  • One of the most important episodes arrives as the Chaos Council realize just what the Energy Crystal, that they've used to power their city, truly is. The Chaos Council averts their attention to Nine, planning to steal a piece of the Paradox Prism for themselves. Episode 6 gives a glimmer of hope to the resistance as they face their city's oppressor.
A huge thank you to everybody that's been sticking around, I won't be covering this series episode by episode in the future, this story just isn't in depth enough to really give a full analysis on each episode, there just isn't enough information. When season 2 comes out I will only be covering the season as a whole, as I feel like this manner of video is a waste of time.
Thank you all for watching! As always leave a comment of your choice below, and I'll see you guys in the next one.

If Part 2 has value in a breakdown like this then I will, the issue is that there wasn’t much to talk about in majority of the episodes.
Unless you really just want me to say if an episode was just generally written well or not.

Unfortunately, the series goes downhill (again) from this episode forward. The episodes about New Yoke City really are the better ones.
It's kind of annoying that we have to wait a long while for the next episodes to come up. It's fun to speculate about what could happen next, but lately speculations have turned out better stories than the oficial stuff. I would personally ask for more variety in characters, but Sega probably only allowed the writers to use a few of the already existing ones. This show seems to be aimed at little kids, so i doubt they would implement a deeper story at the same level as the games.
I wish I could say more about this series, but the fact that I don't have much to say has revealed something to me: it's boring. All these episodes (with exception of the first ones) are really boring. The stakes don't feel high. There's no establishment to the character's backstory unless they are central to the respective dimension. I'm conflicted on how Sonic's written, at first there seemed to be potential for proper character growth, but up until the 8th episode it doesn't feel like he develops at all. And there's so much missed potential on many aspects.

Yup, that's the exact problem that I had while making these videos. What started as a very in depth look at what the show presents and the concepts it brings back, quickly just turned into "and then this happened, and then they did this again, and then this happened" With these episodes only being a normal cartoon runtime and no longer being an hour long venture as episode 1 was, they could only do so much with each episode, and they shot themselves in the foot with their setting and what point they chose to start New Yoke City at. That limitation doesn't work when you start your story at absolute 0 and have built up nothing from there. Then try to include everything that they can in part 1, a dimension per part would have been a pretty good pace for this. Part 1 is New Yoke, Part 2 the jungle, part 3 the pirates. But an even better BETTER pace would have been if everything was already established, and Sonic fell into an interdimensional Chaos Council who has already made moves in each dimension and Sonic found himself joining the resistance.
I don't think the entire show is boring, as anytime we get the New Yoke characters it is entertaining. The problem is what I said before, and pretty much what I say in episode 5, the story should have already had The Chaos Council involved in each dimension, they have the five doctors and they do nothing except when Sonic is in New Yoke City. At the present moment, there's not really much going on, because they are essentially refusing to start the story in favor of building it up to where things can happen. The concepts that they already have are very interesting, they just didn't choose to start it until Episode 8, when Rusty Rose makes moves in the Pirate Dimension, and what will eventually be part 2 of the show.
the Pirate episodes are basically just a repeat of the Jungle episode, it feels like filler, but it does have the benefit of Rusty Rose showing up at the end of episode 7, and it makes it interesting that she's there, but again, the problem is that there is nothing developed story-wise yet, so there really isn't anything interesting happening, and Rusty Rose can only do so much.
I basically decided to cut this mini-series of mine short, and just begin writing the full review of Sonic Prime, and when part 2 comes out, I'll again just do a full review. As it is, there just isn't enough happening. Even the lengths of my videos and the content that I have to talk about diminished overtime. It's a shame, but I'll be able to get back to making better content than being stuck on this story that isn't detailed enough to do a deep dive on.

@@kotytang Every single dimension DID have their uniqueness and importance into the story
The Jungle dimension helped Sonic save the dimension from an endless genocide, and helped to grow Sonic, and the jungle characters as a character
The pirate dimension also had us see that Rusty Rose is slowly having her memories back, not to mention DREAD HAS THE PARADOX PRISM SHARD, so it's clear he's gonna have an important role...
Every single dimension HAS had it's reason and ways to make the series more interesting than it already was

@@lordx7013 I recommend you watch my full sonic Prime Review; “The Amateur Writing of Sonic Prime | Part 1” it tackles every reason the dimensions don’t work.
I never said the dimensions weren’t unique, I did say they don’t serve a purpose though.
Every single story has character development, if it doesn’t it isn’t a story, saying the Jungle dimension story is used for character development isn’t an achievement, it’s expected already. “An endless genocide” is a massive stretch, that’s not at all what’s happening, I don’t even know how you arrived at that conclusion. What did the jungle dimension have to do with New Yoke?
There’s an implication of Rusty Rose switching over to the heroes, sure she can be reprogrammed to do so, and she is still Amy. And yes Dread does have a shard. Set up for what will eventually happen doesn’t mean the story that got us to that conclusion was valid.
The only good Dimension continues to be New Yoke.

If sonic never existed in new yoke city and if the show is canon where did eggman got his name ? Cuz what i know eggmans originally was named robotnik and sonic called him eggman just to tease him in adventure 1 but since sonic existed how did he got the name eggman.

That is true actually, what was supposed to be an insult is something that Eggman decided to take on as a moniker. Just even more contradictions for New Yoke City
