      I think it's because of the string. I had the same problem and changed to a thinner one, more bending or flexible and it worked.

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry  3 года назад +2

      I think this happens when the center bead is too large. Try to find a smaller center bead. If the circle around the center is a little larger than the center, they should all stay in alignment. Other possibility is your thread tension. It should be taut but not super tight.

    Hi! Thank you for this! I noticed that you already have two layers of string for a more reinforced bracelet. How are those two layers placed? I couldn't see the edge of the strings so I'm not sure how they're supposed to be set up so I could knot them at the end.

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry  3 года назад

      It's really easier with a single string - like 6 or 8 lb fireline. I doubled the string because I was using Nylon size D which can be soft. To use a doubled string, you just do it like regular sewing. Thread your needle, pull it to the middle of the thread, make a knot (in my case, the knot is inside a clamshell bead tip).

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry  3 года назад +1

      absolutely! This works with most size beads. You may need to adjust the number of 'petal' beads to fully circle the center bead and avoid thread showing (or adjust the size of the center bead).

  • @rachelraquel758
    @rachelraquel758 2 года назад

    Could you please state sizes? What size are your seed beads? 2mm or 3mm. What is the thickness of your elastic or string?

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry  2 года назад

      For the daisies in the video, I used size 11 Preciosa Brand seed beads. They are approximately 2 mm in size and they are more donut shaped than other brands like Toho or Miyuki. They are also slightly more irregular which I find to be a really nice quality for the daisies. However, I think any brand or size can work, but you may have to alter the number of beads you use to surround the center bead.
      As for the string, for this video I used a double strand of nylon thread, Nymo brand size D. I don't normally double my thread and I'm not sure why I did here - probably just my mood that day and it makes it a little stronger. I've also made daisies with FireLine or WildFire or other brands of fishing line. They are stiffer than nylon thread. Honestly, you can even use sewing thread, it just tangles more easily and wears faster. I wouldn't use elastic though.
      Hope that helps.

    • @LisaYangJewelry

      Yeesh I typically pull out whatever is nearby that seems like it would work. If you’re just getting started, I highly recommend investing in the Boss’ Bead Bag from fire mountain gems. It’s a grab bag of beads and findings. I’ve bought 3 or 4 and can rummage through and always find the right jump ring or clasp or a finding I never knew I needed.
