SEWN-IN SILENCERS AND TUCK TABS!?!?
The debate whether or not hook-and-loop is a too noisy closure system for magazine pouches has been raging for decades. Some feel that little ripping sound is an outright deadly problem, some feel it doesn’t really matter at all.
But feelings are not facts. We set out to find the fact of the matter through the means of scientific testing!
No matter if you love or hate hook-and-loop: Our lidded magazine pouches use a combination of a tuck-tab and hook-and-loop to secure the lid, with a sewn-in silencer allowing you to “deactivate” the hook-and-loop for silent operation. Wonderful!

One thing ;) the lab coat should have been made out of 1000D Cordura and it should definitely have a loop field on the chest. BTW "Top Scientitian" would make a nice addition to the happy patch ;)
Budget constraints. We we're lucky that one of our employees had a lab coat, otherwise we would've had to resort to a bath robe or something.

my actual concern with velcro is that it wears out eventually, but no worries here. keep it up!
That it indeed eventually will do. Also dirt, snow, mud, sand etc. can clog it. These are some reasons why we don't rely on it alone when doing magazine pouches.

Tactical Tailor has velcro covers on their pouches for years, so you can just use the buckles with the velcro covered, of secure your gear with both buckle and Velcro.
Yes, as has many other manufacturers and militaries had for decades (and then there's tape and other DIY tricks...). This is not us trying to seriously suggest we have come up with such an incredible innovation, but a tongue-in-cheek response to the somewhat silly complaints and discussions about the noise of hook-and-loop which are quite abundant on the internets.
