Stinky Pete, Randall, Henry J. Waternose, Stromboli, Turbo/King Candy, Charles Muntz, ScreenSlaver, Syndrome, Lotso, Gabby Gabby, Charles Muntz, Auto and Ernesto La Cruz being revealed to be the villains of Pinocchio, Toy Story 2, Coco, Monsters’ Inc. The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2, Wreck-It-Ralph, Up, Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4 and Wall-E is executed correctly as they reveal their villainy halfway through the movie instead of the very end and they come off as real villains who actual contribute to the plots of the movies they appear in with personalities and backstories behind how they became villains and proper goals behind their motives and intentions but Bellwether, Sir Axlerod, Doug, Duke Weaeselton, Prince Hans and Yokai being revealed to be the villains of Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Zooptoia plus Cars 2 is executed wrong because they reveal and show their villainy and antagonism too late into the movies and demote them to minor and supporting characters and come off as generic doomsday villains, plot devices and plot-irrelevant villains who no proper goals behind their motives and only exist to create the external conflicts for the heroes and protagonists to resolve in the movie (And their plots and conflicts would have remained the same and had little or no change without them around to interfere with it.) when all its conflict mostly just comes from their character arcs and character developments to change into better people and them resolving the internal conflicts within themselves (In Elsa, Mater, Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps and Hiro’s cases of course.) related to Dory, Marlin, Maui, Moana, Nemo, Joy, Sadness, Ralph, Cruz, Lightning McQueen, Bing Bong, Wade and Ember in Finding Nemo, Cars, Cars 3 (Despite still having villains, Chick Hicks and Jackson Storm.) and Ralph Breaks the Internet, Moana (Despite still having villains, Arthur and Te Ka and Tamoata.) and Inside Out and Elemental.
When I was watching Zootopia, I thought the lion was the villain and the sheep was the good person. Man, was I wrong! Zootopia actually taught me to be more aware of persons before I can trust them cause who knows if they're wearing a dark mask.
I still remember my jaw dropping when King Kandy turned into Turbo. I knew he was the villain but I never thought he would be Turbo. That blew my mind.
I was surprised too but after watching it again, I noticed a bunch of clues setting up that plot twist: his car wasn’t candy-themed and it looked an awful lot like Turbo’s car in his original game; in the flashback explaining the origin of “going Turbo”, the same voice actor was used to voice both Turbo in the flashback and King Candy (which I caught the first time I watched it but brushed it off to just Disney utilizing Alan Tudyk for the heck of it); he claimed that Wreck-it Ralph’s medal was lost forever in the coding network when he knew exactly where to find it all along (and just to piggyback off of that deception, the entrance to the coding network in such a newer arcade game was an OLD Nintendo controller); and for such a new game, King Candy sure had a TON of medals. I’m sure there’s more I could add but I can’t remember anything else at the moment
I agree, even some of the characters in the film especially Ralph and Felix thought Turbo was gone for good up until the climax of the film where both of them were watching the Monitor screen as Vanellope's glitching causes, King Candy, to glitch, revealing himself to be Turbo. This led Felix and Ralph to be shocked and speechless at the sight of this revelation.
I mean it was kind of obvious, there was something off about King Candy. He's much older and seems so different compared to all the other racers. I mean his castle was pink and looked way too girly to belong to an old man. So I had a feeling but what I didn't expected was that King Candy was actually Turbo.
The plot twist in Coco always makes me cry every time when we find out that Hector is Miguel's actual great great grandfather. I've watched Coco like a thousand times since it came out. It's still my favorite animated movie to this day.
I remember being in the theatre watching Wreck it Ralph with my sister and friend. During the turbo scene, I flipped out and started whispering to them “OH MY GOSH THAT IS KING CANDY’S VOICE IT’S HIM”. They thought I was way overthinking it. I celebrated so hard when it was finally revealed.
Disney twist logic: "Hey man, we have this one character that needs more depth." "Make her a twist villain." "What? We have no clues and the film is almost done!" " Just do it." "Ugh fine..."
The ending of Onward honestly should’ve been on this list. It was Ian’s dream to finally meet his biological father only to realize how Barley has been there for him all his life. So when Ian gave up that one chance to finally come face to face with Wilden and give Barley the closure he so well needed and deserved, it was just something that no one would ever expect to see coming.
