- Featured is a game played at the 1946 Kazan Championship between Rashid Nezhmetdinov and P. Ermolin. Nezhmetdinov opts for the Levenfish variation against the Sicilian Dragon and executes e5 at the first available moment. Due to Ermolin's poor reaction to this advance, Nezhmetdinov gains a winning advantage after only 8 moves. A unique position arises after Nezhmetdinov's 14th move where he poses three threats: a queen capture, a mate in 1, and a mate in 2. There is no defense to all of these threats.

Always happy to click for more Nezhmetdinov :)
Thank you, Jerry! I'm loving these days seeing these new analyses from you.
Love Nezhmetdinov's games that you've analyzed, and I'm looking forward to this one.
Thanks for the consistent uploads Jerry! Best chess channel on YT
Jerry, Your analyses, are Gold.
Your channel is the only intellectual chess channel on RUclips in my opinion.
Thank you.
What a cool game it was by the legend non-GM Nezh!!
Care to give me your Instagram?
Jerry, you're doing a world of good for chess. Keep it up, from KE.
Loving the consistency Jerry
Well done. Loved all the different scenarios.
Thank you Jerry, your analysis of classic games is my favorite of your content.
great attacking chess from Rasheed.

Fantastic Analysis! Thanks!

We love you Jerry ❤
Well, THAT escalated quickly!!!
Best class yet
Nice!
Very helpful
Something that I have seen other chanels do with great effect is that the board changes color (to like a greyed out for example) for hypothetical lines. This is helps to keep track of what the main line of the game was which can be tricky to keep track of when multiple possible lines are explored before returning to the main line of the game. It also helps with not having to mention that you are going back to the main line of the game every single time because the board itself shows that. I suspect that they are using some software that helps with that (as opposed to through editing, which would be a nightmare), but I think that it is worth looking into it.
Jerry did the board-grayscale thing for a few videos earlier this year, but then switched back. I personally found it to be harder to follow instead of easier, since Jerry's already very clear to me about when it's hypothetical or not, but there might be some other way that works for more people?
@@AzureLazuline oh really? I was really busy at the time, so I may have missed it. But I also may have just not have made a note of it at the time. I had to think back recently why I follow better certain videos compared to others and that was a thing that I made note of only after looking for it.
I can absolutely see how it could be distracting for some though. Maybe he tried it and most people didn’t like it? Or maybe he himself didn’t like it. Either way, I’m glad to know that he at least gave it a try.
Do you happen to know of an example?
Is it true Rashid was 5 times Soviet champion? Most impressive if so
I want to see Sicilian dominate, not get dominated....great game! I still believe! Even after all these losses...
Jerry, could you include the PGN, please?
Either this is a great opening for White, or an abysmal one for Black. I’ll have to go over this again. Especially surprising is the early PKB4 for White. Because, usually, when I play that configuration as White (Grande Prix Attack, etc), I get beaten. 🤔
Now THAT’s one opening a player better memorize!
Thanx, Jerry.
Hot dang
❤❤❤
Oh my god
wow
Typical smash from Nehzmetdinov. thanks Jerry.
Found'em
Hello Jerry!
wowow
If e5 on move 7, the problem is not on d4, because Nxc6, but then Qxd1 Nxd1bxc6, and even though fxe5 is next, Black will simply move Ng4 - if Bf4: Bg7...e5 will fall. White's a pawn down, with a inferior position
Somehow I thought I remember this game. Have you posted it before?
It’s sometimes tricky to recall what games I’ve covered with a 16-year-old channel, but no I don’t think so.
@@ChessNetwork It is also tricky to recall after 16 years being a fan of your channel 😁
Hi Jerry.
15 moves again!
Ouch. Any idea what the ratings of these players are?
chess ratings were established in the '70s
Best for me London
Hi everyone here is Daniel
3:31 I had a lot of fun analysing this position after Black tries f6 to prolong the game. I think I would struggle playing as White against anyone that is higher elo than me.
You’re up a rook though
@@looinrims but black has fighting chances.
@@MrLimon27 there’s no fighting chance down a rook at high level play without any counterplay
Is your name spelled Gerry, or Jerry?
Jerry.
End Bishop to e6 ?
on move 10? the f pawn is pinned so black would lose the bishop and the queen. so it's probably the worst move available to black
How did you come across this game?
Pick one:
Sort grandmaster games by the lowest moves.
Look at random grandmaster game and share one you find interesting
Follow a grandmaster games in their career and share one you find instructive
@@stroodleboots5360 but Rashid is never a grandmaster in his life.
:)
Don't mindlessly play Bg7, got it.
Again, ,interesting and instructive but a little too much for my chess brain.
That's not how it happened I was there
The Sicilian has been refuted by engines anyway.
Poor narration, not sure how it fails but it does fail t teach.
Poor criticism, you're not being constructive or suggesting improvements. Could have spared the comment.
Get lost Smith
Learn English then come back.
I disagree. I find Chess Networks Style and narration far more educational than any other channel like Agadmators.
This comment feels like something a Russian bot would say. Username John Smith with broken English? This doesn't add up.
