Out of all the ex digital rev guys, I get most excited when I see a video upload from you. Really love the feel of your videos.
Count me in.
me too!
me three, I second that! :))
Me four
Yezzir
I really like these types of videos because it's not a "camera a review" or "how to take a better picture". It's someone doing something the like with a camera, and talking about what they are passionate about.
This guy is really talented, keep up Ian.
Of all the Digital Rev/ Analog Rev folk, I enjoy your videos the most Ian.
Ian is such a realist
I really agreed with you on that last part. I like taking photos for the artistic side in me, though in the end its those goofy photos of my friends that I cherish privately.
Beautifully written and produced; it's sometimes good to reflect on the bittersweet, boring, or less-than-ideal moments when traveling; things that aren't always conveyed by showy displays of 'happiness' to present to other people as a front.
I feel quite strongly about this! On Instagram etc there's....way too much false positivity...
Rewatching my favourite series, Digital Darkroom and making my quarantine much more bearable.
you videos are packed with emotions , one my favorite photography channels .
Currently re-binge watching all your videos.
Your videos are always the most thought out and I can always feel your passion in them! Another great video!
You are amazing Ian! Everytime i watch your videos i´m inspired again to move my photography foward.
Thank you very much for your content.
Thank you!
I feel like photos & videos are such an extension to ourselves, that trying to manage my content & aesthetics often feels like I'm managing who I am too. This is such a beautiful video, both the videography & message, really resonated with me.
Keep them coming Ian. Awesome work!
I love getting that notification!
All your videos are beautifully shot and are very thought out pieces of work. It's truly wonderful to witness such a unique & clear direction/ voice after your departure from your previous position. REALLY AMAZING & looking forward to more
Thank you for the kind words!
Wonderful video essay, Ian! You work is always thoughtful and insightful. It has the sparkle of intelligence. The visuals and editing was amazing. Great job Ian and Anne!
Love the transition at 6:10, the calm tone of your voice, the minimalist music in the background, and the peaceful landscape drone shots..the tempo of the cuts was very musical, as well.
Thanks as always - we were/are still quite nervous about this episode, but well, what's done is done!
Waking up in Switzerland after a russian wedding. Sounds like a normal russian wedding!
LOL - I have to say, there was less vodka than expected :|
Definitely my new favorite channel. Love your narration and those drone footages are to die for.
Need more!
This video is really excellent Ian. Your comment about changing photos to reflect something that does not represent the actual event was very good. And true. I used to go to Switzerland frequently for work. To me it is a bit idyllic, except the weather can be dreary for someone like me who's hometown is San Diego. I used to go and spend a week in Zurich and it would rain for a week. Not always. One of the reasons the Swiss built all those incline railroads and cable cars was to get over on top of the clouds and to see the sun in winter. And it is very expensive. Some of my ancestors came from there. So I understand the mentality when I go there a bit.
Another fantastic episode!!
Awesome as always dude! Love it!
I really enjoy your videos Ian. It's very rewarding to see your humble and relaxed approach to photography in these IG days when photography for many seems more like a competition than an art.
A thinking photographer's channel.. Well done, I always look forward to your videos.
Great episode!
Went to Interlaken for literally half a day last year. Just from your opening shots, I could instantly recognise it. Funny how some places stick in your memory. Keep up the content, hoping to see a lot more mate :)
It's kind of surreal. I can't think of any other place in the world like it.
I love your videos! such a different approach. keep up the good work! thank you!
Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I have really been enjoying your videos. Your thoughts are refreshing and a joy to hear. I look forward to seeing more work from you!
amazing. inspirational.
great stuff Ian
i gotta say there is a certain realness to this that I can definitely relate to. Keep it up, liked and subscribed :)
Your pictures are so amazing. I absolutely adore your way and style of photographing. And, you're totally right when saying "You don't need to fake something. I think that's a real issue nowadays. And I am always super excited when a new video of you comes out. Thank you so much :)
Xanga
LOL - although early facebook was fun too.
Your photos are so amazing. Haha, the beginning about being forced to watch travel photos was so true. Great advice.
I watched this before my trip overseas and watched it again just now. Such a great video and wonderful thoughts. Thanks.

Can't believe I've missed you starting your own channel!!! Dude you where the best of Digitalrev!!!
It's what I have been struggling with and now that I know I'm not alone on this subject. Great work as your per usual!
this is the exact video I needed right now as I'm at the end of a month long cross country trip, thanks Ian!