Yeah. If I'm being honest, Brother Bear might be my favorite Disney movie. It's much, MUCH better than people give it credit for, and scenes like this are good reasons why.
20 -as a kid, I was shocked 19 -had no idea 18 -as a kid, I would say What The F*** 17 -that almost made me cry 16 -WHAT?!?! 15 -Even in theaters as a kid but What? 14 -Figures but it’s sweet 13 -Watching that one, I’m like OMG 12 -Who knew someone stinky was the villain? 11 -As a kid, that shocked me 10 -That got me sad when the song started to play 9 -Definitely Didn’t See That Coming 8 -That was something I didn’t suspect 7 -Didn’t think it’d be obvious 6 -Wait, What?!?! 5 -Gasp 4 -Holy Sh*t! That one surprised me!!! 3 -I find that weird but shocking at the same time 2 -I was BLOWN AWAY 1 -That one is the REAL SHOCKER and a huge gasp to see that he’s a major disney villain dick of all time!
"The Incredibles" and "Brother Bear" plot twists still give me goosebumps like it's my first time watching them. I mean... - You find out all your hero friends are dead at the hands of a machine built by your "biggest fan"; and - You have befriended a bear cub and become like his big brother only to find out you killed his mother and made him an orphan How do you come back from that?!?!?
I swear those plot twist terrorised me more than Mufasa’s death. I seriously just wanted Kenai to die at that moment when I watched that revelation as a kid, also made me be wary of crazy fans of any fandom.
Well, when it’s thought of, Hades owning Meg was something we didn’t learn at the end when Hercules loses his power. We learned it after the whole scuffle with Nesses. We just learned the whole backstory behind it during that climax.
@@movietimeateds69 Yeah. It barely felt believable at all due to lazy writing and crappy storytelling. It also didn't help that it had such a rushed production.
Have you noticed that the recent Disney movies (Wreck it Ralph 2, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2) all have the same ending with friends/loved- ones going their seperate ways I think it's a very good life lesson that friends are always going to seperate at one point or another but that the friendship doesn't end there and remains the same no matter what
I kinda have a dark theory for Tangled. You know when Eugene says that if Rapunzel tries to heal him, she'll die, what if if this means that whatever Rapunzel heals, she then experiences. Like when she healed Eugene's hand, she could've possessed the same thing on her hand. And maybe, every time she brings Mother Gothels youth back, she grows in age a lot quicker.
Yeah minor swear words in kids movies were a lot more common back that time period. And I'm actually impressed that there are trying to bring that back nowadays.
I even felt Hans revelation in frozen surprising because usually fairy tales have insta-love and they usually don't turn down that way. Go ahead. Call me stupid😔
The Charles F. Muntz plot twist broke my heart. He seemed like an amazing guy at first. It's his quest and loneliness that turned him slowly but surely crazy.
Which is ironic because Moana doesn’t have a villain as much as other Walt Disney Animation Studios movies (it’s bad guys are just obstacles for the characters to overcome for our enjoyment, like the Kakamora, one of them WITH A BAYMAX MASK, SO CUTE!!!!!!, Tamatoa aka Schaffrillas Productions and Te Ka). Regardless, that is an amazing, important message!
I don't get the whole Meg thing. Didn't we know she was working with Hades towards the beginning? That would imply that she had been manipulating Hercules the whole time and not to mention there was multiple instances that also pointed to that same fact, so why was that such a shock towards the end?
22:15 I actually saw that as Anna's own act of true love which resulted in her returning to normal. The act of someone sacrificing themselves for someone else is an incredibly powerful display of love, after all.
Dear people of the comments: Elsa did not save Anna. Mourning does not equal true love. Anna thawed because of her true love for Elsa, shown by her sacrifice. Sincerely, Me
@@thawabalh Ehh...nah...I don't like it... Nothing against her, but I've never seen her actually act in a serious roll, and Meg needs dynamic acting for us to fall in love with her all over again. I don't trust Arianna to do that. Don't ask who I think can. I'm not a casting director for a reason.
I really like the ending of Onward, it should've been in the list. Even if the movie was a typical adventure- fantasy type one and kind of predictable honestly, the ending was surely something.
I agree. I honestly don’t see how the movie is underrated. I see it has charm of good characters, a future and a meaningful quote by Walt Disney but the villain, I can see why
