I bought this as a gift for my friend ruclips.net/user/postUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.
From repurposing the cabinets into a banquet bench, the bookshelf, rearranging the stove and the idea of using the curtain rod for the pans! OMG it turned out so so great! You're amazing! It's also so inspiring that you did most of it yourself! Wow!
I can’t believe you showed us a kitchen gut and remodel from start to finish in just 10 minutes😱 it looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL. And I love all the up-cycles you did. The patience this must have taken is incredibly. Amazing job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
I like that she unscrews the kitchen cabinets to take them down rather than swinging a sledge hammer. Taking them down like the way she did is so much more predictable and it would seem easier to collect the mess if you are going to throw them out. I also like how she cut lines into the floor so she could remove it flooring in sections.
Also, by salvaging them you can donate them to a Rebuilding Center if your area has one. Where I live you can find so many pieces of hardware, cabinetry, doors, etc. at a fraction of the price of new building materials, saving them from th dump. This should be normalized in every city.
The floating shelf gallery aligned and sized with the range hood was the FIRST thing i noticed… PERFECTION! I truly appreciate the upcycle reuse of cabinets versus sledge hammer land fill. KUDOS
I like that you reused the kitchen cabinets and the hutch instead of getting all new trendy stuff. I really like the dark green cabinets and overall colors used in the space. Looks really good and in style. The only thing I don't like is the open shelves; just a preference. Amazing job!!
She actually did some amazing, inspiring work overall! WOW, very impressed with her skills, energy and creativity - she's all woman, repurposing perfectly good solid wood cabinetry vs. destroying it with a sledgehammer. well done. I agree with the dislike of open shelves - EVERYTHING on them will get the film of grease and collect more dust as a result. If you haven't experienced it you just "blindly" follow the trend. Well if you don't actually cook or fry then I guess it may not collect the grease, etc. If I did it, it would have different heights of shelves and some large items or pictures on them to avoid the blank wall. to each his own - it is quite a transformation! I too like green - one youtube designer said STOP using green, it's gone out of style. Well, I say who cares about "style"? I LIKE green and have for years. the shades have changed, but green is figurative of nature and is peaceful and calm, as is blue. I'd say stay away from gray, it is so dull. the all gray homes are so boring and sterile looking - no life. I just don't get that all gray trend.
Bottom line: there is a “design intelligence” here that is coupled with a strong sense of purposeful DIY that is simply unmatched by many people. I have redesigned my own kitchen remodel, built and/or repurposed some of the cabinets, moved appliances to new locations, changed piping, electrical, installed new recessed lighting, new moldings, new counters, and installed new flooring etc. I am quite “handy”. But, I don’t have the terrific design sensibilities that the Mrs. Woods possesses. THAT is what makes the whole package. Well done Mrs. Woods, we’ll done.
I'm a professional carpenter, and I am very impressed by your determination and ingenuity. Looks like you do exceptional work! Keep it up. It's very inspiring
I’ve always loved a man who can do things with his hands and make beautiful spaces and furniture. Now I absolutely love and adore you. Everything you did was absolutely gorgeous and I would be happy to live there too❤ Beautiful, gorgeous, inspiring, talented, confident, you’ve got it all.
You did a awesome job 👍👍👍👍 That "small "kitchen (just the countertop space ) was much bigger then my first 3 house's. To have that much countertop and additional floor space would have been a dream.
This is so impressive and has gotten me even more excited to take on projects in my (hopefully) future home! Love your re-use rather than going straight to demo as too many do these days.
Yes I don't understand why people tear everything up when taking it out and down. They can always go to Habitat for Humanity resale store, sold on Facebook Marketplace, and simply given for Free. So many people don't have the money to buy new. But look how her's turn out. With sanding, painting, and new hardware. We are such a throw away society anymore. It's shameful 😬
You have really progressed a lot in your skills in a short amount time. This was a pretty complex project, and you saved yourself a bundle doing so much on your own, and you did a wonderful job. And I like the way you re-purpose and refinish. You show that you don't need a lot of new stuff in a room to give it a major workover. You're an inspiration!
