    Here's how to lvl in threads of fate, go tank or heals and only lvl through dungeons and only do it with rested exp. You can alternate you alts with rested exp if you are dps do the world quests. You will get % from each zone for the zone rewards if you feel it necessary finish those %s off b4 you max lvl.

    The covenant gear isn't 'quickly replaced' at all. It's by far the easiest way to get gear even over pvp (especially if you're alliance) . It's 197 for only the cost of anima. Fill in the ring, weapon and trinkets with pvp gear and you have a full set of 197 with a lot less pvp.

      That’s the way I like to equip my alts too. It’s way faste r, unless your faction wins every bg, and you even get 187 main- AND offhand by the end of the campaign, which would take you an entire evening to farm for honor.

      @@chr297 I mean... farming honor via BGs is your problem, right there :P
      That's like leveling an alt only via doing Timewalk Dungeons Quests for like 73xp each.
      Sure, it's still considered "Questing" but cmon.
      If you wanna farm honor and conquest points quickly, Arena is the way to go.
      There's the upside of everybody being less able to blame everybody else, since you, as a player, are a more deciding factor in wether you win or lose.

If you miss out on doing your Torghast runs, then you totally miss out on that ash and it will take you a week or weeks more to get to the soul ash total you need. Once you're level 60 make sure you are getting Torghast in every week, even if it's just layer 3 or so on each of the open wings (Twisting Corridors is a time sink, you don't need that part). Covenant armor sets can be upgraded to iLv 197, so you can totally gear up just by doing covenant stuff and gathering anima. That's what I like to do. My thoughts on Threads of Fate: I love my alts, so I don't mind levelling through the story multiple times. I found that blitzing the normal levelling experience, then switching to Threads of Fate at level 59.9 and finishing the last bubble of xp was much faster for me than doing Threads of Fate. Switching to Threads of Fate at the end allows you to skip the rest of the campaign, where if you hit 60 you do have to go through and finish Ardenwealde and Revendreth before all the end game activities open to you. I was able to get my warrior to ilvl 174 within a couple days of hitting 60. However, my mage probably 4 hours or so behind my warrior's pace just doing Threads of Fate, and she's only been able to build up to Renown 4 and about 500 anima stored, she's level 57. I think with the catchup mechanic, that won't be a big deal.
    HOWEVER, I plan of taking all my gathering alts through Threads of Fate for the ability to just go wherever I need herbs or ore.
    Also, if you want to do Threads of Fate, nobody tells you that you can pick your zone for the Calling quest, then fly to each of the other three zones and get their Callings at the same time so you can actually have all the Callings going at the same time. That zone's Calling is automatically accepted when you land your flight. If you wanted to level up primarily through dungeons, this would allow you to just set LFD to Random and you could be progressing whatever faction's dungeon you go into.

  • @okwaho5316
    @okwaho5316 3 года назад

    Threads of fate, keep in mind if you pick up the quest to go to a zone an start questing their than do that quest. Go back to the guy in the big city and pick another zone. You can do this to start questing in every zone and than run random dungeons or just focus on whatever world quests in whatever zone you like.

    • @thefilthycasual3068
      @thefilthycasual3068 3 года назад

    13 minute video on something that could be summed up as
    Easiest way to get to 190 item level is to finish your campaign quests after (or parallel to) that
    1. Do pvp
    2. Go to mythic dungeons and then mythic+ dungeons when you can

  • @thefilthycasual3068
    @thefilthycasual3068 3 года назад

    If you have the quest for each zone and leveled through dungeons do not drop those once you are 60 as you are able to still complete those and receive a renown level. There will be points where you are a level lower and not able to progress your story therefore this is where these come in handy and you can complete these then to advance the story line.

    What I prefer to get gear fast to my alts is to complete the covenants quests...and Timewalking if available. The covenant quest can be done in a few days, letting you upgrade your gear to ilvl 190-197 but save anima for that. Heroics should be farmed for trinkets, neck, weapon, rings. At the end of your covenant, I think they give u a good weapon ilvl184 I think.

    I was wondering if Renown was bugged because I couldn’t catch up. As of 1/12/21, they updated their renown catch up system as follows from Blizzard GM.
    “The catch-up system for Renown wasn't bugged - but it was confusing, for sure! We've applied an update this week to make it simpler, but let me explain how it used to work and compare it to now.
    The way it used to work is that the catch-up system would enable Renown drops from callings, dungeons, PvP, and raids. These would only take you up to -last week's cap-. For example, last week the cap was 21, so you could only get catch-up drops until the prior cap of 18. At that point, you would need to do your weekly Anima and Souls quests to reach 20, and then do your Covenant quest to reach 21.
    However, if you did your weekly Anima and Souls quests -before- you caught up - because those quests can help you catch up - you'd be stuck a week behind and never be able to catch up. This wasn't very intuitive, because each week most players do their weeklies right away, before doing anything else.
    That's where a lot of people got stuck.
    So, we applied a fix with restarts this week (Tuesday for the American realms, Wednesday for the European realms).
    Now, if you finish your weekly Anima and Souls quests early, the catch-up system will allow you to earn 2 more Renown and help you cross that gap to the cap. For example, this week's cap is 24.
    - If you reach Renown 21 without doing your weeklies, the catch-up system will stop dropping Renown, like before.
    -- Then, you'll need to do your weeklies to reach 22 and 23, and then the covenant quest to reach the cap at 24.
    - If you reach Renown 21 -and- have already done your weeklies, the catch-up system will continue dropping.
    -- Then, you'll need to get drops until 23, and then do the covenant quest to reach the cap at 24.
    Keep in mind that catch-up Renown drops are not guaranteed, and can be rare at times. You won't always be guaranteed to reach cap within one week of play, and that's intended - especially as we get later and later into the expansion, it'll start taking more and more time to catch up to the renown cap.”