Time to sort through the memory cards and film :b
Ian Wong and scrounge that money for development lol
Fantastic video. I love these heart felt conversations they really encourage me to get my camera out and be creative 😀😀😀
You have a feel of darkness and i like it, i might be wrong though but shows as more real anyway, keep up the work!
Great to see a new video, love your stuff man! Really nice message, and useful because I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks (btw your Mamiya 6 is beautiful)
Enjoy your trip - and yeap, I love that camera :)
You summed up my thoughts regarding this matter so beautifully. Thank you Ian this is such a great video! :)
Great video Ian! Like others have already commented, It's sice to see something well produced that isn't just another gear review.
Long anticipated video, and it definitely didn't disappoint! 😄
Your music selection matches the content really well. Your channel is a nice break from the endless product review videos inundating RUclips these days
My god, beautiful video and stunning photographs!!!
Thank you for this.
Beautiful video... Keep up the great work !
Awesomeness as always
Excellent video ! This episode is different indeed but it's really interesting, I hope so see more and more videos like that in the future 👌🏻☺️ I share the same opinion, it's important to create that sort of different projects. Really good job Ian 👏🏻
Projects keep us busy :D
Ian Wong exactly ! 😃
Man! You killed it! Pretty good job! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
This helped me a lot, thanks Ian.
thank you for making this!
Your videos are just magic!
Quality content as always Ian.
I'm with you, man... I'd much rather capture reality than "here we are smiling in front of X," "here we are smiling in front of Y," etc.
So lovely, in so many ways ~ you guys are the best!
truly great Videos ian. inspiring, meaningful and relaxing at the same time. Thank You and greetings from Germany :)
Love your video! You are very talented!
Your videos are so good, I love them so much
What's the title of the BGM at 6:15? Digitalrev TV infocus used that in their white house photographer vid.
Amazing video, saw the notification, immediately send it to my arty friends!
Anyone know the song from 6:10 to the end?
GreatJob! Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know the title of the closing music? I love it! :)
Interlaken and the area around is my favorite travel place even though I've been there only one time.
Amazing video.
Kudos for a nice edit, Anne (btw, it's amazing how the blue sky at 04:22 pushes to the foreground although it technically is out of focus like the rest of the background --- an effect I lastly had recognized with red colors on E6 film).
And of course thank you, Ian, for reminding us of the (many, different) purpose(s) of photography. As a personal example: In the mid 80ies, my high school class and I spent a week at Rome on a field excursion. The only places of interest I can recall by name today are thoese we visited during the first four days, when I had not run out of film (not yet!).
Most of my shots contained dear class mates, and I wish I had already scanned all of them to put them on Facebook for the former attendees. It would be a blast!
Later on, I could even sell some selected architecture shots to a tourist guidebook publishing house. Obviously, this was a totally different audience: No person included, of course. At the time, I just called it luck and a day. Somehow, and certainly without knowing by this time, I had the right gut instinct like 'shoot whatever you can, you'll never know what purpose it might serve...' This has become even easier due to digital photography nowadays, no more need to alloting precious film. Your inspiring video just added structure and reason to this!
This needs to be said and absorbed more.
this guy is great
What a wonderful video! I actually share your opinion in almost all points. As for me it became increasingly difficult to decide what to share and on which platform, just because there are so many possibilities. In the end I usually share nothing and my photos and videos just disappear on my hard drive.. :(
I have to admit I do that too sometimes - it can be awesome going back in a few years and finding out what you shot. But in the meantime, go ahead and upload!
Dude you can write a serene speech. You should do it more often in social media captions or something
nice videos!
Dat Persona 5 music about halfway through. :-)
Fantastic job! If you will ever plan to visit Crimea let me know. :3
If you like this kind of content Sean Tucker makes some great stuff
I like his videos!
Who do we shoot for? very inertsting question.
dude you are totally my favorite
Alright I need to know where in Switzerland this was taken. Amazing location.
Interlaken - but mostly shot in the neighboring villages :)
Thanks for the quick reply! This was the first video of yours I watched and I loved it. Keep up the fantastic work!
I agree with Joseph Molloy below...please do them MORE OFTEN....its a travesty to social services that you dont....
Thanks - we will try to bring out more!
That's the shit man! keep it up!
Another great vid, Ian. BTW, you're getting lazy - the Mamiya 6 has a different shutter sound ;)
It was meant to be the sound of a slide projector :D - Anne
Ian Wong Haha, now I get it)))) Good editing choice, then!
I've never gotten feedback on Instagram