Big Hero 6, Coco, Brother Bear and Moana had such good plot twist. but dammnnnnnn Meet the Robinsons had some of the most surprising plot twists I've ever watched
When Tangled came out, we got to the theater late so we missed the intro, so when Rapunzel realized Gothel wasn't her mother, it was a jaw dropping moment
The Callaghan reveal for Big Hero 6 messed me up really bad. I had convinced myself that the villian was actually Tadashi because I refused to believe he was actually dead..... So when it was revealed to be Callaghan and that he started to fire to begin with..... Devastated all over again
Brother Bear's twist will make me cry to this day even KNOWING what happens. Just the whole way that played out with Kenai rejecting his "love" totem, finally feeling like a big brother to Koda (learning love), and then the realization of what he did with killing Koda's mom. Add Koda's look of absolute betrayal. oof, they don't make them like that anymore. Then you have Coco. They made the whole audience think the Ernesto was the ancestor. Parents where like ok duh so what's the big thing that will make it worth taking my kids to? And even nonparents couldn't help but wonder what the "worth" part would be, BUT to have it played out like that ?!?! Probably the best thing since Brother Bear. Finally with the Big Hero 6 reveal of Callaghan being the man in the mask had me crying out in anger, and pain. Because that means that Tadashi's death was a meaningless sacrifice !!! He went in to HELP Callaghan who was FINE !!!! Tadashi's death broke my heart and then to find out that it didn't have to happen !!!! Let's me tell you the things I screamed "in my head" because they were not kid appropriate, ugh
How about: -Doc Hudson is actually a former racing legend -One of the few Phoenix Gems was in New Mushroomton the whole time -Anna and Elsa's grandfather is the antagonist -Cruz Ramirez is actually an aspiring racer -Miles Axlerod is the leader of the lemons -Evelyn is the real Screenslaver -Commander Lyle Tiberius wants to discover Atlantis just for money and power. -Cobra Bubbles is actually a former CIA agent and met the Grand Councilwoman in 1973. -Blade Ranger is actually a former TV star -Skipper was actually grounded from the navy the whole time after an incident that killed his squadrons
Rourke wanting Atlantis’s treasure wasn’t something he exactly kept a secret, I mean Helga confronted him about Atlantis was supposed to be dead, he simply says “This changes nothing” and even Sweet confirmed ever since he got his hands on the journal he’s been obsessed with finding Atlantis for financial gain
One of the very best animated movies ever made. And who can forget Mr. Big with his "skunk butt rug" speech? I was laughing for days after that. Zootopia 2 is supposed to be released in 2021 (yay! -- if we aren't all dead of COVID by then), and Zootopia 3 is in development.
Many of the plot twists are still massive shocks, the first time I saw King Candy as Turbo, Hector being Miguel's Great-great Grandfather and De La Cruz being a bad guy, and Bellweather being the villain my jaw dropped to the floor.
The movie (Big Hero 6) offered us a *lot* of great things, but I think the best one of all is the fact that we can now officially consider Stan Lee a Disney character! - AniMat (in *Top 5 Best & Worst Animated Films of 2014* ) And this is one of the many reasons why ElectricDragon505 is highly appreciable.
@@kieranstark7213 Yup. Couldn't have a Marvel movie (even an animated Diseny one) without Stan. Sometimes one of the favorite things in a movie is waiting to see what he was going to do for the cameo (loved the one from Captain Marvel where he's on the train with the Mallrats script)
It has been years since I've seen Brother Bear (still one of my favourite disney film of all time), but a few seconds of that clip at the start reminded me of that twist and I. AM. STILL. SHOOK.
I remember watching Meet The Robinson’s, and honestly I don’t understand how I didn’t put together that they were the same person XD Other ones that surprised me: Monsters Inc. Toy Story 2 Coco Big Hero Six (But I kinda stopped thinking it was Cray after the characters thought that) Hercules Meet the Robinson’s (Again) Wreck it Ralph (but honestly his fake story made sense) Zootopia (BUT not the mayor one, the fact that they switched the darts with blueberries XD) Sorta Moana? I didn’t expect it but I wasn’t really surprised
I was legit surprised with Goob, not as much with the reveal of Lewis being Wilbur's dad since the clues (like his hair) were pretty obvious. I'm amazed the reveal with Doris wasn't mentioned. She was obviously intelligent and evil, but I was blown away when they revealed that she basically tricked BHG into getting them to create tons of hats like her just so she could take over the world (and man was it a bleak world). To me, that was the real plot twist of the movie, seeing that she had her own agenda and actually technically succeeded in achieving it.
