I drive a white 2021 Challenger R/T Hemi and i love it! My favorite car to drive, most comfortable for my injured back. Over the last 5 years i've driven a Mustang 5.0 GT and a Dodge Charger R/T Hemi and the Challenger R/T tops my list.

I loved the design of the new challenger. I took GT then R/T for a test drive . The R/T is my choice, its amazing in performance, power and exhaust sound. Even the interior is nice. Now the color choice confusing but difenetly im gonna get one soon
I watch these videos and laugh at these young people who think 375 HP isn’t enough. When I was in high school (late 80’s) our fast cars (5.0 Mustang and Iroc-Z camaro ) were 230-240 HP. We thought that was powerful. 375 is plenty for a daily driver.
My 1985 Mustang GT 5.0 L had 210 HP. That was enough to provide a good, torquey, HiPo experience. I’m about to buy a Challenger, and the R/T 5.7 L seems like the way to go for a great all round vehicle.
I rented a rt for the first time. And I'm Sold. It's more than enough for me. Way more power and torque than anything I'm used to driving.. I loved it.. missing it even though it was never mines in the first place..

@@Basslightning666 they have to do that to give the scatpack a fighting chance since the 345 hemi comes purposely restrained and the 392 comes fully modded too the max from factory. The only way to get more power from the 392 is by getting the 392 crate with direct injection. It's rated at 525 hp and 515 tq
I already have a 2013 Challenger R/T but am taking delivery of a 2020 Durango R/T in destroyer gray. The red R/T emblems will look good on the fenders!
the 5.7 has some great low end torque and it just wants to go. i traded in my 2010 charger sxt in for a 2014 rt shaker. man im so glad i did. they respond well to tuners as well. the challenger is my fav car now. i was a mustang guy, but not anymore. no joke there is no rattles, no loose plastic etc. challenger > all =)
I’m considering buying one when I’m 21. I think it’s the right amount of power for me cause I’m not used to fast cars I’m used to slow cars. My dad has a 2022 rt durango it weights 6000lbs and that hemi engine gets it up and going pretty fast so I can’t imagine how it would feel in a lighter car
I bought an RT shaker edition because I wanna be able to put the power to the ground and have fun, later on... all I have to do is add a blower and have it tuned then BAM!!! SCAT PACK POWER!!
I have the same 2021 with a 6 speed manual. The manual is a blast to drive and I love it. Also cold air intake and Borla exhaust and it sounds way better than in the video.
~High 4 seconds to 5.1 0-60 with a 5.7 Hemi&8 speed,remember you also can get lower gear ratio for the differential thus the higher 4 second 0-60..Wife drives a 300S 5.7 Hemi 8 speed it runs 4.9 sec 0-60.. ~Owning powerful cars my whole life it was always hard to drive a 5 second or 4.5 second 0-60 car and anything less than a mid 12 second 1/4 mile car... ~My 1st car ran mid 12's(68 Charger RT) My Dad bought a new 440 6bbl Cuda brand new in 1970,2weeks later he ran high 11's in the 1/4 after headers/carb tuning(trracks had no prep like today and tires tech want like today either) I did have 14 second daily drivers(those ate 1987-93 5.0 Mustangs all day long,and they were slow to me! even my 13 second cars were quick but you always want more and yeah once you have an 11 second car all others seem slow...But not to say they are not fun or fast/quick...I know when I bought my wife a 2008 Chrysler 300 SRT 6.1 I was okay its quick but not my 68 Charger then running low 11's then Oh I bought a 5.7 Hemi Challenger as a daily then 170,000 miles no real issues,great daily drivers.. Love the RT Challenger. This one could have been given a damp cloth wipe down prior to filming however! Never get a second chance for a first impression.
I would love to get one of these. The problem is with how they're trying to get rid of gas engines and make everything go electric and knowing how much of a gas hog the hemis are, imagine the prices of gas in the future. I wouldnt be suprised if they purposely raised gas prices to $10/gal in the future - for 87 just to turn ppl away from gas cars and into electric cars
My wife got this car a week ago same color same package. It gets 16 mpg town she puts premium in it. I told wrong time to make that kind of purchase. She got it for 41k at 0 interest. It's bad ass but wrong time in history for muscle cars lol.

