- Watch as crafting expert and Brother consultant Julie Fei-Fan Balzer explains the distinction between line and region embossing, as well as how to create custom embossing projects with the Embossing Starter Kit and ScanNCut.
Once again Julie you have shown me a great demo, I've just download software on my SNC 600, I'm in the UK, we haven't got the embossing starter kit yet so I'm watching your demo so I'll be more knowledgable than my crafting friends. Haha Thank you so much 💐 x
I am confused. Why do you need a template when the machine could just emboss without it. Also I noticed you have the template open when embossing. Why?
Thanks Julie! Another great video! I just wish Brother had a store to buy designs from!
A honey cant you just download them from the internet just do a google search for what you want . Try a search for coloring book in bing or google oh god you will never run out of ideas .lol
Thank you so much for a very informative lesson, as usual!
I really don’t was a little confused by the template there to scan then opened for embossing but having thought about it think I understand why but would have been useful to understand why
I bet we can use laminated sheets to save money
Thank you so much for sharing. Is it possible to emboss/deboss thick whatercolour papour?
The maximum recommended thickness for the Embossing Starter Kit is 0.25mm for thick paper, or 0.1mm for thin paper. You can also use the approved metal sheets that are included.
Thanks for this tutorial Julie..I didn't get the emboss effect even though I chose the region emboss. It look more like line emboss. Why is that?
Really would like to know if I can construct own patterns for embossing (double/mirror it), looks like machine is scanning the pattern anyway in second step, not using the built in pattern data. Then all the effort is absolutely worth it.
You are able to create your own embossing images with the Embossing Starter Kit.
That is making embossing overly complicated!
I have been thinking about buying this kit but I worry about obtaining the consumables, the embossing folder material to be exact. Is there any sub for the folder material? Right now, supply chain issues are hitting scan'n'cut very deeply. Can't find much in stock.
There is no page 8 in my settings, and I have the same machine as you.
Why does the embossing kit need the pink mat? Will the black or purple mat work just the same?
Thanks so much for your help ❣️
Can you pleases explain the difference between the 350 and 650 model?
So the embossing template is 12x12 and it has to be folded, so 12x6 (or less) is the largest embossing area capacity?? I've contacted Brothers through chat and honestly I haven't found anyone who seems to know ANYTHING about how their machines work. I'm trying to find out of the darn thing will do what I need before I spend $450
Wow that a mission
Amazing thank you!
Ciao, è possibile utilizzare dei fogli di acetato trasparenti per creare il template? :) ottimo lavoro.. :)
Does this do planner stickers
Thank you
The only thing that bothered me was you having to pick out some of the smaller cuts . this machine seems a lot better then the cameo or the cricut
Could you please tell me what model you used? Thank you
It seems like a lot of work…..whew
A pleasant & easy to understand presenter, but why do Americans say "go ahead" all the time when giving instructions? I notice it all over YT & once you've noticed it, you realise how often it's said & you just can't make yourself un-notice it. This lady must've said it hundreds of times in just 13 minutes - kind of reminds me of Ted's uni students in How I met Your Mother & the "but ummm" drinking game they played when Robyn was on TV .
The habit of saying "go ahead" to announce an action -- a habit which is thankfully not universal here in the US -- is satirized to good effect by an obnoxious boss in the film Office Space. Maybe Julie will watch the movie and realize that "go ahead" is just not adding anything useful to what she is explaining.
I noticed that also and is distracting.
I really don't get it!
You make a plastic template with the machine (cut it all out), then you don't use the template because the machine already have the pattern and just emboss it on the paper....
Julie had previously transferred one of the patterns that came from the Embossing Starter Kit to the machine that is not one of the original built-in designs. You can see more about this kit in the link below:
