Thank you very much for that, I agree with everything you have said, I have got one had it about 4 months now, I paid £1600, at first I thought I had made a mistake getting it, I'm only learning to play but now I've experimented with it I absolutely love it, you can get some lovely sounds from it, also I think it looks great.
Thank you for the very interesting video. In fact I’m undecided whether to buy a Yamaha CP73 or the Kog Sv2. I thought the Sv2 because it is equipped with amplification, but if your opinion on amplification is not very positive, it makes no sense to buy it (also between the version without amplification and the one without, the difference in cost is considerable. Another thing I wanted to clarify is the "click" of the keys. Since I play at low volume (or headphones) in the apartment, I wouldn’t want that "click" to be heard too much, disturbing the sound quality. Is CP73 really better?
The click is not really noteworthy. The Yamahas tend to have quite heavy to play keybeds: I would really play The Yamaha to test it. I love all the vintage sounds in the Korg, I think this Sets it apart from Yamaha. The Korgs have many Buttons and knobs, Yamaha is more spartanic
I use a roland RD 2000 with a Hammond XL5 over it on a two tier stand. The controls and knobs on the top of the roland are virtually unusable as the Hammond is close to the top of the roland. I looked at alternatives to the awesome roland, as far as everything about it other than the controls on top, but most keyboards come that way. The exception I found is the Korg sv2. All controls are on the front of the piano, so it is no longer an issue of hidden buttons I cannot use.
@@scottrogers2831 too late. 😅 I just bought a Nord Piano 5 to replace my 8yo Stage 2. I dont regret it though. Love the piano 5 and its dual piano engine and dual synth.
Hi Marcus, thanks for the good review. What ist your opinion about the knobs on the piano, for Speed, Intensity or Drive? They seem a bit wonky to me and they do not respond well to changes. Sometimes I have to turn 5 clicks to get 1 light up/down and sometimes the light changes by 2 steps with one click.
@@jamespwest523 Thank you. I looked at the software editor and there you can also see all detailed levels for each parameter. Makes sense now, but I wonder what I need 50 steps for drive for.
The SV-2, besides offering optional speakers built-in, has 5Gb wave ROM instead of 500Mb. Most of the new waves are condensed piano libraries from the Kronos and GrandStage series. There is an additional layer available for combination/split sounds.
Call me sad, but I adore the little valve with its warm amber light. It’s like my log fire . I love it soooo much
Everyone should also think about the wooden legs (Korg ST-WL) for this piano - this combination looks gorgeous.
yes I have them they are really dope!
i agree with you, but I'm really curious about whether the woodens legs are stable enough for this heavy keyboard😂
@@lilaclopez5308 every simple wooden table carries more load than this keyboard, the wooden legs are more than sufficient
@@Thomass42 thx, it makes sense🤣
Love my SV2-S 73. Really beautiful instrument. Allways a pleasure to turn it on.
Hey there! just a basic question. Does the SV2 have any in-built rhythms to play along ? Thanks!
@@vivingeorge8417 No, it has not. But you can connect an external drum machine or similar to the audio input to use the build in speakers .
@@lumm71 Thank you!

How incredible video! the best video teaching how to configure the sv2
how could they drop the power switch they had on the SV1??? it was epic! now it is not... 😞
The warm sound character of this instrument really suits your playing style. I have 73 key version without speakers.
Ohh thanks
The Sv-2’s just awesome and 🎶 That’s Just the Way it is.
Love the SV models! Even the SV1!
Thanks for your comment
I would want to know the name ‘s song in the minute 5:38 please
That is the Feather Theme from the Motion picture " Forrest Gump" 😊
Thanks for this video! I hope to get an SV-2S in January if I can find one in stock somewhere.
Good luck! The waitvwill be worthwile
If you’re still looking for one, Thomann has all models still in stock.
Have you compared the SV2 with the Nord Piano 5?
The pedal dampener sound can be removed for those who do not like it. Personally, the SV2-88 is the best electric piano I have owned.

All I want is the best possible Rhodes, can’t quite afford a Nord (or a real Rhodes!) but could stretch to this….
Than try Scarbee software for Rhodes.
I feel like buying a new piano just cus Ive gotten tired of playing the same one for years, even though the sound is just fine. 😅
Yeah, avoid that trap 😊

It’s meant to be like this. Korg have even said it themselves. They have 5 levels of parameters between each light to give more detailed changes.

Wow thank you.
Man the price is killing the vibe
Lov korg sv-2s, if only i could get a used 1 to buy.😥
Hey, keep checking the market:-)
how do the internal speakers sound? Does it compete with the Yamahas and Rolands?
The internal speakers are not really the best. The Korg Havian has muuch betzer ones
hi, do u know if i can use a midi pedalboard for this keyboard. like an organ pedalboard
I think no! Please confirm with korg, but I think it's impossible
