USA got all their army tactics/skill from Great Britain, as they used a lot of guys from the British army...

Fighting Force Thats just silly talk - The US has an excellent Military as does the UK, we can always learn from each other, if you think otherwise then you are "arrogant" and arrogance leads to needless loss of life and is not encouraged in the Military. Confidence is the ability to know you can deal with what comes your way, Arrogance is belief that nothing can stand in your way regardless of circumstances and that is a dangerous premise and means you don't respect your opponent or their capabilities.

Fighting Force The British themselves copied the Prussians
"At that time Prussia was looked on as a great school master in the martial arts, as France was later, and as Germany is now. The English army has been mainly a copyist of other people's methods since the century began. If, after Crimea or the Italian campaign of 1859, we adopted kepi shaped hates, baggy "pegtop" trousers and "booted overalls" for riding, so, when Germany became successful we copied her "Blucher boots", flat topped forage caps, infantry helmet, and rank distinctions!"
"In this case too, the Prussian system was the basis of our drill instruction, and, with but slight modifications, so remained until 1870, when linear formations gave place to extended order."
Page 157 "The Story of the British Army" by C.C. King.
"Following Frederick's striking victories in the Silesian Wars, most armies including Britain, quickly clamored to copy the Prussian way of war, and a quarter century later this process of adopting Prussian techniques continued under the Germanophilic sons of George III. This created an era, beginning at the middle of the century and extending to its last decade, when the British army (like others) shared much with this German model, further creating similarity and commonalities between various armies, just as the French innovations had impacted Western Europe a century before."

German Forces and the British Army: Interactions and Perceptions, 1742-1815
      By Mark Wishon
An account dated from the year 1801
"The modern improved system is derived from Frederick, the father of the great King of Prussia. He was the first that caused the manual exercises to be contracted, and then the motions performed close to the body. This new method came soon to be copied or imitated by other nations. About 1757, a new manual of exercise was introducted into the British army, a good deal resembling the Prussian, and this exercises has of late been simplified and reduced to a smaller number of motions."
"the Spaniards were reckoned to have the best disciplined infantry in Europe."

I think the British army should use the USA army helmet and M16 rifles.

Personally I think the British kit looks better, but I could be biased... Besides. We need to look different. Otherwise how do you know who it is you're looking at?

    • @FightingForce1

I don't think they should, British uniform looks better and they have their own weapons which they have always used.

No, because the MOD are getting budget cuts. Our guns and equipment are all custom made, it would save the MOD money ( the government ) and we could spend that money on better military vehicles, planes, boats and helicopters. They are planning on stopping the Apache helicopter that is custom. It visit the UK army 4X more than the American army and they got more and it was cheaper. This showed we can not afford all of our custom equipment. If all the branches of the USA military use it why can't we. Also it's not just the Americans using thy equipment its its other army's too. The point is it will save us money and we could spend it on other things.
