His songwriting is on another level. You should react to “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore”. He was impatiently waiting for his wife to get ready, so she told him to go write a song. He wrote it in the 15 minutes it took her to get ready. He played it for her and she had to pick up her chin from the floor. And if you want to get a concert experience, he did an eight song set at Farm Aid. At the beginning of Tennessee Whiskey, he introduces the band in song. Very cool.
This whole Tiny Desk Concert with him is amaaazzzzinng. The way he delivers the lyrics, with so much emotion in every single syllable a person can just get lost in their head and let the music transport them. That's why you won't find a song of his you don't like, lol. And the sound of the rain was absolutely in line with this song. That was perfect.
I want to see Chris Stapleton live also... I think it would be incredible... Even if I have to go alone I want to see him & his wife perform live... Talk about having cold chills... Chris Stapleton can makes me breakout in goosebumps, get cold chills, make me cry... All my emotions just flustered... The voice, incredible... Chris Stapleton is on tour too... Go to his web site & see if his tour is coming near you... Peace
Back in october i had 2 tickets that i paid over $200 for at the beginning of the year and was looking forward to this show the whole time. The Day came and My wife couldnt go...so i called like 8 of my friends and 2 of my cousins and nobody would go with me...even for free tix...so i went alone....and i stayed for every note....that's my guy right there he's the preacher and music is my religion
Just saw him live last night @AmFamAmphitheatre. He opened the show with this, just him and his guitar. And though the place was packed, you could hear every syllable sung and every lick of the guitar. It was amazing!
This happens to be another one of my top favorites of his. I sing, so I go to karaoke and I’m telling you I just love his music. The man is genius when it comes to his song writing abilities. Then his ability to play the instruments and then freaking genius when it comes to his voice. Man… Priceless!
If I honest the song made me cry so hard Chris stapelton I have to admit is an amazing song writer and love rection clip thx for doing this song hun xx
I really enjoy your videos! Chris was in a band called The Jompson Brothers for a bit, and I'd love to hear/see your reaction to their song Barely Alive. Thanks so much!
Wow... yet again. Of all his amazing songs, I think this is my favorite. I can't help but tear up while listening. Check out Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy." Another fantastic song about gut-wrenching regret.
Tiny Desk Concerts are filmed at NPR radio station in DC in someone's office. Morgane was with him that day and she sang on the other 2 songs. I can't remember which songs at the moment. Another fantastic Tiny Desk Concert was Tedeschi Trucks Band.
React to Chris Stapleton "More of You". He sings it with Morgane in that same setting. POWERFUL! You ain't ready for that one. Love your reactions, BTW! Those performances are at the NPR studio in DC, I think. :)
This is such a great song, i am suprised this one doesnt have a lot more views. So good. Chris is just so good. Just came from Fire Away man starting to get a bit maudlin from that to this....wow.
Incredible. Love all your reactions to Mr. Stapleton. Listening to him is a spiritual & emotional experience. Check out the NPR Tiny Desk Series. You'll be introduced to so much more music! Be ready & stay strong Mr. J.
I love watching your reactions, you just enjoy the music so much! I love CS and yeah, his lyrics paired with his soulful, mournful tone puts him in a category all his own. Look up Miranda Lambert, who also rights a lot of her own songs. Listen to Vice, it’s amazing and I think you will appreciate the lyrics too.
He wrote this song years and Tim McGraw sang it. I don't even really now if it was released as a single. I remember listening to the album and liking the song. But Chris Stapleton's version has so much more depth. This is another written masterpiece. IMO
seeing him live he is even better----and its just him a his band a simple 3 or 4 piece but he is better than anyone else I know of out there live today
Imagine yourself, on an old porch. Oak beams and Cyprus sidings. The edge of an old river, moss in the trees. You.re on the porch, in a home made swing with an old black man, who you've gone to since you were a young'un. He gave you stories of love, sacrifice, honor, glory and love of country.. He's facing his final day and shares with you, the most sacred moment of love in his life... PEACE!
“I drink cause I’m lonesome, and I’m lonesome cause I drink” That hit me hard! If you have a drinking problem, please seek help. Your worth it! God bless
You know he sings so many genres of music and they put the label of country music on him and to be honest this song is more country than some of his songs but he can sing whatever he wants and it always sounds amazing😊😊😊😊 I am a Canadian and honestly I had goosebumps and was almost crying when he sang the national anthem at the last Super Bowl😊😊😊
Great reaction, and love your comments...but FINALLY someone who lets the song play enough to get the vibe and not stopping every 15 seconds. Even a couple of times is ok, but wow how you let it play so the vibe kept marinating, then threw your thoughts on the screen. I had not seen this live version of "Whiskey...", and everything about it as it went along was making it my favorite...ESPECIALLY his slow tempo, the CMA performance of this I thought was astonishing, just him and his guitar and the stage under spotlight, but the tempo was just slightly increased I now realize later on, even compared to the album recording...but I always look for Chris to send it w/the last "driving me insane", and he held back on this one, the only one I've heard where he pulled that back, just curious, he always sends it at the end. Prob b/c this sounds like a small intimate setting by the applause at the end. Still epic, the slowest tempo I've heard live=the best live one, and his voice and delivery, epic!
Congrats on the 100k subscribers! I think you should do a reaction to Sturgill Simpson’s The Storm. If you like well crafted songs which clearly you do check out the studio version of this song off his album High Top Mountain
Another wonderful reaction to another amazing song! Check out Higher & White Horse! That is if you haven't already! I keep a pretty tight check on your channel & I don't think I've seen it yet. Keep em' coming! Fav reactor channel! ❤❤
You don’t even have to react to it, but , like everyone else is saying, watch the entire episode of his Tiny Desk Concert. I love it, and your girl Morgane is there.
I don't know who the first person was to tell you to respond to Chris Stapleton..But I told you about the Rogan podcast...I personally hated country music till I heard Chris Stapleton and still in a bit of denial of it being country music..It's just good music for your soul.. great reaction as always..try.. might as well get stoned..
Sweet, I requested this (probably others too so no offence). Fantastic song and worthy reactions. The full concert is better to watch though: ruclips.net/video/YcHL0kUFPhw/видео.html 14min well spent and you also get to hear Morgane and their interactions between songs including his guitar obsession :)
Thank you for understanding the emotion here. Such a desperately sad song and you get it and respect it. ❤️
Its talent when your singing and words can bring a cold hard heart to shed a tear.
Decided to watch all of the Chris reactions tonight. There’s so many. Lol. Thanks, Jamal.

I am from Australia and can tell you, it's ridiculous how far reaching this bloke is. He is a phenomenon.

I always enjoy your reaction. I can see you really have an appreciation for the art.
Chris has been blessed with the gift of song writing, singing and ability to play an instrument!!!!
He is incredible live. My husband and I saw him in Cincinnati a while back and it was magical. He is on another level.
DEFINITELY 👍🏾
I learned to play this song a few weeks ago. One of my favorites. Sometimes Less=More.
“I drink cuz I’m lonesome, I’m lonesome cuz I drink.” Best line ever!!!!
Absolutely

This is one of my favorite songs by him. Thanks for reacting to it.

Wow! Oh! The rain does make it better.
He is a true blessing to music!!! He's REAL AND RAW talent...in all forms! Check out Tennessee Whiskey. He's most famous for that song.

Coming from a family of alcoholics this song touches a nerve and I cry almost every time I hear it.
