“Love’s Country Store” is a regular convenience store / gas station. “Love’s Travel Stop” is a truckstop.
When I used to go on road trips as a kid. It didn't feel like a road trip till you hit the loves to fill up on snacks and soda
I wish you would do more cooking and “off the clock” stuff, that’s my favorite

33:44 Alex. Always check your maps. If you doubt a truck stop, try to find their number and call and ask. Because some times truck stops don’t show up on the map, but the pin is there.

Something I used to do when my doors would come unhooked, was I’d grab the chain on the door, give it a twist or two, then hook again. Doors never came unhooked when I went to back into a dock again

Crazy. I live 1.5 miles from this location in Oklahoma. Its considered Edmond, OK. The water/amusement park was Frontier City. Just left there yesterday! haha. awesome. Also, watched fireworks from this exact truck stop on July 4th. Great view

Grain elevators have scales out in rural areas that I think you could call and see if they would weigh you.
You do realize on ramps are for picking up speed when getting on the highway right ?

for those thinking how the hell theres no room in a warehouse for product, its not there isn't enough room its just that they unload faster than they can put away those pallets into the racks, because before they do that depending on place product and pallets need to be inspected and scanned into the system. so sometimes one truck load can sit on the dock for couple days before they get to it and trucks just keep coming

I found when backing my truck, to put it in manual Reverse gear 1, so it doesn't shift to a higher reverse gear, making backing very bad.
Twist the door chain to tighten up.
I wish car washes were like the truck wash you used, Alex.
Could you maybe twist the door chain one time to make it shorter.
To shorten the door chain just slide the first link back and use the second one
I use truckers app...knock on wood, I haven't had the problem with finding scales or truck stop.
Hammer is also great. Shows you truckstops/parking along your rout if you want. I love that feature
Man, having done yard jockey work for the past year. I would back that trailer in for you in less then 30 secs.
Yard Jokey with a very short single axle yard tractor. Also with a steering that turns on a dime.. Once in a while when id come in the terminal during the daytime. I was asked to park the trailer I had at door such and such.. During the day there was always lots of activity going on in the yard. Sometimes it would take a little bit of an effort kind of like it took the kid on this vidéo (Alex) Yard guys always liked to rib a highway guy over stuff like that. Id remind them that I had a 240 inch tractor. no back window to cheat with. AND i still got it in the spot in two try's!!!
@@emilepellerin6064 while I do use a yard spotter all day. A couple times a day we have to back in a trailer using a day cab or twin screw. There is certain techniques that make backing up very easy. The guy in the video does not know them.

Good Ol’ Frontier City!!!! At one time you could get a summer pass for $39.99 and go everyday all day. It was awesome.
Hey kiddo look at your suspension guage see what it says look where your tandems are and where your load sits in the trailer and if everything looks good you don’t need a scale. Fyi your fifth wheel should always be one notch forward of dead center of your drives

6:03 that’s what I do, I pretend the trucks are like 10 feet further forward and I like my trailer to be parallel with those trailers. Here is the trick. Nice and easy in reverse and turn your wheel before you start moving.

You know they have all kinds of apps to find truck stops,weigh stations,just about anything you want, even I know that and l’m very very low tech

Get yourself a half gallon juice bottle (plastic) with a big mouth and a bottle of bleach carry That in your truck and you’ll never get jammed up with having to pee,of course the bottle has to be empty and when it gets about half full dump it down a storm drain or in the grass then rinse it out with some bleach 😉

Sounds like Garmin isn't properly classifying Truck Stops from Gas Stations...maybe you can send in a Support ticket to Garmin about that. Thought that was the point of a fancy OTR Garmin device?

Guthrie Loves. My favorite
Can you not get a camera at the rear end of the trailer and wire to a screen at the cab or wirelessly connect your phone ? Provides better visibility for backing up. Maybe get two cameras, one for either side. Strange that in USA , they give 53 foot trailers but expect you to see behind it. Cameras should be standard equipment with the trailer and a data line connection to the cab screen - wire or wireless. The other strange thing is lack of restrooms - hours and gallons of gas spent in trying to find one when you trying to hold back. Shippers need to provide restrooms if they expect trucks to pick up their shipments.
It ain't too hard to know where the rear of your trailer is. If it's tight you just get out and look.
