance of taking the GED RLA portion. Is this something you offer or could you recommend someone? My goal is not to 'pass', but to get a 'perfect' score. The few places I have seen that offer this service do not seem to speak English as a first language and the guidance they offer is minimal. I would appreciate any advice you could offer. Thank you for your videos, they have been extremely informative. Looking forward to your guidance regarding an essay prep review. Thank You
In another video that is actually on the official GED Testing Service youtube channel, they say that you are supposed to use formal language. The argument could really be about anything.
Here's a little tip I always learned in English class R.E.S.T meaning RESTATE, EXPLAIN, SUPPORT, TIE IT UP. Meaning restate the question, explain why you feel that way, give supporting quotes from the test a finally wrap you essay up.
