It makes sense to change salt to Morton’s LITE. Salt. It is NOT Sodium/ Chloride but Potassium/Chloride. The body generally benefits from additional potassium as it works in conjunction with magnesium and these two together help to keep blood pressure in check. Also eating more plant foods help and slowly getting more exercise helps. Yes, this LITERALLY still tastes like salt and IS IODIZED, If you like oriental food like I do, it is better to use the low sodium soy sauce. Eating a whole food plant-based diet helped me. I lost 80 lbs. along with walking. Anything which helps blood pressure to be more in control helps to reduce swollen legs and feet. Foods good for blood pressure control are beets and beet greens, and grapefruit and its juice. Del Monte makes a square jar grapefruit which is very nice. We find it at the BIG Walmart in town and in the produce section, in a refrigerated case. We are not diabetic so we get the light syrup. But artificially sweetened is also available. I have a blood clot on my lung and I’m on blood thinners and I have leg ulcers and varicose eczema. I have had foam injections in my veins in my legs to help heal my ulcers and I have them mainly after a haemorrhage where I have to call a ambulance. Last February I was cooking at home when I felt immense pain in my left hip and I was rushed to hospital a few days later and I had 2 fractures in my pelvis so 11 weeks in hospital and I’m home and trying to be normal. I’m only 62 years old but I’m in compression bandages on both legs atm. I have a home nurse who comes twice a week. I live alone and I cope pretty well. 71 years old. Edema in Right Leg and ankle only. Ultra Scan NO Blockages. ???? Doctor Not really concerned. I take a calcium channel blocker but the Leg Leg ankle has no swelling. No Answers found yet. Blood test analysis show no issues with Kidneys or Liver.

Hello, I have swelling in my left ankle and recently had pain around the ankle joints. I have kidney related issues and I have found that compression stockings are hard to get off and on. My swelling problems have been going on for at least 2/years. My doctor says there's evidence of arthritis. What else can I do? What remedies are available for me.
Although many doctors overlook this cause, fungus infection is another culprit for foot swelling. Chronic fungus infection on the feet and toenails may cause lymphangitis leading to lymphedema and swelling. Would appreciate your comments on this.

My brother is in hospital again now with Edema for the 10 th time . He needs IV diuretics to drain a huge amount of fluid in his legs and stomach area . I have that problem recently. But I do exercise on alternate days which makes me feel better. Standing for long hours makes my feet and ankle swollen to some extent which makes me uncomfortable. I am bearing that pain and living with it. I have seen several doctors in the last 30 years, but nobody can solve this problem. Doctors all waste they simply want appointment for income nothing else.

Urologist put a stint for a while and then I was told I had severe kidney injury because of my back surgery I had never been told that and I had test so I truly don’t believe that I had that injury until the urologist worked on me and the dr moved yet again and I wasn’t comfortable with the man ever. Se I read up online on him and he was never in same place for very long. So please check your Physician out before going to them. I’m not going if I have any feelings of somethings wrong with this person. I believe he is a hit and run Dr!

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question. I'm 54. Both legs are swollen and cold painful from just below my knees to the tip of my toes,so you can imagine it's causing walking a problem. 6 months ago when it started I went to my doctor. She said she'd book an appointment to get the blood pressure tested in my legs. I'm still waiting for the appointment. Since then,I had a month's worth of furosemide. While I was talking them,the swelling went down,and the pain stopped. When I had used them all, after a few days the swelling/pain came back. So I had another months worth off her. Even though they were slightly weeker prescription, they still worked. Now they have been used up,the swelling/pain is back,and she won't give me any more pills. I'm still waiting for the appointment for my leg blood pressure check. She has told me that my heart is good,and that it is my vains causing it. But I can't walk now,and the pain is unbearable,and no pills off my doctor. My question is, what pills are available without prescription? I feel like crying sometimes,I really do. It's unbearable,and the doctor just moves me on,with the excuse that we're waiting for the appointment. Thanks in advance for any help.

I had an ultrasound on my Carodid and when I went for my results, I was told 50/50 I could die or I could live.This made no sense to me. I just turned 76 in September. Thank you for listening ,
you do know that reducing sodium intake down to under 1000 mgs better yet 500mgs and that is daily ----- urination is way better and leg edema is reduced --- havd done it in response to advice from kidney doctor and if the latter symptoms come up I know salt intake is too high -------------- sadly salt use by companies is out of fckng control --- but have done pretty well ----- some days real well and i tend to lose excess fluids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You didn’t mention anything about potassium deficiency, liver problems, heart problems. There’s more things that can cause edema than you mentioned.

you do know that reducing sodium intake down to under 1000 mgs better yet 500mgs and that is daily ----- urination is way better and leg edema is reduced --- havd done it in response to advice from kidney doctor and if the latter symptoms come up I know salt intake is too high -------------- sadly salt use by companies is out of fckng control --- but have done pretty well ----- some days real well and i tend to lose excess fluids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
