I was excited for your new project already, but your desire to knuckle down on keeping it under wraps just makes me more keen. When I was growing up in regional Australia in the 80s you would only know a band had a new album when it popped up in the record store, this takes me to that nostalgic feeling of bring a teenage metal fan. So thanks for that.

Crowbar rules! Kirk is such an awesome soloist in Down, i wish he'd do more of that in Crowbar

Good stuff, brother! Stoked for the mystery project, can't wait. Hope to get out into this beautiful country of ours and catch some good shows soon.
Really enjoyed Austin when I was out there a couple weeks back, unfortunately the bachelor-party crowd I was with leaned more towards strip clubs than catching some local bands, but I'll be back. Austin smacked me a lot of NOLA, where my heart lives and always will.
    Keep keepin' it real.

Im writing these words, on your channel - because of Crowbar/Kirk Windstein. When I caught you guys, ‘Spirit Adrift’, on tour with them in 22’, I was instantly, a fan. I love ruining “other” peoples worlds, with the ‘Dream Weaver’ cover. 😆

I remember seeing the now classic 'All I Had (I Gave)' music video back in the day, and I went out and got the self titled 'Crowbar' album shortly thereafter, and I've been a fan ever since... I got to speak to Kirk himself after a Napalm Death/Crowbar concert in Aarhus, Denmark back in 1996, and although it was only for a couple of minutes, the dude made a lasting impression on me. I think you would be hard pressed to find an more genuine, heartfelt and down to earth dude than Kirk, besides the fact that he is also one of the best riff-masters and songwriters out there. Hail Kirk, Hail Crowbar! 🤘🤘

I could talk about Kirk and Crowbar all day. I discovered them in a German record store of all damn places with Sonic Excess. Back then, you could listen to a CD before you bought it over there. Within 30 seconds of Lasting Dose I popped it out of the CD player and RAN to the cashier to pay for it. At that time I was super jaded, nu-metal'ed out and I needed that CD. Still to this day one of my favorite discoveries. Only a handful of bands got me that excited- Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy, Pantera's Vulgar, High on Fire Blessed Black Wings...Sonic Excess is right there with them.

Your tangent on my video rig rundown question was fucking gold! I share very similar sentiments on the disease of social media. However, I’m on my own for any video content and promotional material for my band and I gotta channel it somehow. Thanks for the response.
PS-I never knew we needed a unit of measurement for BRE..but alas the BRPM it is! 🤘

My favorite modern method for discovering new bands is Encyclopedia Metallum. Checking out upcoming albums, latest reviews, cross referencing bios to see who was in what band etc. Back in the day I’d order stuff from the Relapse catalog purely based on the description 🤘

Talked to John from solitude aeturnus this weekend at born late records. Mentioned how they were THE band a lot of people went to hell’s heroes for. Was cool to chat with him for a bit about music, hoping for more shows.

@@BornTooNate Ah that’s right, a band that’s too hard to rank for me no stinkers in the catalogue and about 4 or 5 albums that if someone said to me it’s their best I wouldn’t argue with them haha at a push the self titled would be my favourite though, just seen them for the fourth time in February, killer as always

WHOA.... ITS CROWBAR.. Sonic Excess In Its Purest Form IS A MASTERPIECE!! Also the best cover ever... CROWBAR PLAYING DREAMWEAVER!! Also one of my favorite OG Beavis And Butthead music video bits: ruclips.net/video/84Oum7iWclM/видео.htmlsi=i8EMi6ShPj5X_Q1y The Nile Demo is soooo good its quick but, "Ramses Bringer Of War" Demo is their heaviest and best material that isn't their debut full length. I dig everything up to and including Annihilation Of The Wicked but then I Fall off, saw them 20 years ago on the oddest tour bill. It was maybe the second Behemoth usa tour, Demigod wasn't out yet they opened, then The Black Dahlia Murder (Miss You Trevor), Nile and the mighty KING DIAMOND!!! It was just weird because at the time TBDM were doing really rad tours with like Vital Remains and other legendary Death Metal acts. I was actually talking to Trevor on AIM when he found out about the King Diamond tour. But I had heard early Behemoth and their album that starts with a Z had just came out so it wasn't bad. But I saw Mortal Wound with Deceased, Exhorder and Vio-Lence last week and Mortal Wound totally won the crowd over along with Deceased but getting to Meet Pat O'Brien was sick. He is playing guitar for Exhorder on this tour and was cool as hell. But more hybrid shows please!! I love when I can see like a noise project such as GOD IS WAR play with Blood Incantation and Jarhead Fertilizer! Or when Nails would do a show with Dying Fetus which now and then made perfect sense but people hurt my head and act like Dying Fetus were never into Hardcore or never had a hybrid Death Metal with HxC breakdowns band actually win them over ,I don't know but I was at the Philly show when you were in Gatecreeper where Outer Heaven opened up and destroyed. Pre-Relapse they were seriously in Philly like a few times a month playing with everyone from War Metal bands to Heavy Metal it was an awesome time frame in Modern Death Metal History.
