I am Chris' limo driver been with him fot 8 years. I can personally confirm him and his wife are genuinely the nicest and introspective couple you will ever meet
Just in case please tell them both that I’ve just discovered Chris and this song brings me to my knees. Sometimes talent is just gifted from the heavens. Please pass my regards from England.
I AM SO PROUD THAT Y'ALL FINALLY REACTED TO THIS MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!! 2 MORE BY CHRIS THAT YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO REACT TO ARE "MORE OF YOU" & "WHEN THE STARS COME OUT". NO ONE WILL BE DISAPPOINTED I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When his first solo album came out I went to see him at an outdoor venue on Long Island and I was directly in front of the stage taping a song and I could not believe the sheer power in his voice and I've been to 100's of concerts. This man's vocals are something 👽
He uses this one for his acoustic performances. Its just the one he has written all of his songs on and feels most comfortable on not to mention it has great tone. Willie Nelson has a guitar that he has worn a hole in were his hand rests on it, he has used I think since the 1970's.
@@Raul-ef2ie when you find your favorite...you'll wear the varnish off it and expose the wood to the point where it might scratch you a bit but it's worth it.
Miss Asia your expressions while Chris Stapleton sings is everyyyything. I mean I know I look exactly the same fully invested and feeling it. Thank You for letting listen with both of you…. Love you both Lisa
It's a 1953 I think but a Gibson he's had the neck rebuilt but he has several guitars but this is his go to that's why you see it so much no telling the songs he has written on that guitar
if THAT doesnt touch you straight to your soul, you're dead....No voice like Chris's...He is so talented, first playing with a bluegrass group, Steeldrivers, then a rock/blues band The Jompson Brothers. He writes songs, sings and plays the heck out of that guitar. Not many people can grab your attention like this with just a song and guitar. I love your reactions.
Goodness gracious. I have never seen this version of the song and I don't know what it is about chris but he always sounds even better if possible when he singslave❤❤❤❤❤❤
On the full version of the Tiny Desk concert this video comes from, someone asked about his guitar right before this song and he said he didn't do all the damage to it and he got it that way 12 years before. He then said out of all his guitars, this is the one he always ends up coming back to. (his wife made a joke about him having A LOT of guitars)
When you good at something whether it’s sports, yet a chef, or a singer you stick to what works! For him that guitar means everything to him! Plus it’s one of the most expensive guitars they sell
I came here to say the same about Willie Nelson's guitar. it does have HOLES thru it. It has a unique sound to it as does, a signature sound. The 1st few notes played & you can recognize that it's Willie playing. Just discovering , came across a video of him & his wife singing a duet & loved their sound. I don't listen to country music much anymore. It so different than the older " country " .Really like his wife's voice blended with his.❤
Hit 16 years sober tomorrow, i showed up in recovery group 16 years ago today hopeless out of options and dying. Organs shutting down. On march 7th i picked up a 24 hour white chip for my first 24 hours without alcohol and drugs in me. Still amazed it worked and gave me a life i never knew i needed.
"I got a problem, but it ain't like what you think. I drink because I'm lonesome and I'm lonesome because I drink. But if I don't breakdown and bring it on myself, it'll hit out of the blue." You can't write that unless you've felt it.
Re your guitar comment about why he plays it all the time. Artists feel comfortable with guitars and many often stick with one for as long as possible. Paul McCartney has played the same bass guitar since before he joined The Beatles and uses it to this day. I personally have the same acoustic for 20 year now. Love your reaction and love how you got Whiskey and you. ✌️❤️🇮🇪🎄
I loved that B.J. mentioned that "this is a fly guitar". Asia was almost there...y'all should have picked up on the age of whiskey, the burden of this broken relationship, and the age and color of his guitar.
Different woods create different tone, when you hear your tone you just know.he has an extensive collection,a worn guitar is like your favorite pair of worn in jeans 🎸 👖
You asked why he plays that particular guitar and there is an interview and he talks about why he plays that specific guitar amd that he’ll never get it restored and or ever get rid of it. He and his wife said he owns 100’s of acoustic and electric guitars and that this one particularly is special to him and he’ll never get rid of it and will always use it .
We country boys, almost always start out on acoustic guitars, and when we find the right one, for the right sound for a song we want to sound a certain way, for us, that's home. We even name our guitars. Willie Nelson's favorite guitar, Trigger, has holes all over it, from him playing it for so very, very long. The longer we play a guitar, the better it sounds, holes, scuffs scars and all. Our guitar comes to be a part of us.
He has a huge tour going right now, nationwide and some Canadian dates. Has been going for several months now. Lots of dates remain, but don't know if it would match your location.
A players guitar that's worn from being played is like a old friend, they have been threw alot together and still here they are, together making sweet music, tatters n all. A man's favorite hat is the same thing, it's part of him, that hats seen alot of his life, another steady friend.
I think that's his favorite acoustic guitar. He wrote a lot of songs on it. It has a good sound to it. You guys should check out the guitar that Willie Nelson plays. It has a big hole in it lol. But, it's his favorite one and he plays it all the time.
That Guitar has covered songs in Honky Tonks across the South and, and like me its shows its age and every little bump its crossed. I love the reaction but the song has magic in it.
If you ever notice Willie always plays a certain guitar that has a lot of wear and tear. I have noticed Chris does the same. Willie says it has a certain tune he likes. Maybe Chris feels the same.
Just like Willie Nelson. The one guitar they started out with and write their songs. Willies guitar has a hole in it from all the years. I think you should check Willie Nelson out. A all time great in all of music.
I am Chris' limo driver been with him fot 8 years. I can personally confirm him and his wife are genuinely the nicest and introspective couple you will ever meet
Highly doubt Chris’s “Limo Driver” of 8 years would be watching reaction videos of his songs on RUclips! 🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
🧢
Lies. Regardless...I LOVE him/her.
Just in case please tell them both that I’ve just discovered Chris and this song brings me to my knees. Sometimes talent is just gifted from the heavens. Please pass my regards from England.
@@coreygrubb9033 Its him, I met him it Atlanta while Chris was doing interview and he was in limo watching reaction videos.
Stapleton could heal the world with a single concert.
only if but I like the way you think
I think my favorite line in the song is “ I drink because I’m lonesome and I’m lonesome cuz I drink.“
I think anyone could pick any line in this song and say it's outstanding. Great song.
@@sharcrum Most definitely!!!
That old guitar, like a good friend, just keeps playing and helping him write his magic.
This is one of my favorite Chris Stapleton songs! It’s a song that you can interpret several ways.
This is exactly why you have to listen to him acoustic live because he's flawless
I wish he would do a completely acoustic album. It is him at his best.
The tone of sadness and regret in his voice grab you.
Chris writes some deep songs!