There’s also a plot twist when Frollo reveals himself after following Quasimodo into the court of miracles, or when Tiana turns into a frog herself after kissing one, or when the Huns are still alive and then Shan Yu appears above the palace in Mulan.
The reason that Han is such a good twist is because originally the creators were going to make him the good guy and Elsa was supposed to be the bad guy. So he was literally being written as if he was the good guy up until the reveal
I knew Hans was bad the moment I saw him because 1. Some things are too good to be true 2. Hans had a childhood that was almost exactly like Anna's ,and opposite's are supposed to attract 3.I have a knack for sensing antagonists in disney films
How did viewers not know Te Fiti was Te Ka all along? In the beginning of the film it described that Te Fiti was upset and Te Ka rose up from the same spot she was at in anger. I realized it right away and didn’t know it was supposed to be a plot twist until I finished the movie.
Funny, I didn't realize - this is the only one that I didn't expect AND did truly surprise me. Then there's the strange case of Hans where I was so sure it would be a certain plot twist - and I got it wrong - that I missed all the clues about the actual one, so it did surprise me. I guess my brain is weird haha
I swear the Maleficent Dragon scene gives me goosebumps every time. One: Because I love dragons. Two: It was just so well done, her lines, the visuals. Just yes
I got emotional when Anna froze to death. Elsa's cry of grief for her sister is gut-wrenching, but I love the twist when Elsa's love brings Anna back. It proves that familial love isn't the only type of love that can break curses. Disney focused so much in the past on romantic love, but don't address sibling love until "Frozen". I like that "Finding Nemo" focuses on the love between parent and child. It shows natural conflict, reconciliation, and unconditional love.
@@merry3perish It's still nice to see that the phrase about true love thawing a frozen heart could also be applied to unconditional love, instead of having to be a romantic relationship.
I don't. As someone who has had really short hair for a long time it was SO nice to see a Disney princess with such a short, adorable hairstyle. The way it wings out really seemed to fit the bubbly nature of her character to me.
Another plot twist: remember Knowsmore said either therapy or the anti virus thing can stop the ralph viruses. I still can't believe they did the therapy instead
Maleficent's turning into a dragon wasn't really a plot twist. It was more of a deus ex machina so the final fight between Philip and Maleficent would be more exciting. A good plot twist is having a supposedly good/evil character turn out to be evil/good. Those are my favorite types of plot twist, anyway, because the payoff is amazing if done right (you have no idea how hilarious some audience reactions were when Hans was revealed to be evil).
Okay, everyone. Don't be idiots for real; make lists for NON-Disney plot twists! Here's my example run: Mighty Eagle & Zeta - The Angry Birds Movie 2 Everything's a game - Dragon Quest: Your Story Rex Dangervest's true identity - The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part The zombies were victims - Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island The Phantom Zone villains - The Lego Batman Movie The Demon of the Cold - Spycies Dr Olivia Octavius - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Ares is the villain - Next Gen
And actually, last comment. How was Doris' reveal not mentioned? Like we knew she was a sentient and evil hat, but she's one of the only villains that technically succeeded in her goals. She tricked Bowler Hat Guy into having them mass produce other hats, used them to take over and WON. Literally the last part of the movie is Lewis changing the bleak future where everyone is controlled by a Doris hat (and the movie did cleverly foreshadow this in a flashback when Doris told BHG her story)...so she actually won and the protagonist had to reverse it rather than stop it.
Personally I thought the Hans reveal was kinda on the nose as soon as Anna teamed up with Kristoff... or even earlier when Elsa told them they couldn’t get married since they had just met but I guess aside from that Disney didn’t foreshadow it too much
Exactly! I don't understand how no one could see that coming, unless they just didn't pay attention at all to the beginning of the movie when Elsa gave an obvious warning.
but saying “you can’t marry a man you just met” isn’t really a warning. it’s just an obvious thing that ppl know. you can’t just date someone you just met or move quickly w them. i didn’t see it coming 🤷🏽♀️.
But all movies befor, the "princess" fall in love with any "prince" how arrived. Just singing together snow white, pocahontas, sleeping beauty, aladdin. It was a cliche and we didn't question it

