Yoshi P is very fond of early Final Fantasy and if you played it, they were pretty violent. This also reflects with FF14. Although it is online, it can still be played as single player for the majority of the story quest. The story in FF14 can get dark, in some cases more than FF16 demo if you can believe that. So, if anyone skipped FF14, the new FF16 will be jarring and probably confused about the tone of the story.
I think seeing the violence in such a graphic expression is what jarred me the most. :3 I would love to see Yoshi work on some remakes of his favorites! I'm a huge fan of the Tactics game and so was he.
You know I was initially thought it was violent and not what I expected from an FF game, although absolutely enjoyable. But then I remembered FF IV which started with main character Cecil killing a whole bunch of innocent people for a Crystal and how in FFVI Kefka poisoned a whole village full of people and I realized the only difference is that back in the day it was just pixels on screen and if these games were made now with the exact same plot... Yeah just as dark - it is an FF game.
True! I totally agree. The M rating was a significant shock for me and I think this was a substantial pivot from what we're used to seeing in a FF game. I think if older games were to be faithfully remade, it wouldn't be such a shock anymore.
FFX when the Guado attacked the Al Bhed's Home because they were kidnapping the summoners to keep them safe and the Al Bheds end up blowing their Home. Also, Seymour killing all the Ronsos. 😢😢😢
The ones who assisted on the game were a team from Platinum Games(Nier Automata, Bayonetta) and another team from the Kingdom Hearts developers! As for the demo, its weird seeing the game of thrones tone in a modern final fantasy game that it almost feels like a completely different game. At least until you get a reminder like seeing chocobos or hearing final fantasy tunes lol
Yes! This sums up my experience pretty well too; so glad you get it! I think most of my "negative" reactions were spurred by the sudden "GoT-meets-chocobo" moments when I kept getting pulled back to the reality that this is still a FF game at its core. (: I also didn't realize just how diverse the devs were! Thank you!
@@madamemoonie well, 16 titles, you need references lol. And in the spin offs we have many shivas too. Is a lot of shivas LoL, creativity is very complicated with so many versions, forgive them 🤣
I don't remember the last time a videogame gave me goosebumps like this demo, I'm wondering if this is going to rival my favorites, I think it has a solid shot.
What really surprised me about this game is how violent and bloody it is. It was kind of unexpected. Combat looks like a lot of fun and the active time lore system is cool too.
Now this is a Final fantasy game that i can enjoy. I am sick and tired of the old FF games with same old JRPG tropes. I love almost evrything about this game. and i am saying this as someone who have played every single final fantasy game out there including non numbered ones.
@@DegraTrip I am not talking about the MMOs I am talking about the single player FF games. 14 is great I also like tactics a lot but those are the exceptions
head empty, just torgal... nothing else really matters to me. i'm glad they did this with XVI, a little dark and raising the stakes are always good. once the full game releases it's BLOODY FINAL FANTASY TIME MWAHAHAHAAA game of thrones: devil may fantasy
i thought the combat was the best part and i've never experienced combat like this before

Yeah. Final Fantasy is full of dark events. The hardware had limitations.
Or in ff2, where almost every character was dropping like flies in that game 😅

How many Shivas you saw in your life? LOL
This is like FFXV + FFVIII+ FFVII remake, yellow, white and blue color fusion, if i can say.

Ah yes, the age-old ''where do I put my arms'' question, streamers for generations have been asking this same question, with no real answers.
