    Would you recommend a setting up an llc to receive your payments if you start earning a certain amount

    • @VoiceOverAngela
      @VoiceOverAngela  4 года назад

      Hi! I would say, at the very least.... set up a whole different back account for your earnings. Keep them separate as if it were already your llc funds. But yes, I started mine as soon as things started to really get going. I would reach out to a CPA or a lawyer for advice for your own situation. :)

    I have viewed several of your videos and have gain very valuable information. If a book is less than 10,000 words, under an hour, how are payments calculated?

    • @VoiceOverAngela
      @VoiceOverAngela  3 года назад

      Hi! Thanks for watching! If the book is 8,000 words, it's 0.8 hours. If it's 5,800 words, it's 0.6 hours, etc.

    Hi Angela, since (the pay for production method) is based on the number of hours you've worked. How will the author know if I'm being exact? hypothetically, let's say I'm really bad and it takes me 8 hours to record, edit, ect. What proves the fact that I did work for that long? I love your channel btw! Really helpful videos!

    • @VoiceOverAngela

      Pay for production or PFH is per finished hour, not hours worked. 1 finished hour includes all the hours it took you to narrate, edit, format and master 9300 words. 9300 words is 1 finished hour. So, of the book is 30,000 words, 30,000 divided by 9300 is 3.23 hours. If your rate is $200PFH, that's $200 x 3.23 = $646. This is your payment, regardless of the actual time it took to produce this audiobook. Make sense?

    Hi I'm from India.. I would like to make my 1st book using ACX, however when i checked online it showed this -ACX is currently open to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland who have a mailing address, valid local Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and banking details for one of these countries. We hope to open up to a wider global audience in the future.
    So is it not possible for me to use ACX..?

    Hi Angela, How can I make sure I am hiring a quality sound engineer via Upwork or Fiver to make my audiobook recording sound professional and that it is formatted correctly for ACX?

    • @VoiceOverAngela
      @VoiceOverAngela  Год назад

      Great question! Unfortunately there isn't a surefire way other than relying on their reviews and ratings. Reach out to them and ask questions if you like. Or, if you're in a Facebook group, ask if there is anyone in the group who offers this service, and go from there.

    Hi. I'm just getting started. Would you suggest that, once I get some work, that I should initially with PFH to get some things under my belt? That way I could be seen as "more valuable" for future productions. Also, I don't currently have the full skills to master things. Would using an outside source be strictly out of pocket for me?
    Thanks.

      Hi Robert! I started with Royalty Share, there is nothing wrong with that. No one will know how you are paid for your work, but you and the RH. A 1000 Royalty Share books add up too. :) And yes, any editor you hire will be out of your pocket.

    Do you have to be an audio engineer?

    • @VoiceOverAngela
      @VoiceOverAngela  3 года назад

      Absolutely not, you have the option to send your recordings to an editor/ producer to handle the technical side for a fee. If you learn the basics and how to use your DAW for audiobook production, you can save yourself that fee and do it yourself. :) But you don't need to be an audio ninja.

    someone is offering 10% royalty per book. This is my first voice over gig. is this out of the norm?

    • @VoiceOverAngela
      @VoiceOverAngela  2 года назад

      Royalty Share is typically 20% for you and 20% for the author for ACX, other sites may have different rates. If the client has reached you on a site that is not strictly for audiobooks, collecting royalties may be difficult, so I would stick with PFH / Pay for Production and not Royalty Share.
