Howdy! Lots of you are asking for the route. If you check out my Strava it's on there in daily segments. www.strava.com/athletes/julietelliottuk
Hey, Juliette. Ride looked like a ton of fun (especially with the crew) & totally inspiring. In looking for the route in Strava, for some reason it's not showing. Any ideas or is it necessary to do a follow request to see the dailies? Thanks & great job.
Feel like having bagels 🥯 and PB now 😋😋
🌮
I smiled all the way through this one, which seems to happen frequently with your vids.. almost always a feel good venture. priceless.
Running the Big Sur marathon was one of the best experiences ever. I can only imagine how good it is to see more of that beautiful countryside offroad on a bike!
Everything about this video was perfect. What a awesome trip.
I am glad you had fun in my backyard! You picked a perfect time of year to come for a ride. Everything is so green this time of year.
And what really makes a trip like this is the people, and you have some super experienced people.
Love all your videos but especially love your exuberance for new experiences. Looking forward to what spins up next...
Well done! It's adventures and stories like this that renew my hope for humanity. Cheers
That looked one of the coolest most enjoyable bike packing adventures I've ever watched, and the usa californian vibe really does exist 👍🙂
What a fun adventure. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome, great vid. You looked like you had a great time. Any bikepacking adventure with Gus must be epic! Wish I could keep up!
Wow! That ride looked amazing. So jealous.
Passing the j at the end of day makes all the play worth it in every way.
sounds pretty biased coming from you... JAY ;)
Visit Colorado too :)
Probably a spliff
the small "sneak a toke" pipes are nice. with the screw lid and straight design. for trips one can put flower and concentrate and it will last for a loong time.
What a trek! Very fun; thanks for sharing.
Honestly, this looks like so much fun. I'm jealous.
Amazing trip! Love Sara so much! One of my inspirations.

Casual spliffs at the end .. I approve
I love cycling that area. The ride back to San Diego was nice too!
This video got me to start riding my MB3 again and it felt good! Safe riding.
A Californian version of a 1970s CTC club weekend.. Seemed a throwback to the good old days and simpler times,, . Really laid back. nice roads and scenery. !
so non-stop happy in this video
Awesome trip! Looking forward to someday doing a little bike packing! Just completed my first century in my 105 slate!
Loved the vlog, Juliet!
PB on the bagel is the way to go!
Soo incredibly awesome!!
I have never been in California, but I'm astonished on how similar the scenery is to the scenery here in Greece! I should probably make a visit there! Nice ride, and a great channel as well!
Juliet welcome to the state 👍🏾😊👌🏾💙
Ultra romance, wow you have just stepped up your level of cool riding with the main man .

I love it that you were packing w/"Ronnie"/Ben & "Old Nam". Those guys are rad! Gorgeous video, as usual! So glad you're enjoying the U.S.
I thought that was the ultraromance dude!
Gorgeous vid - thanks for posting it - please do a debrief about what you learned from your travel companions on this first trip in terms of kit and food choices - thanks
I'm already planning that!