You probably saved yourself a lot of money by NOT having to buy new cabinets. Having the open shelf gives the appearance of more room and better lighting with the 3 wall sconces above the floating shelf. It makes the kitchen look more spacious because you already have the green paint and if you had the same green paint and built upper cabinets I think your kitchen would look much darker. Great job on everything you put your mind and imagination to.
wow. what a transformation. i watched the other episodes as they came out but when you see the before and after shots, it stills surprises you. you created a beautiful kitchen!
What separates you from other DIY's is your fearlessness. Many people are afraid to do repairs because they don't have all the skills or they are afraid they will mess up a project. You have confidence in your ability to just figure it out, well done!!
I admire your dedication and creativity, because my outdated and small kitchen could fit inside your small kitchen twice. I'd be in heaven to have a kitchen the size of yours.
It looks great! I like open shelves in non-kitchen living spaces. I would have installed some uppers for bowls and glasses. It would be inconvenient to put them in the banquet bench and I wouldn't want dust and oil vapors to collect on them.
Absolutely agree with your Sledgehammer comment re the DIY shows and the supposed “experts” on those shows! Great job on your new kitchen, it looks awesomely updated without looking out of place.
You did a wonderful job and are so inspiring! If you mentioned, I somehow missed it, but popcorn ceiling texture can contain asbestos (not always) and there are kits you can get to test before removal. This is actually giving me the motivation to tackle our own kitchen refresh. There are some things I don’t want to touch since we live in an old condo with other units, but I can definitely get behind refinishing our cabinets and adding some floating shelves since my main complaint is aesthetics and storage. Thank you for sharing!
you just gave me the inspiration to re do my scratch and dent fridge that came with my home. Im in the process of making my kitchen more moody and I love the concept of a darker color without having to buy an entirely new fridge.
Amazing!! I watched this project from the beginning and it was still a wonderful surprise to see the full reveal. Please don't make me pick a "favorite feature". This is so cohesive that it just needs to be appreciated in it's entirety. You did an amazing job with this project. Also curious about how the fridge handle holds up, it would be great if it will stand the test of time, maybe revisit that later so we can see if it's a "good idea/bad idea". Give yourself a pat on the back and be proud of what you have made.
I’m also interested in a fridge handle update. If it doesn’t work, I think the hinges can be moved to make the door swing the other way….but I’m not sure all fridges can do that.
Thank you for your commitment to upcycling so many items. It always makes me nauseous when I see reno done with the smash and dump approach. Then, thousands of dollars are spent to redo. Good job! Very creative!
Melissa - You hit a home run with your renovation! My favorites are the color you chose for the cabinets and the flooring! I would have used butcher block for the counter! But what you did is great! Thanks for the tips you provide!

Wow girl I love this!! 🤩 I’m a petite woman myself and though I love DYI projects and built some furniture by myself, I never thought a petite woman renovating an entire kitchen or updating an entrance door on my own would be possible. I felt empowered by watching your video! Thank you! ❤
I always wondered when I got a home was to repurpose cabinets and furniture and you literally did all of that on the video! Such an inspiration and the final reveal is sooo beautiful

That was so impressive. You are a real craftsman and what a talent for design. Every little detail is eye catching in that kitchen. Your repurposing of material makes a project like this special and for interesting story telling to your guest.
Wow! What an incredible makeover! While I'm very impressed with your DIY skills and determination, your creative vision just astounds me. How on earth you could look at that ghastly pink cabineted kitchen and visualized this amazingly charming room just boggles my mind. And THEN make it a reality. Well done! I think re-purposing the book shelf was my favorite trick. Or perhaps the floating shelves.
Oh my goodness!!! You did a fantastic job... talk about super power, the fact you kept the old and repurposed is definitely a winning factor.. what a true inspiration... fabulous fabulous fabulous
This kitchen remodel is incredible. How and when did you learn all the skills necessary to take on this beast of a challenge??? It seems very intimidating to me, but I really enjoyed watching you work your magic and turn this space into a beautiful kitchen!