I think only a musician can understand the connection between you and your guitar

I would definitely recommend Chris's live show is fantastic.

Chris Stapleton song Outlaw State of Mind!Chris Stapleton is from Kentucky and we love him,so proud!Great review!
I think the reason why he uses that guitar a lot is because he’s comfortable with it. As you can see it’s kind of worn. Some artist are like that.
It's a 1953 I think but a Gibson he's had the neck rebuilt but he has several guitars but this is his go to that's why you see it so much no telling the songs he has written on that guitar
Yes he still performs and is currently performing. I just saw him about a month ago in New Jersey. It was absolutely amazing

Love y’all’s reactions. Being a country boy myself I know country is all about telling stories that almost everyone can relate with
I saw Chris' concert on Aug 12 in Raleigh, NC, so yes he is performing live again!
The NPR tiny desk performances are great there usually mostly acoustic, Chris is awesome
Goodness gracious. I have never seen this version of the song and I don't know what it is about chris but he always sounds even better if possible when he singslave❤❤❤❤❤❤
omg , this is so pure and clear from the heart

A well-worn guitar is a symbol of a great artist. Willie’s guitar, Trigger, has big holes in it.
Especially a beat up old Gibson!! That's my go to guitar
I came here to say the same about Willie Nelson's guitar. it does have HOLES thru it. Alone with just an acoustic guitar the guy is amazing.
With a Telecaster and professionals with him he is amazing
Bottom line here is Chris is among those great story tellers
Hit 16 years sober tomorrow, i showed up in recovery group 16 years ago today hopeless out of options and dying.