I've never heard anyone say that the WRX sounds good, but "doesn't really go anywhere." Yet, in a straight line they're as slow as the Challenger r/t. They also have a superior big brother in the STI, too. I think the difference is the size and weight of the challenger. Even in the scat pack, it'll feel like you're not going anywhere, sometimes. And in both cars, it'll feel like you're not going that fast, even when you're going 90mph, for instance.
✊🏼Smoke Show, Triple Nickel Silver, Frostbite, White Knuckle or F8 Green - gotta have the Black Top trim package well worth the price. All colors with "black" trim looks fantastic especially the "lighter" colors. PS gotta remove those ugly yellow spoiler protectors. (it's like a white dude wearing white sunglasses) down right ugly. 🇺🇲Stay well. Go in peace.
Adaquate power? I'd say adaquate power is ( realistically) around 200-250 hp, decent is 300 hp, good is 350-400 ( Automatic RT is rated at 372), very good would be 425-500, and exceptional is 501-650, outstanding is 675-? "Doesn't really go anywhere, unfortunately". Wow, great commentary! Any street legal car that does mid 13s in the 1/4 mile and tops out over 150 mph, especially for an entry vehicle is in my opinion is most respectable. MY daily driver beater V6 Buick falls in the catagory of adaquate power with just 205 hp. and even that is adaquate in my congested living area.
I had the same car but a charger, trust me it will go anywhere, and fast too. V8 and the awesome ZF8 transmission gives instant power anytime I put a bit on the petal, plus this 5.7 sounds extremely good.

The rt will stay on the redline but the power band on a 5.7 is a lot lower and a lot short than a 6.2 or 6.4. If you hit redline you’re already out of the power band
Do Challengers have a tough time when it comes to opening the doors during the winter? One of my co-workers told me that his parents have difficulty opening the doors when they get ice around the top of the door window or snow stuck to it.
Thats because the window lowers every time you open the door and ice can hold it up which is not good. ^^^ every car does that? You don’t know what you are talking about. Almost every car has a door frame all the way around the window. Challengers dont
I have a 2020 with this package....performance plus and handling group gives you the 3:09 lsd and 275 pirrelis... this is not a base RT.....most are one wheel wonder...you want this package your gonna pay... almost scat pack money do your research folks....
Mechanically they will be basically the same. Only thing changing is some of the infotainment software and the bumpers like you said. Still great cars.
I guess the perks are awesome discounts if enlisted so you can afford it or, if an officer, the perk is a salary so good that any R/T is affordable. AmIright?

Anyone figure out what the best wax is for this particular color? I had a 2018 in destroyer grey and just got a 22 in smoke show grey. Very similar but a little lighter. It being a nonmetallic matte finish that’s still shiny from the clear coat, but hard to find information on the best wax for this type of color. I just ceramic coated it about a week ago and looks great, but from my experience with the destroyer grey 2018 which I ceramic coated adding wax on top reduced the water spotting issues.

