We used to go to Emerald Isle every year in the 80's and 90's. The first time I ever stepped foot on that beautiful island it was in the 70's and I was only 9 years old. I fell in love right then and there. As I got older and started planning the yearly trips for family and friends we always stayed at Gallagher or next door at Four Shore both ocean front. I have so many beautiful memories and shells from those years!! It is forever etched on my brain. One of the most beautiful places I've been!❤❤❤😭🐬🐬🐬
Your comment gives me the chills! We loved Emerald Isle so much - we think this might be a retirement location for us! Of all the places that we went to on our RV travels, this was our favorite. I am so excited to go back again. I'm not sure when that will be, but I think this special place will be in our future! ❤️🐚😊
i loved that you continued to label the shells you found. The repetition was exactly what I needed as a beginner. Just from watching one of your videos I've learned 5 new kinds of shells
Really enjoyed this video. Never been to any OB beaches but I would love to go to Emerald. I have seen a lot of metal detecting videos done there. Love the Lions paw and those precious babies ears. The cockles are a lot like Edisto. Huge variety of colors. The fort was interesting also. Thanks for sharing!
Um as someone from Carteret county ...you saying this is not a big tourist area was a lie.....all of the beach from EI to Atlantic beach is bad as far as tourisim... so many dang people during the summer
In my defense, I was not lying. Since I am not from the area, my information came from friend who a resident of Emerald Isle and several online sources that claim that it is "not that busy" compared to other East Coast hot spots. We were there in the fall and the beaches were nearly empty. Coming from a tourist area myself that is slammed from April until November, comparatively it did not seem busy at all. But to be fair, we were not there in the summer. I have been to many places on the East Coast in the summer (Maine, Maryland, Virginia) and it was very busy everywhere. If there is ocean access, it is going to be busy.
I'm not sure what you are referring to, but my guess is that you noticed (or I commented) on my hands shaking😊 I have tremors. I plan on doing a video soon about them since I get a lot of comments and questions 😊 Thanks for watching!

This beautiful beach is near and dear to my heart...many lovely memories and the large majority of my shell collection came from here

Thank you for watching! I did metal detect one day by the pier and literally found nothing! Ha! Someone must have been there right before me😜
Is this visit in September of 2022?
No, it was actually spring 2022. March I believe!

@@TravelingTreasureFinder during off season yeah it is dead, during summer it is pretty crowded, Not nearly as much as Atlantic beach but still.
Are you nervous or freezing??

Why would she be nervous? She's obviously a pro at making these videos!
@@ng3069 Aw, thank you 😊
Emerald Isle has never been part of the true OBX.
I didn't think so either but we met some locals who told us differently 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ It's obviously quite a bit farther south than the rest of the OBX.
