He's just mumbling things that come into his head, it's only a rehearsal demo after all. I think as long as he had a vocal melody, it didn't matter. "Music come first, lyrics are second." Most lyrics were frantically scribbled minutes before recording. I love this version though, very raw.
There's a line between rock and metal, and I never set foot on the metal side. Just didn't get into it. Not my thing. I'm not sure what the definitive difference is though I always felt it was a matter of "polish," and "production." I say all that to say that this is heavier than a lot of metal I've heard, but the difference is that this is fucking *raw.* And I love it.
So right! I think nirvana is heavier than much metal. I too think that theres a line betweet rock and metal, but I dont know what this line is like. I think rock and even bands like nirvana are influenced by blues and carrying its soul. Metal doesnt.
That, what you aimed and you're hitting in the center with that comment right here, is what really helped me to find myself and find some acoustic guitar and start making noises and melodies in rhythm i liked, not by the book. Later i was a part of a good band, but that 'raw' moment of expression, Nirvana's raw, helped and in that way influenced me so much, that i couldn't really measure i what way this band means to me, in my life.
This song is almost metal. A lot of songs he wrote during their Bleach era were almost metal. If You Must, Paper Cuts, Negative Creep. Kurt had the ability to write truly heavy music that sat perfectly between punk&metal.
@@claudiasolomon1123 yeah, exactly and i love it, just my raste of how a guitar band should sound. That's the sound i feel and choose, or the sound chose me, who knows, but the 90s, man.. Are special, don't you think so?
Yes, it's true! Kurt always wrote shortly before the recording, and words were aroused by feelings very impulsive and obsessive .. recording is really poor. for me is the soul of the song this version! thanks for the comment!
That was the case for Bleach....For Nevermind and In Utero Kurt threw different lines of his poems into the song. Most of the lyrics for In Utero were written in 92 after Nevermind blew up

So much more rawness and passion behind this demo version

Phantastic!!!!
one of the best riffs of his. YKYR, milk it, something in the way (bbc radio version) , negative creep, breed.... genius
Not his riff. It was taken from the Melvins ' It's Shoved

Sensacional!
the demo is so much better in so many aspects than any other vresio,n, pure raw masterpiece
the album version is pure and raw but sounds way better.
@@SonikJesus these guys think that just because it's studio version it's worse, my dude we're talking about Nirvana everything is breathtaking
No.
@@monarcas5502 In Utero was really well recorded. Demoing is just a loose draft designed to prevent you from forgetting anything of note.
Brilliant
It’s cool and heavy but the Albini 2013 mix is the killer for me - the natural room reverb in his vocals during the choruses sounds beautiful-
@ 2:00 That is what seperates Nirvana from every band. So intense!!!
Kurt in all lyrics with the word "friends"
Ecto-plasma, ecto-skeletal
Obituary birthday
Your scent is still here in my place of recovery
Sounds so crunchy this is sick
Yes, especially since the words of Kurt, he wrote at the time that recorded in the studio often, and then ever changed .. ;)
RUclips won't let me tell you what you are. It rhymes with hit-shed.
You're not supposed to listen to this unless you pay 60 bucks for it and you buy it under the counter where all Bootlegs once were sold.
Nothing like this NEVER
That's an awesome version, so damn intense!
I remember when Buzz Osborne wrote this and called it 'It's Shoved'
Definitely sounds like he tookntht riff..whether it was intentional...well never know...but it def sounds exact!
My mother is my father!!!
I like it!
pure rock , good song n vrery good video sometimes view pictures never i see i dont know you know your right !!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I wish they had had 2 guitars all the way through. They sound so brutal with Pat.
I like this better it's raw plus the lyrics are funnier
you can really hear his ds-1 with his jag in this song
why this gear? why not a ds-2 and a mustang?
If you listen to the reading sound compared to this they’re quite close
@@vinny._2590 which one do you mean? 91 or 92? Because in 92 it was ds-2

Felt kinda like helmet
kurt did like to change up the lyrics, mabey thats why.
I like this version better
I like more the From the muddy... live version than any studio one, which sound something dense and heavy in a bad sense.

umm this is "It's Shoved" by The Melvins
I can hear the inspiration one way or another.
That's why this is Buzz's favorite Nirvana song

So now demos are called "alternate versions?" Smfh... The world gets dumber everyday.
Well isnt a demo a precursour of the final version making it an alternate version ?
the world moves on every day. demos aren't necessary in the digital age.
Video doesn’t work for me, but nice demo.
kurt was probably trying to get the words right but he was trashed and adlibed.
