I owned two of these muscle cars, not in the same years as shown but two. I had a 70 GTO with the 400ci engine, with an automatic trans and a 1966 Impala SS with a 396ci engine with a 4-speed trans, and it was a beast. I loved them both.
It's right up there, but I always thought that the 1971 and 1972 Plymouth B bodies were the best looking muscle cars. Im prejudiced however; I used to own one.
My Dad Bought a 1969 Cuda 340.. he still owns it.. He bought it for drag racing.. He raced His "Cuda" at New England Drawway.. up in Epping, NH.. It had the perfect weight to horse power ratio.. Wow! Yes, who amongst us doesn't love dreaming about our favorite muscle cars? Heck we dream about a lot of the '60s & '70s cars we drove, built, and enjoyed. I was fortunate to rebuild a '66 GTO with my dad while in H.S., and had friends with some really great cars as well, my favorite a '71 cuda 440 w/pistol grip in violet (that kid was rich). I do wish terms of the day wouldn't have gotten so muddled over the years. I don't know where the "colt car" came from, we knew them as "pony cars", after the initial '65 mustang. Muscle cars were midsize cars with very few options except a big engine and appropriate drivetrain. Over time they all became "muscle cars" because pony just wasn't acceptable for 426 hemis, 440s, 429s, 428s, 427s, 421s etc. An older friend of our family owned a '68 shelby cobra gt500kr, omg what a cool kick ass car that was. At least I got to ride in it a couple times and just being around it was thrilling. If I might pass on what the gentleman owner told me, "this is not a mustang, it is a SHELBY COBRA GT500KR. Period!
I had a Chevelle in my younger days and would love to get another one when I retire. The hemis were faster but they were rattle boxes that ate starters, alternators and water pumps. My Chevelle was fast as hell and super well built.
I've had several Trans Ams. 72 455, 73 455, 79 400. They are the best looking muscle cars. The 70 Chevelle LS4 Rocked as did the 73 455SD Trans Am. My Dad went Forgien 1967 and 1969 Jaguar XKEs.
The 1970 Mustang boss 302 is my favorite. I had a 1970 Mustang fastback with a regular 302 engine and when I drag raced it I pulled 14.53 @103 mph in 1/4 mile. It was not stock.

All the cars are beautiful they were fun to watch and see again after so many years since I am now 71 years old but you did say anything about the Torino cobra in 1970
Yeah... Kind of arbitrary to just pick out 10 specific years/models/makes... the Impala was great year after year... and if going full size cars, can't leave out about 50 other full size makes/models years... but full size aren't even 'muscle cars'... just fast full size cars...
It’s hard not to smile when you see a classic muscle car. These powerful monsters were created to not only take you from one point to another! Big, heavy, loud and rough - there are all the wonderful

Top ten classic cars: eHI THERE
Yep... Only 2, Chevelle and GTO in this list are actual "muscle cars"...
All the cars are beautiful they were fun to watch and see again after so many years since I am now 71 years old but you did say anything about the Torino cobra in 1970
I didn’t realize Mustangs made 600hp in the 60’s, guess I was living under a rock.. 😂
Still an ugly car with that engine, just like them mopars 😂
@@fogtown3027 ugly car? alright...
FOG TOWN Mopars are the most gorgeous by miles..
@@GenZBuilds2 Yeah, especially Chargers, Barracudas, Challengers and Roadrunners
Yeah, 600 hp and a six speed transmission in a 60's Shelby GT-500??? The Magnum needs to fact check a bit more.
That is really awesome and gorgeous! And the car is not bad either! LOL
I love the pontiacs but mustang really out did them selves i feel like they out classed cars back then

I’d add a Plymouth roadrunner and the amc javelin
Yeah... Kind of arbitrary to just pick out 10 specific years/models/makes... the Impala was great year after year... and if going full size cars, can't leave out about 50 other full size makes/models years... but full size aren't even 'muscle cars'... just fast full size cars...
I love them all!!