After owning a scat pack first and then to a hellcat I would say I can never go back to any lower tier. I’d have to just save for another high tier one lol. You can do over 100 before even hitting the hwy in a hellcat haha but I haven’t owned a red eye yet. Kinda pricey but I’ll save for one.
At least on mine I can take off and actually use all the power, instead of just spinning tires....and I drive by gas stations instead of filling up a Hellcat at every one.
At 9:30, you answered my primary "driving impressions" question: this 5.7 does not pull *anything* like a Scat Pack, from the time you hit the throttle. The power is: "adequate." You're buying it for "entry-level pricing for a muscle car." Hit the gas hard, and "It doesn't really go anywhere, but it does sound good." It all depends where you come from in terms of car. Like the man said, if he comes from a 700 hp, the R/T will seem slow. Same would happen if someone is coming from a Bugatti Chiron and drives a hellcat. Most likely wouldn't be impressed by the kitty..😅😅
The most obvious changes would be to the Uconnect software. They have made improvements to the infotainment system over the years. The drivetrain and interior are largely the same.
You shifted late . Or the car shifted late and your foot was faster . Try hitting the shifter a little early. I can grab my rts gears and it's freaking loud when shifting so I know your doing something wrong. Also 2nd gear in the rt doesn't really do anything if you wanna feel the power 3rd and 4th pull hard af .

The R/T is plenty quick enough. Low 5's 0-60 is no slouch. I like driving my wife's R/T Charger as much as my Widebody Challenger Scat.
My stock R/T runs a 4.6 0-60 on 89 octane gas

Manuals come with a LSD it’s a different experience than the Auto 8speed Rt

Mechanically they will be basically the same. Only thing changing is some of the infotainment software and the bumpers like you said. Still great cars.

Anyone figure out what the best wax is for this particular color? I had a 2018 in destroyer grey and just got a 22 in smoke show grey. Very similar but a little lighter. It being a nonmetallic matte finish that’s still shiny from the clear coat, but hard to find information on the best wax for this type of color. I just ceramic coated it about a week ago and looks great, but from my experience with the destroyer grey 2018 which I ceramic coated adding wax on top reduced the water spotting issues.
I don’t think you’re supposed to wax over a ceramic coating..
Great review! I have a 2016 6m challenger RT, and I totally agree with what you said, they have adequate power when I got it I thought it would have a little more I guess I've gotten used to it LOL but it's a great car very nice driver

similar to my charger 2013 V6, it doesn't react at first, then it gives you all the power at once. I don't like that.
After owning a scat pack first and then to a hellcat I would say I can never go back to any lower tier. I’d have to just save for another high tier one lol. You can do over 100 before even hitting the hwy in a hellcat haha but I haven’t owned a red eye yet. Kinda pricey but I’ll save for one.

At least on mine I can take off and actually use all the power, instead of just spinning tires....and I drive by gas stations instead of filling up a Hellcat at every one.
At 9:30, you answered my primary "driving impressions" question: this 5.7 does not pull *anything* like a Scat Pack, from the time you hit the throttle. The power is: "adequate." You're buying it for "entry-level pricing for a muscle car." Hit the gas hard, and "It doesn't really go anywhere, but it does sound good." Thanks for the realistic review, rather than just another a sales pitch.
Add a throttle booster and skip shift eliminator and it will feel dramatically faster
What are the main differences in this and a 2019 challenger R/T? I’m looking in to getting one but haven’t yet been inside one
Only minor software tweaks to the Uconnect system would be the difference from 19 to 21.

It all depends where you come from in terms of car. Like the man said, if he comes from a 700 hp, the R/T will seem slow.
Same would happen if someone is coming from a Bugatti Chiron and drives a hellcat. Most likely wouldn't be impressed by the kitty..😅😅

What’s the difference between this one and a 2015 rt?
The most obvious changes would be to the Uconnect software. They have made improvements to the infotainment system over the years. The drivetrain and interior are largely the same.
@@SauerHorsepower I have a 2015 RT Plus with the manual six speed, and (aside from some of the UConnect options), it's virtually the same GREAT car.
U also get the same exhaust as in the scatpack so the exhaust sounds much better and louder than 2016 and below charger amd challenger rt models

You shifted late . Or the car shifted late and your foot was faster . Try hitting the shifter a little early. I can grab my rts gears and it's freaking loud when shifting so I know your doing something wrong. Also 2nd gear in the rt doesn't really do anything if you wanna feel the power 3rd and 4th pull hard af .
