These are small dc pump. You can run them using 3 to 6 volts. I bought these pump for DIY Betta fish filter. you can also use these pump in aquariums and fountain.

6 yrs old video.. wow .. what life span you got out of this pump? I m also thinking to use it for aquarium but i am afraid that it will not last long... want to run it for a month continuously for my fish fry tray.

I am trying to solve a problem with my dishwasher; there is a very small leak at the bottom of the machine (about 0.5 litre after each wash). The water collects onto a drip tray and if it builds up too much it shuts the machine down. Therefore I need a pump which will dispense the water and then switch itself off. Therefore the pump needs to one that doesn't need to be primed. I hope that I am making sense and that you may be able to help with a solution. Regards.

yes, you can connect a float switch. But connect it on the AC side not on DC side.