Wow! You are amazing! you still had some help from your family or friends. Beautiful! I'm concerned about the rotisserie getting to hot around the cabinet. You should send this video to the prince in Saudi Arabia so he could see what a woman could do!
OMG....the new kitchen is BEAUTIFUL.....you are so blessed to have the talent and stamina to do that yourself.....and you should be very proud of your accomplishment!!!
I am so impressed! I wouldn't have even thought it possible to re-use those cabinets and make them look that good! The floating shelves, the concrete, the FRIDGE - I mean C'MON :)
I just remodeled my old, small kitchen. Removed 4 layers of linoleum and removed all cabinets, appliances (converted stove from electric to gas), etc. I’m totally amazed at her skills and talents to do this project nearly solo. Excellent job!
This is really awesome, and I love the pottery from your sister. I have mixed feelings about upper shelves vs. upper cabinets. Our kitchen in Mpls seems to never have enough storage. But that hutch you made for the air fryer was the best idea that I might borrow. I’d love to tuck away my microwave, toaster and Vitamix in something like that. Well done!
I agree. Floating shelves are nice to look at when 'staged', but kitchens need as much storage as possible, otherwise it creates visual clutter and the sense that the kitchen is messy.
I think it depends on how much you actually use your kitchen. I would kill for more storage in my small kitchen so I hate the trend of no upper cabinets but some people use the room just for show. If you do cook it is also hell to clean all the greasy decor on those shelves. It's very pretty and I love displays like that but I would have to move it to another room.
You did a nice job. It's warm and inviting, yet updated. So many ppl go 100% stark and "cool-cold" tones, colors, surfaces. This will look as nice in evening light as it does during the day.
Great job! Very inspiring! Love the colors and finishes. Great job reusing all that you did. Quick tip: Drywall mud can be leved with a wet rag instead of dry sanding, this means you get the task done quicker and without wearing a mask and making a dust mess. Cheers!
@@kimberlyscrivner9373 Yes use spary bottle and metal putty knife or taping knife to scrape the surface flat. Or just a damp rag to rub the surface flat. Here is a link to a video... ruclips.net/video/kRCpTHi00Mc/видео.html
Love watching your channel as well as all your ideas and craftsmanship. This kitchen is dreamy and I love the colors you’ve chosen. Great work! Totally impressed.
Absolutely incredible! I've been watching you for a year or so, and I'm so amazed at what you're able to accomplish. You've got a great vision to see projects through!
I am in awe on the skill of this build, and the attention to detail! I would have used a faucet fixture that coordinated a little better with the pulls used throughout that have a less ornate and more angular look. I am obsessed with skylights too so I’d love to see a video on that if that’s something you’d consider!
Unreal. A true DIYer! I love how you repurpose so much instead of just replace things. It takes so much skill and imagination to accomplish such a magnificent transformation. Well done!
Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. If you lack market knowledge, your best bet is to seek advice or support from a consultant or investing coach. Contacting a consultant may sound simple, but it's how I've managed to stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. I would have used a faucet fixture that coordinated a little better with the pulls used throughout that have a less ornate and more angular look. I am obsessed with skylights too so I’d love to see a video on that if that’s something you’d consider!
Agree about the faucet, beautiful though it is.
Me- Just gonna re-paint some old cabinets, put on new hardware and update a floor... and I am feeling overwhelmed. You- Are amazing! Wow nice job!!
This is not a small kitchen 😂
Exactly
JAW DROPPING you make it look so easy, but ohmygosh THATS A LOT OF WORK and the results are GORGEOUS
OMG wonder woman exists in real. I'm impressed. Congratulations. You have done a wonderful job.
i prefer your old kitchen, it's very cute.
That's awesome what you did with the fridge. I wouldn't have thought it possible. The hardware is a really nice touch.
Good job but this is not a small kitchen
Unreal. A true DIYer! I love how you repurpose so much instead of just replace things. It takes so much skill and imagination to accomplish such a magnificent transformation. Well done!

It is, in my opinion, the best way to get started in the industry right now.
you’re literally amazing! queen of repurposing.
