Glad to see you so excited for Scotland! I know that you will have fun. Thank you for caring extra weight and taking the time to film your hike. I think it is safe to say that we all appreciate it very much. I look forward to seeing Scotland through your camera lense. Safe travels!
I'm super stoked for you for this trip. I know it's been a long time in the making and now it's time! Talkin' about birds....I'm obsessed over humming birds right now. Not only are they cool as shit but they're so hard to shoot (sharply) b/c they move a million miles an hour. When I finally do nail one in focus I feel like I've won the lottery. See ya on IG my friend and safe travels!
You carry camera gear like Nat Geo......!!!! Except you dont have the OG Land Rover......!!!!! Love your videos....thanks for going the distance....(ha) with the gear and the time and effort it takes to produce this stuff....much appreciation....
Just a piece of friendly advice from a uk hiker Take a midge head net for the highlands stretch. Enjoy the trip it will be amazing. Looking forward to seeing the footage and your impressions of Scotland.
So so happy for you!!!! I fully trust that you made your research on how different it is to hike in Europe, like for example, you will not find outfitters around every corner and if you need something quick from an outfitter, it's gonna get hell of pricey!! Wishing you well on your new adventure and you can be sure, I will be watching every video you post! Greetings from Switzerland (PS: The water is far cleaner over there as well, so less to worry when the waterfilter malfunctions, wink)
Hi Jeff, OMG the morning greeting was intense. Love it! Great review on your gear. I'm excited for Scotland for you. I can't wait for your hiking videos there. Thanks for sharing the info about the Gear stuff.
Just finished the lands end to John o’groats walk. Scotland has been lovely for a change. Weather has turned today tho as I’m going home. It may be very wet by the time you arrive. Good luck with you walk 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi again IBTAT Good to see you and thx for sharing about the gear you'll be taking to Scotland. Can hardly wait to tag along on this hike with you... Hoping you get to see Roscoe before you go. Can imagine you're getting excited to go but will miss him as always. You take good care over there stay safe and enjoy every single minute of your big hike. Eat some different foods and candies too that could be some culinary fun lol. Hoping the weather will be gentle on you but experience it all no matter. Will catcha whenever you're ready to begin!
When you get there get some stuff called ‘Smidge’ it’s an insect repellent especially formulated for biting midges which can drive you crazzzy! Have a great time on your Scottish hike it’s gonna be a different experience … the accents are thick up there so that might be an issue … try the fish an chips wrapped in paper when you get a chance there’s nothing better… 😄
You may need a tick remover.... Hiking to Cape Wrath through the NW of Scotland have a lot of deer and most people pick up at least a few on the trail. Also, the worst part of the trail is the canal towpath from Edinburgh to Glasgow (Milngavie). You may need your ear pods for that. Also, wild camping on the towpath isn't easy as there aren't any great wild camping spots. Look out for camping sites along the way. You wont need to carry much food over the first part of the trip.... certainly to Glasgow as there are towns all along the route. Once you get into the Highlands proper up to 4 days will be enough. All the best!
Hey Jeff👊 Thanks man, always great to hear from you, hope you're doing well, stay safe and take care my friend🙏Have a great trip, and hike across Scotland 🏴✌️
There is a reason you see the Scottish outdoors in their Wellington’s. I don’t like wet muddy feet. Also I chucked my down when I hike in moist climates. You are going in the most beautiful time of the year. Look forward to some pub scenes
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing. I wish you a very warm welcome to Scotland! 🏴 I will be following your journey with interest. Hope you enjoy your time here and can’t wait to follow along man!
hey man i quit drinking and started hiking cuz of your videos! thanks ib tat... JK. i quit with AA and started backpacking years ago, but still find lots of inspiration here to get off my ass and go backpacking
I have acid reflux too. Sometimes, I stack my backpack with gear in it under my sleeping pad. It helps. I thought I would share in case it can help you. Have a great trip. I am excited to see that trail too. What an opportunity for you. I am happy to see your video and photography from Scotland.
Ha ha. You better be quick over there. Their climate turn faster than we do here. I love watching hiking shows from there. They are so different from us. I miss living in England never made it to Scotland . Have fun stay safe.
hope it all goes well, you dont need anything for the mini2, sub 250g. study the weather forecasts and when you get the chance ask locals whats gonna happen.
Edinburgh for castles, and Glasgow for a guid time. West coast cooler scenery than East. East rains less. Have to look up your hiking trail. You do know there is no such thing as trespassing in Scotland? Happy trails ...
Don’t forget any & all documents, passport, DL, flight info & vaccination records. The last thing you don’t want is for a piece of paper to end your trip before it starts. Good Luck & let’s go!!!!
As for the midgets and other helpful things for Scotland, the British youtuber GIRL OUTDOORS could give additional useful info. She has already hiked several trails in Scotland.
buy whatever drone you can right now. in 6 weeks the remote ID goes into effect here. and basically will prevent sale of all UAVs unless you have registered for remote id and have a gps id in your drone and also on your person....even RC foam planes. but they will probably push the date back because its impossible for any company to implement something like remote ID in all of their products within 6 weeks. damn gubment.
Can’t wait to see your trip! We’ll be starting Te Araroa in NZ around the same time 😬 Question… I’m trying to figure out the best way to backup my video/photos on trail and am taking a hard drive too… do you backup through the iPad??
Man I was having bloody withdrawals! Glad you're back on your channel!
