We are pleased to be able to continue our very popular series of interviews that we started during previous lockdowns, and are thrilled that we have got an amazing set of speakers lined up during Lockdown 3.

“A CHAMPION FROM THE VALLEYS!”
It was with great pleasure that we welcomed via Zoom, one of the most prolifically active trampoline aficionados that Wales, and indeed Great Britain has ever developed. The longevity and breadth of this man's trampoline career is astonishing! It is (of course), the one and only.....MR TONY "TJ" JAMES!
1) National Category II Judge - Trampoline (including Brevet Judge between 1982-1996)
2) Senior Trampoline Tutor and Assessor (at HPC level)
3) Former Chair of Welsh Gymnastics Technical Committee
4) Former member of the British Gymnastics Coach Education Panel
5) Former Welsh Representative on the Central Council of the BTF (British Trampoline Federation) for 18 years
6) Former British Team Champion (1971)
7) Former Welsh International Trampoline Gymnast (1969-1978)
These few points do not do the career of TJ justice at all, having been involved in trampolining from pretty much the birth of the whole sport when George Nissen knocked up his first trampoline prototype in his garage and shipped it round the world to market this weird new bouncy contraption!
From representing Wales as a senior international and earning the title of British Team Champion, to drawing heavily from his PE teacher background and carving out an illustrious career in coaching, judging and coach education as a senior tutor and assessor.....this man epitomises what it means to fully give yourself to your sport! His lifetime of service has not gone unnoticed, gaining numerous accolades and achievements to recognise his prolific input into the sport of trampolining in Wales, across Great Britain and beyond.
