In Germany we create social contacts mainly about clubs / Vereine or work. But clubs are working quite well, there are clubs for everything basically. Like chess, dancing, sports, historical reenactments, music, lots of stuff. Try it and i promise the people will be happy to have you around!

Stop isolating yourself, mate. Join a Verein! You get in touch with locals frequently one or two times a week. Its pretty cheap and they also like to do party all year around. Go bowling, Play chess, do sports or whatever. You will instantly make Friends. Greetings ✌️

    Hey Seth, Happy New Year!
Like you, I am trying to gather new energy and people into my life, I am 46 and my partner died suddenly last year. I have been numb for so long and not allowed myself to smile.
But the only way to build a new life is by reaching out and connecting with people as you mentioned......even though it is hard, like you I am making this a year to say YES to new opportunities and make friends....good luck with the chapter 2025. It looks like you are already on a roll!

Wherever you go, you take yourself with you.
And you won't get rid of other people's characteristics that are not good for you just by staying away from them. You will keep encountering these characteristics in other persons until you have worked on yourself. They are all lessons to learn.
We cannot escape our problems. The only way out is through and the destination is always within ourselves.
And never (!) try to become the person that someone else wants.
You are already the person that someone else wants, but sometimes this someone else… is someone else 😉
I am alone, too. Because I was stuck in an abusive relationship for many years, and I felt unable to escape. And now I have lost the confidence that I’ll be able to escape next time if this ever happens again. So I rather stay alone. Even friendships have become very difficult for me. There is always this fear of getting trapped again. So I have put myself in an exile for the last 10 years even. I don’t know if I’ll ever find a way out, because I have zero motivation to date someone. Theoretically, I know it would probably be good for me. Theoretically, I know I do need other people, maybe even a partner. But I’m so tired.
It’s wonderful to see that you have decided to change something in your life, and that you have already matched with someone seems nice. Congrats!
Of course you are worth spending time with! But: Not for everyone on this planet. So you probably will be rejected again. And that’s okay. It says nothing about your worth. Your brain probably knows that already. The harder part is to tell it to your soul. But that’s certainly something worth working on.
The closer you come to yourself, the closer you come to your future significant other, maybe the love of your life.
The more you love yourself (not only your outer appearance - that’s the easiest part), the easier it is for others to love you.
The less you reject yourself, the better are your chances not to be rejected.
With all my heart I am wishing you all the best for 2025. May all your wishes come true. Guten Rutsch!

I found your channel through Ryan's rreaction, and loved your video. I like that you are mot so flashy, up in my face like the typical youtubers seem to be, but you I find a little toned down, more thoughtful, completative.
Since in this video you open up a little about some mentally and emotioonal challenging times in your life, I felt like sharing a little bit of my own story.
I am about the same age as you, I have been married for ten years, we have three children and a little home here in Germany. So far so good.
But actually this year, I have also been dealing with some mental-health issues. Maybe it's just a midlife crisis, but that doesn't make it less real.
I don't fiind my professiinal life (I would hardly call it a careerr) very fulfilling, and I have next to know friends. I actually live in the same city where I went to high school, but the few friends I had 20 years ago have all moved away. I still have a few friends from university, but they too live in a different part of the country. So in my daily life, I have nobody to share a laugh or a drink with.
One would retort, I have my wife and kids, but that's not the same.
So I guess, my point is that you are not alone in your struggles.
As to your questions, my favorite videos of yours are these slightly deeper, more personal ones where you contemplate life.
And I also liked your reaction videos.

@@psyster5459 thank you so much! I plan on maybe doing some more like fpv videos where I talk about my thought process for planning a shot and my settings and stuff. By doing multiple things like reactions, travel vlogs, photo walks, I sort of defy RUclips’s algorithm of wanting to categorize channels. This has probably hurt my growth, but I enjoy doing multiple things, and if it hurts so be it

I can relate to you Seth. Thanks for being honest and out there. Not sure if you remember me mentioning, if I could find a job doing Graphics/Photo-Video in Germany I would jump on it. Well, I have an interview on the 13th as a Visual Information Specialist (VIS) supporting 7th Army Training Command!!! I would be living in Wiesbaden! I'm pretty pumped and hoping for the opportunity. If I make it over there we should eventually link up in Berlin, have a beer (or coffee) and do some photography!🤘

    Hi Seth!
in my mind life is always to come to a junction where you have to decide to go left/right/straight on or whatever. The direction you choose is the decision until you make the next decision.
For 2025 I wish you many connection to people, online or in real world joining any group of people(Facebook group?). Was a hiking or day trip group already suggested? Maybe use the Deutschland-Ticket to hop on a train and visit a place whenever you are in the mood for it. Even a chance to Vlog about.
    All the best 🙂

    Hey Seth!
Wishing you all the best in the upcoming year! I’ve been watching your videos over the past few months and just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your content. Your work has been a huge inspiration and a great source of entertainment!
I’m from Boston, but my girlfriend is from Köln, so I’ve been traveling back and forth to visit her. That’s actually part of how I discovered your channel hahaha. Digging into Germany and figuring out what to explore when I visit. Your videos have been a fantastic guide!
Whenever I make it to Berlin, I’d love to meet up and take one of your tours. Keep up the amazing work, and thanks again for sharing all your insights. Excited to see what you have in store for next year! :)
maybe some more vlogs in 2025 ;)

You are brave to take the risk to even go to Germany and get away, and to do this video. In a sense you are doing what you like and being yourself. You are important. It is important to be yourself, and along the way sooner or later you will find friends and relationships with common interests. I consider you a friend. I enjoyed meeting you and your insights. We are similar in some ways. When I first stumbled upon your channel, I thought wow here is someone who thinks like I do. And yes I do get depressed during this time of year, mostly over friends and family that I have lost. I tend to isolate myself and do a lot of art. If I lived in Berlin, I could see us meeting up every once in a while to talk about history, culture and politics. I am an artist and seek others who love art, and love to talk about culture and art, and history. I really did enjoy meeting you and the tour you gave us. I really do want to go back to Berlin. I would love to spend more time there just exlporing and creating. I may have to go by myself, because Lois is not as interested as I am. For me I cannot get enough of Berlin, the diversity, culture and history. Have a Fantastic New Year, Seth!! Keep doing what you do and being yourself. I am looking forward to seeing your Photos!!!

Hello Seth, thank you very much for the video. I wish you a happy new year. I just recently discovered your channel and I like your channel. I am not an expert, but I would like to give you some thoughts to grow your channel. You probably already know all this...but sharing my thoughts with you costs me nothing and maybe there is at least something useful in it. Keep in touch with your subscribers...by that I mean read the comments and reply to the comments. Ask your subscribers what they would like to see. Then think about which formats you would like to publish on your channel and what your subscribers would like to see and then produce the content in a form that you are convinced of and that you enjoy. And publish regularly. For example, maybe you can record 3, 4 or 5 reaction videos at once and then publish one every now and then over the following weeks if you don't have time to make another video. You could also produce shorts, for example, and maybe publish at least one short if you can't produce a video otherwise. Another idea would be if you take a trip over several days, then publish several vlogs about it over several weeks. Would it be an idea to do occasional live streams with your followers? How about interviewing other Americans or people from other countries who have immigrated to Germany? Best regards

    • @SethinBerlin
      @SethinBerlin  Месяц назад +1

Those are some really good thoughts, thank you. I like the idea of talking with other Americans. I’ve started concentrating on shorts for here and TikTok. I plan on doing more reactions too even though I prefer making original content.