It's about the tone and hoe it feels in his hands, how it plays. A guitar gets like that from bring played over the years.
I loved that B.J. mentioned that "this is a fly guitar". Asia was almost there...y'all should have picked up on the age of whiskey, the burden of this broken relationship, and the age and color of his guitar.
As a guitarist, we have our go-to guitar because of the feel and tone. You know it’s gonna sound good
He’s performing. Saw him in Tulsa early November (2021). Awesome live…. No surprise.
This song is deep but I love anything Chris Stapleton
This man sings what I can't say.
Yall hit it spot on...keep em comin...62 year old former marine from south carolina
Different woods create different tone, when you hear your tone you just know.he has an extensive collection,a worn guitar is like your favorite pair of worn in jeans 🎸 👖
Having seen Chris live, I can honestly say, he’s not the best performer I’ve ever seen live, but he is, by far, the best vocalist I’ve seen live.
His vocals are so superior he doesn't need all the other stuff.
you should also check out "Simple Song" from Chris Stapleton. Kinda similar in that it's stripped down stroytelling.
Great song, Great reaction!
Ahhhh finally my favorite Stapleton song!!!
Yes!!!!
He simply likes the sound and the feel of that guitar
This Song kills me. I love the lyrics and along with the DA just expects every
Will be handed out.
He said he found that guitar in the shape it’s in. Had it fixed up and likes the tone of it.
This guy don’t miss👍
chris is a favorite

He bought the Guitar because he fell in love with the Tone and it has got a beautiful Tone.
He can sing so beautiful.
He's coming to Maryland in August !!!! I'll be there
Love u guys! If you watch the three song set that this is part of he talks about the guitar right before this song. NPR tiny desk.
One heck of a performer hard to beat this is a musician
If you watch the whole NPR session he tells a story about it. Pretty interesting ngl
Listen to invisible by the Jompson Brothers
Stapleton was the lead singer for the band
Next on my list watch Chris stapleton's NPR tiny desk concert it's been awhile❤❤❤

I heard In RUclips interviews that acoustic guitar he’s playing with is the one he writes music to.
Asia is Absolutely correct I have seen the guitar on sometimes I cry and this is obviously from part of his n p r tiny desk show❤❤❤❤❤
A players guitar that's worn from being played is like a old friend, they have been threw alot together and still here they are, together making sweet music, tatters n all. A man's favorite hat is the same thing, it's part of him, that hats seen alot of his life, another steady friend.
Nobody does it better than Chris. Just a man and a guitar. Every guitar player has a favorite guitar. I know I do.
Goosebumps man...goosebumps
I can't help but tie this song into Bonnie Raitt's JUST LIKE THAT because of the dominance of a few strings being plucked.
Yes he bought that guitar at a pond shop because he liked how it was broke in and a sound that he wanted .
Man, I wanna drink a beer and hang out with y'all...
I think that's his favorite acoustic guitar. He wrote a lot of songs on it. It has a good sound to it. You guys should check out the guitar that Willie Nelson plays. It has a big hole in it lol. But, it's his favorite one and he plays it all the time.
He said he bought the guitar like this already! Used and abused but still plays beautiful music!!!
this whole tiny desk concert is great....his wife sings with him in the first part of it...it's something to see
that 's the guitar that he start his music journey on.
it's special to him.
the guitar
He rescued the guitar. It was caked with mud. Of course had to restring etc. it’s just his friend.
That Guitar has covered songs in Honky Tonks across the South and, and like me its shows its age and every little bump its crossed. I love the reaction but the song has magic in it.
We all go bere
Yep he still tours look up Chis Stapleton's tour date's.
loved BJ's comments
It don’t get no better
Incredible.
Please do "Fire Away" by him
Checkout the Steel drivers, it's the bluegrass band he started in and I think I'll like it too
If I don't break down and bring it on myself, it'll hit out of the blue.......damn!
If you ever notice Willie always plays a certain guitar that has a lot of wear and tear. I have noticed Chris does the same. Willie says it has a certain tune he likes. Maybe Chris feels the same.
Guess he has I get to see him June 17th
Asia, you are smitten! I love it!
If you want to see how versitile he is listen to his song Cold
Yes
Just like Willie Nelson. The one guitar they started out with and write their songs. Willies guitar has a hole in it from all the years. I think you should check Willie Nelson out. A all time great in all of music.
I fell in love with this song when Tim Mcgraw had it on one of his albums. Chris wrote it and he sang it better.
Man drunkards prayer was a good song too. He said he’s never drank but he must have been around some drinkers to write these songs
GUITARS HAVE A SOUL .WHEN YOU CONNECT ONE IT'S SPECIAL. CHECK OUT WILLY NELSON.
he uses that guitar because of ITS sound, he purchased it at a pawn shop...cheap.
Y'all need to react to more of you.......
Chris Stapleton sounds like he does on the radio as he does live. Plus In a lot of other songs I dont think he gets the credit for his guitar playing.
plus he writes
Wow
The low e string is tuned to D and I’m guessing he just leaves it for this song
I'm an alcoholic. This song is me.
Pretty sure that hat was a gift...
What’s the name of your intro song?
