Bravo! Both the story and the narration are wonderful! I am looking forward to future works! Ian, you are a masterful narrator. Thanks for turning me into this channel!
I once found a puppy and brought him home. My mother said that we couldn't keep him and that I shouldn't give him a name. Naturally, I called him Hastur.
Just checked out your website. Too bad I'm not into tabletop games... But I am definitely going to be purchasing your short stories. I'm stoked that Ian introduced me to you guys!
Found you at work looking for a narrated story. The fact that we can. Get them on youtube is amazing. I like your work I started with horror bubble didnt even know of your other work. Thank you enjoying a lot.
The songful chant " all we have to offer is blood and bone"....the way it was sung reminds me of a Halloween song I learned in elementary school. " Have you seen the ghost of John? Long white bones with the skin all gone. Wouldn't it be chilly with no skin on?" Is this where you got insperation from it?
Nice catch! Whenever I heard the question "Have you seen the Yellow Sign?" I (Heath) always sung it in my mind to that cadence. It seemed natural to extend it when I was writing a chant for the Yellow King.
I know you may have heard this once or twice, but I'm here from HorrorBabble. Spectacular story! And, as always, great narration by Ian and Jennifer! You've earned yourself a subscriber. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your work.
Very excited to find more of your narrations, I wanted to hear this story and read by you, however I was prepared to hear by someone else. Luckily it just so happened to be you and Jennifer, lovely suprise, thank you.
NOT here from Horrorbabble. Know where I'm going next;) outstanding story and narration. Would love to know if you narrate other authors on Audible. Great voices! Really great writing!
Just found you guys today and all ready on my third story. Great stuff so far, and a very pleasant suprise to find Ian Gordan narrating! Consider me subscribed.
It is. "The Chamber of the Yellow King" is a stand-alone story. But, it is only a part of the Journey to the Tree of Sorrows story arc. We will be releasing much more of the broader story on this channel.
Journey to the Tree of Sorrows I'm glad to be here. I usually find the best channels when they already have millions of subs. I'm glad to have found an epic one just starting out!
Love the stories and the channel. Will there be more stories? If so, can there be more...complexity? Not that these are just shallow tales but rather stories that require the reader/listener to really reflect. I feel that with Lovecraftian horror things are either too straightforward or too “incomprehensibly inconceivable.” I think some really thought provoking and horror provoking conclusions on behalf of the reader to determine are right up y’all’s alley. Don’t spoon feed us!! Lol
There are going to be more stories. Heath is looking forward to getting back to more writing in the next couple of weeks, and I know working on more short stories is one of the things he really wants to do.
The general idea is good, though I think it would have been better if the last uprising of the dead body and the stabbing would have been left out. That's a bit too much action and distracts from the horror of the disintegrating body. The characters' relations with each other and their sexual escapades were also not that interesting. Apart from that, I liked the concept.
Not to be negative....well read and all that.... but at 99% exposition and a female character whose contributions included A: Daydreaming of moonlit seduction B: Getting jealous of a book, and C: Requiring constant groping reassurances, this story would barely have scraped a C in a college writing class. I'm surprised the narrators chose it.
You say that like it's something real college-aged women DON'T think about. She's also been 'active' with both men, or at the very least is close with them in a manner where their touch is a comfort, and not harassment.
I appreciate a new tale in the court of The Yellow King. Im not terribly worried about structure if the story is done well enough. Its akin to being able to enjoy a B movie without being overly critical. Besides, Lovecraft and company arent exactly pumping out new material as of late.
everything else is great but Jennifer is just not a good actress. she has no range, every line she delivers is kinda flat and almost always delivered the exact same way
James F. Fortengard And bass guitarist never play complex chords. She fits in my opinion, she fits well in the general emotional direction these pieces go.
I guess. My recommendation is not to marathon HorrorBabble stories because she wears on you if you listen to say, all the Yellow King stories in one night
yes I did listen to this the whole way through and the only lines she can deliver with any conviction are really short ones like "en garde". maybe somewhere out there there's a story where she does some masterful acting and I haven't heard it and I'll admit I'm wrong about her if I hear it but so far every single production she's been in that I've heard she was the weakest aspect of it because the guy doing the narration and all the male characters is a true master who can effortlessly play multiple distinct characters just by changing the tone of his voice so it kinda puts a huge spotlight on her flaws.
Bravo! Both the story and the narration are wonderful! I am looking forward to future works! Ian, you are a masterful narrator. Thanks for turning me into this channel!
This is perfect, great writing & illustration!
And to top it all off Ian & Jen doing what they do best!
More please ✌️
Glad you like it so much! We are working on more material every day. :-)
Great story! Great narration! Very enjoyable :D thanks to Ian for bringing me here !

Wasn't expecting this at all. Kudos to the writer of such a magnificent thriller. Well done 👏
This whole video was an ad for another one. Needless to say I never clicked off of it. Great job!
Fantastic! We are very glad you enjoyed it. Welcome to the Journey to the Tree of Sorrows community!
I love this story, and I can't wait for more!!
I once found a puppy and brought him home. My mother said that we couldn't keep him and that I shouldn't give him a name.
Naturally, I called him Hastur.
The Hastur mythos...my favorite.
It is one of ours too!
This is such a cool channel, I can't believe I'm just now finding it!
I already can't wait for more full short stories from you.
Great work!

Thank you so much. It is great to have you here on the channel. Ian is fantastic and it is great to get to work with him.
This was so great! I've been wanting to do similar short stories with hastur, just due to the lack of stories featuring him...what a read!
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed the story!
Yeees! Thank you for this great reading of a really good story
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it.

Ian didn’t write this story . Was written by Heath Robinson. To be honest I think Ian’s stories are much better than this.
Oh this is good. So interesting and different then what I was expecting.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!

This is amazing. I enjoyed “The Relic of the Mad Poet”, and it was a really fun, but it lacked the horror of this one. Great work.
Thank you very much. We are very glad you enjoyed it!
Yes. Thank you for listening. I am the author and I am very glad to hear you enjoyed both stories.
@@EHeathRobinson I hope you continue to branch out the mythos for hastur(hastur, hastur). Absolutely amazing read!

Anyone else thought this was about true detectives?
Very excited to find more of your narrations, I wanted to hear this story and read by you, however I was prepared to hear by someone else. Luckily it just so happened to be you and Jennifer, lovely suprise, thank you.

what is the story
BEYOND THE CHAMBER OF THE YELLOW KING
Damn I thought it was like Harry Potter lmfao. Oof damn that was brutal 😂
I liked Relic of the Mad Poet...
Excellent - very glad to hear it! Thank you for listening.

Time is a flat circle....
The narrator's style reminds me of the Ancestor in Darkest Dungeon

The witcher!!!!!??
I feel like this narrating was a tad wee rushed and kind of sounds like he recorded it in a cave and could of done with more emotion.
bad

Probably because that’s all she had to contribute

9:00 minutes in, fts sexist bs!

But did you listen to this through to the end? She’s a very talented voice actress, from what I understand of the industry and talent

This story was overdone...Corny...Sorry...
This story was dumb.
This is dope to listen to as I rip my bong