    If you're doing Threads of Fate, consider getting the "efficient" anima quests (e.g. rewarding 100+ anima or the painless quests). You can use the anima to upgrade your covenant gear at the end of the Renown story to higher ilvls than M0/LFR.
    Threads of Fate might be slower to get to 60 but it might be faster to gear due to the head start on Renown and anima if you prefer running solo.

      With the Gear you have you can just Push 7 and beyond... The difficulty shrank quite a bit as well, after all.
      And honestly, if you're in ilvl 197 and cannot push 7... don't bother gearing. Because if somebody (not you personally) is that uncapable - he'd basically need full mythic raid gear to take a crack at Heroics (I am exaggerating a bit, of course, but you get the idea).
      PvE people will always find reasons to complain when the reality is, you've had it good these past few achievements - and you were spoiled to no end.
      Now that you gotta work for it a bit again (not even a lot, PvE is incredibly easy and achievable) - the tantrums start.

      Have been doing 1 key per week on my alts, usually a +7 or 8. World boss for gear and a catch-up renown rank, click on 5-10 souls in the maw, and I'm done for the week. This week when covenant gear went to 197 and for some reason you get a 187 raid finder weapon when completing the final quest for your covenant, I was able to upgrade 5'ish pieces on each character to max, and their ilvl have settled around 203-207
      I feel like the covenant campaign and renown upgrades are far more time efficient than pvp, but pvp to fill the slots not obtained through weekly keys and covenant campaign is also nice. The only thing missing in my opinion is what alot of others have mentioned in beta, and more so this week as well - is the missing valor tokens and vendor to subsidize not getting upgrades after completing the raid on normal or doing mythic+ and getting no upgrades.

    I levelled with War Mode ON when the expansion first came out and everyone was still levelling and it went fine but recently I decided to start levelling an alt with War Mode ON and I was killed by bored level 60 characters running around looking for low levels to kill, constantly. So yea, it was good for a while but now it just sucks.

      If I get a Calling to do World Quests in a specific zone, like Maldraxxus for instance, and I happen to cross paths with sb from the opposing faction, I kill 'em (or they kill me) regardless of level.
      Sure, killing a lvl 53 is not entertaining, but there is no "honor" in letting them pass, is there? You can take that play of words literal or metaphorical, really. Up to you.

    On my alts I've started ignoring covenant armor slots for gearing in pvp and using pvp to snag the offset pieces. Between 197 covenant armor and the rest as 197 pvp gear you're ready to hop into heroic raid or smash normal a few times for trinkets and such you may be missing. It is a frustrating amount of anima cost, but on my alts I don't put much into sanctum upgrades.

But with threads of fate you just get to 60 doing what ever and then you can start dojng covenant stuff.

    For alts I’d argue that you should skip heroics and only run LFR raids once or twice till you get a legendary.
    The key is to focus on renown catch-up to get to that 197 ilvl PvP and covenant gear which is gated by renown. World quest gear is good to pick up as its low effort. I’d also work on torghast at whatever level you can complete to get a legendary as it’s a solid boost. When you’re capped on renown you can earn and still want to play then PvP is the best option with focus on getting rings, necks, trinkets and weapons as covenant chapters don’t give you these items at 197 ilvl.

    There is more to War Mode than pvp and xp gain. WM also increases your quest rewards and those add up. I started on a pvp server back in BC and soon discovered pvp was something I preferred to avoid. I got better at avoiding and never bothered to transfer. The occasional gank is not enough incentive for me to play WM OFF. When I'm blocked by campers I log to another alt.

    • @Ishongar
      @Ishongar 3 года назад

      if you're talking about what is going on around the 2:40 mark, you don't need a grappling hook. You have to look up for "grappling nodes" up on the the mushrooms. Just click on the grapple node (if the gear icon turns gold) and up you go. It's an irritating "puzzle". You see a chest, hunt for the grapple points, but usually only 1 grapple point will start you off. Usually pretty easy to figure out once you find the initial grapple point.

      But you have to farm tons of anima right?

    • @johnk5896
      @johnk5896 3 года назад +1

      @@oldmoney1022 the upgrades are quite affordable early on. The best ways to get easy anima is the world boss (250), the second WQ that gives 250 anima (I believe it’s in Ardenweald this week). Then those weeklies in oribos for dungeons, if you do both that’s (350). So if you do the world boss, that WQ, and the two dungeons quests, you get 850 anima! AND there was a special quest in your adventure guide this week that rewards 750 anima if you do 30 WQ. So you could do strictly the anima WQ for a few days and knock out the 20 before reset and get and additional 750 anima!

    • @johnk5896
      @johnk5896 3 года назад +1

      @@oldmoney1022 I’ll give you how much anima it is to upgrade an item a rank. Rank1->2 (50 anima) Rank2->3(100) Rank 3->4 (150) 4->5 (200) 5->6 (250) 6->7 (300). So it’s pricey as it gets higher. But if you look at it, for just under a 1,000 anima you could get three pieces of gear to rank 7. This week I’ve done all of those activities I told you about and all the anima WQ and any rares or chests along the way, and I got all my gear to rank 5. You can do PvP if you want, and that’s a great way to get anima. But I personally like the set bonus more. I hope this helps since no one really has covered it completely :)

    Don't see the reason to NOT turn on War Mode. Through all of my leveling in shadowlands I got ganked only once which is really not big of a deal. the 10-whatever % bonus is pretty helpful and most people aren't tryhards and won't kill a low level just because they're stronger. Maybe it's an NA thing but it doesn't really happen on my server (EU).
