How to Choose Your Exterior Window Screening | Phifer Inc.
    __________________
Screens serve one of two purposes. They either prevent insects from getting into your living space, or control privacy and how much sun gets into your home.
Natural light can be beautiful. Managing sunlight to your taste with solar screens is a matter of choosing the right mesh. The more open the mesh, the more heat and light it allows through. Solar screen protection is rated 65, 70, 80 or even 90%. The higher the number, the less sun and more privacy the screen provides.
Most screens also come in a number of colors to accent the design of your home. Phifer's SunTex fabrics also include Microban anti-microbial protection to continuously inhibit growth of mold, mildew and stains.
Your choice of a solar screen comes down to how much light you want to get through, how much heat blockage, degree of privacy, and color.
Choosing an insect screen means weighing one basic consideration, what level of visibility do you desire? As with solar screens, the openness of the weave determines sun and air flow. With improved visibility insect screening, that choice is determined by the material you choose: fiberglass, aluminum wire or stainless steel.
Phifer's SeeVue is woven from stainless steel. Phifer SeeVue's black finish provides improved visibility and unrivaled durability.
Phifer's aluminum wire screening is another great durable option for insect protection.
Fiberglass screens, on the other hand, provide improved visibility and air flow. Phifer's UltraVue and BetterVue screens are like all Phifer's sun-control fabrics, Greenguard and Greenguard Select certified. They also contain Microban anti-microbial protection to help prevent stain, odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew.
Both stainless steel and fiberglass screens provide excellent protection from insects. Which is right for you is simply a matter of choosing how much visibility is right for you. A new factor is how well the screens protect from blowing embers and sparks. Key are mesh size, flammability, and melting point. The stainless SeeVue looks like the best off the shelf material but it would be helpful to know how the bronze screen compares.

Not a helpful video. It mentions product, but very little about the attributes of that product.

That's a lot of marketing mumbo jumbo with no real information on pros/cons. This is not a "how to" video, it's just an ad.

An entire video about window screens without even a single picture of how the screen looks on a window as viewed from the interior of a home. Jeez.