Great Great Video... Love it! thanks for share
Fair play Juliet what a ride looks absolutely fantastic amazing blog
My legs hate me Love it 😊 😂 😂
So jealous as I’m sure Dave is to
Amazing
My Apidura seatpack also hits my wheel. After a few days riding in MTB trails with it, I start ignoring that swish sound because slowing down for bumps sucks! After 2 two week trips, no scuff marks even though it hit the tire countless times on bumps and dips. Planning to make an inner lightweight plate to minimize that though, sort of a liner that would line the bottom. I have at least 3inch clearance but under a whipping force the bag flexes....gotta sort that out! Thanks for the vid!
Love your stuff
Thanks Martin
Found your channel, really loving your videos. They are inspiring and a joy to watch, thank you.
Looked like a great trip. Ever thought about taking your marin to marin county and ride some of the areas the various models of the bikes are named after?
your passing it the wrong way!!!!!!!!! epic video really would like to give this bike packing ago.
I want the GPX for this!! Beautiful!
. Picked up a specialized crosstrail this week .Ordered an ibera rack last night . put a contract on a cabin in east Tn Cherokee national Forest about 2 miles from Unicoi gap .yesterday . Anticipating some dirt road mountain adventures and maybe some bike camping as well . in the very near future . Been strictly a roadie so far but I am expanding my horizon . The crosstrail beast weighs almost double my Madone but i like it . I like a campfire too .
Wow that was a beautiful vlog to watch, thank you for sharing. Total peace and unlimited freedom, yes it's about time to leave the road, cars, traffic and pollution, and head for some trail/gravel fun. It would have been a nice bonus to focus on the gear of your companions, who seem to be pretty seasoned bikepackers. When/Where is your next adventure?
Absolutely, I would have liked to have done that but I felt a bit shy about filming all the time
It is nice to have Mciver on your trip he can stitch up someone ..change those tubeless tyres that have that have that goop sealant running out and improvice and make moonshine if it suited him
the very end, just wow
I live in Cali, and this is a bucket list trip. Jealous you did it before me🤷🏻♂️😉
There’s being down to earth and in tune to nature and there standing around starkers round a bonfire with ya bits out but all the lady’s are dressed! 😂 you have interesting friends !!!
Well done!
Julie - awesome vid. Beautiful scenery. Great pick on the route. Definite opportunity for improvement on your fire ring. Having suffered through the Thomas fire, the second largest in Cal history, I kind of cringed watching your fire so close to combustible fuel. I am happy that a ranger was nowhere nearby. Take it from a camper/packer who has been cited for fire ring no no, be careful in Cali with fire. Cheers!
Props to the two seaters, that's touch to do
Everyone’s setup is a bit wonky the first few times out. With the countless bit of gear available on the market, it’s a given you will look like a seasoned pro in no time! The growler mount will prove it. As usual way too much fun as it should be. Just another sweetest of days.
......’Hydration pack that totally sucks!’.......haha, very good!.
Nice glad you had a good time here in CA.. now I want to go skinny dipping in a cold river lol stuck in town...
bikepacking is the best : )
I did SF to LA and camped along the way : )
it's funny how antisocial I am
all those personalities, together interacting blegh
I did my ride alone and I ate it up like I was starving for it
sad, I'm probably missing out, but it feels so much more comfortable alone
Sweet,I used to live in the Los Padres National Forrest,Awsome😁😏🚵🚴🚵
One of the first videos I’ve seen that inspired me to try bikepacking. Hoping to bike from San Jose to Santa Cruz sometime soon! Cheers!
Did you do it already? I've ridden that area a lot (road bike touring)
Jared Crawford-Levis I havent, do you have any recommended routes?

Laphroig single malt scotch is my favorite one of them anyway Juliet

Sweet! Maybe we'll so some local spots!
Jealous!!!
Love the vids!
awesome.
Great little trip. It would have been very useful to have seen your set-up/kit carried etc.
I very happy that you are having a great time...
What day did you actually get to cali
Yeah 🌟 big sur 🏄 Oui 🌟 🚲
So sorry if you have a video explaining this, already, but what container do you suggest using when flying with your bike? Pittsburgh bike shops are so limited as far as box and equipment rentals, etc, so I’ll probably have to buy one. What brands do you suggest, any nice features we should know about when comparing brands, any pro tips when packing my bike; any and all suggestions would be a big help! Thanks!
How was it traveling with your bike across the big pond? Always wanted to go biking in parts of Europe but didn’t know how difficult it was to get my bike over there.
You had Ultra Romance with you? Amazing!
Awesome..
And as far as the person who got injured it depends really on how bad the wound was usually I just glue it with super glue if it's worse than that then I use a combination of a butterfly stitch with duct tape and then the glue if it's really bad I have a few more details for such things because I literally had to stitch myself up in the leg after pulling out a branch out of my knee
i taped it and splinted it, got back to cambria and had it sewn up (24 hours later) i no longer have feeling in the finger above the cut :(
This is why bike packing is becoming so popular.
yes, thanks to the soooo cool influencers, LOL
Hey Juliet I love your videos, have you looked into insta 360 one x camera? I think it would easier for you to ride and take pictures of your self and surrounding scenery while still mainly focusing on riding.
So impressed you knew how to pronounce Laphroaig. You really must like it!
Sure do!
Interesting crowd. It struck me that our Julie, the Brit, is the rowdiest of the bunch. That doesn’t happen often in California.
I've met my quota for seeing guys stand by a campfire with their junk hangin out
@sdn40 hahhahahha. so tru. who stands by a campfire, really?
everyone!
@@JulietElliottsChannel Niice.
Got to dry them balls after a long ride.
Amazing keep it up
Thank you!
Check out Alpkit’s Lumpa and Exo rail for stabilizing seatpacks. Speaking of UK brand Alpkit you should approach them for a sponsorship. They make great stuff from bikes to gear!
You came at the right time. By May everything starts drying out.