I'll never get over the plot twist in Coco; I'm really glad that Hector is Miguel's REAL great-great grandfather, not that diablo Ernesto.

Another plot twist for the sequel: Ernesto IS Miguel's great-great grandfather, on his MOTHER'S side! Dun dun DUN!
That reveal blew me away and I legit hated Ernesto, who'd be willing to do such a thing even if Miguel was his great-grandson.

For real! Me mad my bros screamed "PLOT TWIST" because we wanted to
same my jaw dropped

The ending of Onward honestly should’ve been on this list. It was Ian’s dream to finally meet his biological father only to realize how Barley has been there for him all his life. Let me just say BEFORE any movie with family drama, the gods were the first. Not The Lion King, it’s definitely the stories of the gods.
"The Incredibles" and "Brother Bear" plot twists still give me goosebumps like it's my first time watching them. I mean...

- You have befriended a bear cub and become like his big brother only to find out you killed his mother and made him an orphan
How do you come back from that?!?!?
I swear those plot twist terrorised me more than Mufasa’s death. I seriously just wanted Kenai to die at that moment when I watched that revelation as a kid, also made me be wary of crazy fans of any fandom.
That's a VERY good question!!! Dedicate the remainder of your existence to redemption? (I guess that's all/the best thing you COULD do)...
The weird thing is that until I watched this video I never realized that Syndrome killing the Supers was supposed to be a plot twist
Well, when it’s thought of, Hades owning Meg was something we didn’t learn at the end when Hercules loses his power. We learned it after the whole scuffle with Nesses. We just learned the whole backstory behind it during that climax.
Technically, it was Anna's love for Elsa that saved her, when she sacrificed herself for her.

Have you noticed that the recent Disney movies (Wreck it Ralph 2, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2) all have the same ending with friends/loved- ones going their seperate ways
I think it's a very good life lesson that friends are always going to seperate at one point or another but that the friendship doesn't end there and remains the same no matter what
Same in Dreamworks with How to Train Your Dragon : The Hidden World.
Glad you think so.
Also tangled the series/rupunzrls tangled adventure, cass and raps went separate ways

*“That’s some quantum theory shit right there”*
You make me question my whole life. That's a brilliant theory!
True but I think what Eugene meant was Mother Gothel’s going to kill her if she saves Eugene.
this has sadly been disproven by tangled the series, but it’s a good theory!
She sings about turning back te time. That’s what her hair does. It doesn’t heal but it turns back time. That’s why mother gothel could stay young

Moral of Moana: good people have a heart while villains are heartless.
True, and when the person dies they make a Heartless and A Nobody!

I don't get the whole Meg thing. Didn't we know she was working with Hades towards the beginning? That would imply that she had been manipulating Hercules the whole time and not to mention there was multiple instances that also pointed to that same fact, so why was that such a shock towards the end?

My thoughts exactly. Only one that doesn't fit the list at ALL. We saw it coming a mile away.

Nothing against her, but I've never seen her actually act in a serious roll, and Meg needs dynamic acting for us to fall in love with her all over again. I don't trust Arianna to do that. Don't ask who I think can. I'm not a casting director for a reason.

This was I thought too
My favorite was Hector being Miguel's relative! It was a surprise and heartwarming as well! Second favorite was Tafiti and Ta Ka!
Disney's plot twists are always somewhat surprising😅 Great video.
The Big Hero 6 villain i saw through right from the beginning. I agree with the person who said the Onward ending should be up there.

Sorta Moana?

The plot twist in Brother Bear still hits me hard. Doesn’t help that I learned how impactful the death of a loved one is at an early age.
It was Anna's self sacrifice that was the act of true love. Anna saves herself and Elsa.
@@merry3perish It's still nice to see that the phrase about true love thawing a frozen heart could also be applied to unconditional love, instead of having to be a romantic relationship.

Maleficent's turning into a dragon wasn't really a plot twist. It was more of a deus ex machina so the final fight between Philip and Maleficent would be more exciting. A good plot twist is having a supposedly good/evil character turn out to be evil/good.
Every time I see Eugene my heart melts....
Everybody loves a good plot twist!
I didn't see it coming...am I dumb? :)
Ok ok ok I was a bit younger
but saying “you can’t marry a man you just met” isn’t really a warning. it’s just an obvious thing that ppl know. you can’t just date someone you just met or move quickly w them. i didn’t see it coming 🤷🏽♀️.
But all movies befor, the "princess" fall in love with any "prince" how arrived. Just singing together snow white, pocahontas, sleeping beauty, aladdin. It was a cliche and we didn't question it
It’s funny because “The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” is really a song
By set it off?
ooh I love that song
It’s also a well know phrase. It’s also biblical
gosh!!! that "Meet the Robinsons" plot twist is the best💜💜💜
I thought that most people had forgot about the Black Cauldron, Love that you included it! :DD
Meet the Robinsons was soo underrated one of my favorites❤️👏🏾
